Forensic Science Trivia Game!

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

 I gave it a random guess. Though as I was writing, I was proving myself wrong. Ecstasy is an upper, and has hyper- reactions, increasing things like light sensitivity and such, so probably a very bad thing to put into an animal for surgery, hehe. :p

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

wow no clue at all. I don't think I shall hazard a guess for fear of being completely off the mark but I will look it uup in the library tommorow and see if the question is still open.

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

I thought this would be easy, just call up a relative and ask. I call the first one who is a detective in the violent crimes division, and he says "If your sample is from someone famous a couple hours, otherwise, at least six months." I call another brother who works in forensics (that's all I'm allowed to say because if I say more he says his job no longer sounds the least bit cool or exciting, curse all you forensics shows! haha) and he started asking me questions like PCR analysis, what are we trying to determine, how many markers, what do I mean by standard, and then says a lot of technical blah blah blah?

So I'll just guess and say 2 hours.

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

Is the question about how many hours a DNA analysis takes? Well, I wasn't aware that there was a set number of hours that it takes for the process, as there are many different steps that have to be taken to actually extract the DNA, quantification (PCR), and then capilary electrophoresis the counting of the STR (short tandem repeats). If I had to guess number of hours, oh I would say 4 or 5?
