Forensic Science Trivia Game!

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

The only five catagories i have seen with any relation for Forensics is the actual Physical evidence, Drug analysis, Toxicology, Crime Scene and Evidence examination and Biology (Examination of DNA) or do they mean, catagories such as Hair and Fibre and Firearms and stuff?

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

For me, the five categories are biology evidence, trace evidence, firearms evidence (ballistics) and documents. I've just realised that they only was four, so I'm going to add DNA, identification evidence let's say....

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

The five basic categories are a) Temporary- may change or be lost
b)Conditional-associated w/ specific conditions at crime scene
c)Associative -links suspect/victim to scene
d)Pattern - blood, etc.

e)Trace/Transfer -produced w/ physical contact

I think the question is poorly worded. Saferstein lists 20 different common types of physical evidence. It is important to know who has categorized the physical evidence into these 5 types before one can even guess at what the proper catergories would be.
My source is Katherine Ramsland's The Forensic Science of C.S.I.

Re: Forensic Science Trivia Game

Stage 1- Skin looks pale and taks on a waxy look and heart stops beating
Stage 2- Lividity sets in
Stage 3- Desiccation shows up on mucous membranes
Stage 4- Putrification, skin takes on a greenish color and face bloats
Stage 5- Gases produced by bacteria in the intestines makes the body bloat and turns the skin black. Bloating continues througout the breasts, tounge, scrotum and eyes. Intestines are pushed out through the rectum. Foul odor develops.
Stage 6- Skin begins to blister and eventually bursts. Hair teeth and nails loosen. Internal organs liquify.
Stage 7- adipocere (cheesy substance) forms by fatty tissue hardening.
