Forensic Science Trivia Game!

Well, GSR (Gunshot residue) is the material coming out of the muzzle of a gun when fired.
It consists of lead, antimony, barium and graphite dust.

Forensic enough for you, Katy? :D :D

Cool thread! I'm amazed by everyone's forensic expertise. I can't say I know as much as you guys, but I wanna play too! :D *sits down in the corner and awaits next question*

Koolies welcome to the F.S thread, enjoy! :D

Thanks for the welcome! :D

Anyone mind if I post the next question? It's been a little while and I can't wait to play! (Sorry Selina!)

Ok, here goes: What is ANTs (and not the insect)?

well, ANT is also used as abbrevation for "anthropology"

btw. welcome to the board, lemon_grass :D

Interesting collection of answers...

I was actually thinking of this, though: (from "Early Rollout")

WARRICK: Does citrus illuminate?
NICK: Sure it will, if it's derivatized. Do you have any fluorescent reagents?
WARRICK: I've got ANTs. Not the insect.
NICK: Amino-Naphthalene Trisulfonic acid.
WARRICK: (jumps in) -- Trisulfonic acid.

Apparently it makes derivatized sugar light up under the ALS. :D I was watching the ep the other day and it just got stuck in my head.

Okay, on with the show! Next question anyone?

Well, there are a lot of answers possible with a single abbrevation :D

Ok, since I got skipped last time I'm gonna post the next question:

What do you use Diazafluoren for?

You use it to produce a highly fluorescent species with latent fingerprints on paper, which reveals more detail than using ninhydrin.

Right? :D (What will I ever do without google? )

yes, but you use it not only on paper, but on all porous surfaces ;)

Your turn, lemon_grass, but is "googling" not kinda cheating??
