Why is it usually impossible to obtain fingerprints from textiles such as fabric, clothing and carpet? (I got this question off from one of the trivia I did)

Is it because fingerprints are created from sweat and textiles are porous and the sweat gets aborsobed? Therefore fingereprints can't be obtained.
