Forensic Science Trivia Game!

Hey ancienttomb, that IS a tough one
phew, I'd say the chance is 50:50?
But actually I have NO idea :D

No
Leukimia is not genetic disease, so it not heredity
But if it's not dominate gene, then a son will get 100% disease from his mother cuz it's on the X chromosome. :)

cool! we're doing genetics next year (grade 12) in biology too, i can't wait... i basically did the whole 2 yr unit because of the genetics and the fact that we were gonna be studying 'plant' cells! ahhh, funny... my friend and i kept on making cracks about how sara sidle would have OD'd on plant if she was in our biology class (long story... based around parody we wrote)

well, I learned the plant cell in year 10.Boring!!!!! i'm more interested in animals :D And the whole year 12 i'd learned the DNA stuff,calculating.............tired
Well a new question:

Cl2 + 2NaOH = NaCL + NaCLO +?

It's easy :D

Guess it depends on the type of leukemia involved. Types of leukemias are generally classified as acute vs chronic i.e. the maturity of the hematopoietic (blood forming) cells and myelogenous vs lymphocytic i.e. the type of white blood cells that are multiplying.

Genetics is just one of a bunch of risk factors associated with development of leukemia e.g. Leukemia risk is increased 15-fold among children with Down's syndrome; First-degree relatives (parents, children, siblings) of Chronic Lymphocytic leukemia or CLL patients have a 2- to 4-fold increased risk for this cancer.

Anyhow, my working knowledge of genetics would just about fill a thimble. *sigh* So I don't know the answer.

well, you know more than me.All i know is how to calculate the probability.I don't know much about the kind of leukemia :D
I remember that the recessive genetic diseases(achromatopsia, albinism) are only exist on X chromosome,so if the mother's sex chromosome is XaXa(Normal gene is XAXA)and son can only get a Y chromosome from his father, the son's probability of disease is 100%, and daughter's is 0 cuz the daughter could get one health X chromosome from his father, her father's dominant gene could control the recessive gene not appearing in his daughter but remaining hidden because of the presence of a stronger characteristics. When the daughter has a son in the future, her son's probability is 50% if her husband is health cuz her sex gene is XAXa. :)

It's easy :D

Well, it's easy if you have chemistry knowledge :D :D

The complete equations is:

Cl2 + 2NaOH -> NaCL + NaCl= + H2O

:D :D

Ok, here is another question:
What is the Kastle-Meyer test?

Yeah, your chemical equation is right :D,Selina's awesome :D :D

Is it a presumptive test for the presence of blood? :confused:I'm not so sure

Yes, well done ancienttomb!
You're absolutely right!!! :D :D

Your turn! ;) ;)
