George/Nick: Texan Charm #11

Hi all,

It's the first time I post in this thread(maybe third when post in CSI at all). And I have a strange question for you, but it bugs me.
Few years ago I had this discussion with friends about CSI and I said about George - 'This guy looks like Tom Cruise a bit' and my friends were laughing at me saying they don't see any resemblance. They still make a joke whenever I say that someone seems to me similar to any actor or actress - 'are you sure it's not Tom Cruise that he/she is similar to?'
Then me and my husband saw an episode where George say something like ' I have this Tom Cruise thing going on' when describing himself on the phone with someone(I don't remember the episode, remember the situation).
What do you guys think? Does he have any similarity with Tom Cruise?

First of all, welcome to the Texan Charm thread, Kala! :)

Yes, I would say that very often I see the similarities between the two, especially when George was younger and was wearing his hair short but thick and when he smiled. :)

Ahhh, I don't know why I didn't find this thread earlier. x3
I finally stopped lurking and started posting today and this is my second one, haha. BUT I LOVE HERE ALREADY. This and the photos thread. ;) Haha.

So, yes. x3

Oh man, old episode, but anyone remember Grave Danger? I was watching it the other day. It made me want to cry. o3o

Oh, also, is Eads' 'character' supposed to be Texan as well? (as in, is "Nick Stokes" from Texas)

Well, this might sound very strange, but Grave Danger is my comfort movie.

I feel a cold coming on and I've got tomorrow off. I'm thinking that I might curl up under a blanket, pop some popcorn and watch it.

Oh, and yes, Nicky Stokes is from Texas. Although I do wish that Nick's accent was as strong as George's.

Welcome, Kovu Stokes! :) Always happy to have another Nick/George fan on board!

Oh yes...I think we all remember Grave Danger...just about word for word and cap for cap. :D In fact, I haven't watched it in a while and might just do that this weekend. :)

Thanks for the answer, Smokey :) I'm glad that I'm not crazy and not only I see his resemblance to Tom. I just have to show your post to those who were laughing

See, that's what I figured, and I wanted to check, haha. But I know, it would be much better if he had the strong accent.

And I agree about that whole 'comfort movie' thing, I love that episode. But it bothered me too. Any time I watch it, when they show Nicky (on the cam, in the car, whatever) I seriously felt almost a pain.. Which is odd, but yea. x3 It only happens for his character (but in other episodes), and my actual friends. o3o -total dork-

BUT asdfjkl; I love his accent. And he's so cute. He's like a muscular teddy bear with an interesting attitude. xD

So what did we think of our Nick last night? :) I was very pleased! He looked great, as usual. Loved the long sleeved dark shirt he had on. And there were several moments very cap-able moments that I'm sure you guys have gotten already, but I'm going to have to work on it this weekend. :D

As a side note, a guy came into the bank today and his last name was Stokes. I told my co-worker that I got a kind of a "rush" when I heard her say, "Mr. Stokes is here to see you."

I thought it was a so-so episode.

Nicky looked great last night. I too liked the long sleeve t-shirt.

Yeah, the episode itself, not so much. But all the Nick-time was great! I like that at one point he got to actually explain something to Ray instead of the other way around.

Nick was the only saving grace for last night's show.

Long sleeve black shirt with khaki pants

Loved the comments he made to the guys at the work site  I wonder if they were the actual words that were written or did George take some liberties and add some deliberate 'cowboy' words :)

He did seem wonderfully "Texan" at times last night. :adore: I want to watch it again now, but I can't watch and read forums at the same time on my laptop.

Well get another laptop so you have one for reading forums and the other to watch the shows

I actually like this one better than Crossdressing Carp. I'm not sure that's saying much tho.

Long sleeve black shirt with khaki pants

And did you notice - The indian head belt buckle was back.

Favorite line of the ep - "That's my goat" :guffaw:

Teacher Nick showed up in the beginning to explain the oil to Ray. :luvlove:

Had a very active episode. Helped drag the guy out of the water, was down on the ground checking under vehicles, climbed on a tractor trailor truck. Nice to see him able to do all these things. I think he's had a much more active time so far this season and that can only mean good things. :)

Was anyone else worried about Nick in the scene with the guns out. After last weeks discussion with Catherine I was a little worried that something was going to happen.

"Mr. Stokes is here to see you."
Smokey, I'm surprised you didn't pass out from that line.

I do find it odd that he was that close to another explosion without some sort of reaction. Just when we thought we were getting good continuity.

Well, I did swoon a little.
