I did not like Whiney!Greg at all. So totally OOC for me. He would so not talke back to his supervisor like that, especially Catherine. His saying something to Sara when they met in the hall felt natural. His whining did not.
I also didn't care for Nick's reaction. Once again, OOC to the max. Nick would have pulled Greg aside and said something. Not snapped back at him like that.
So I'm not the only one who felt that it was out of character. I totally agree that Greg's outburst was not natural. And that Nick would have pulled Greg aside and told him to let it go rather than embarass him by calling him a whiner in front of Catherine and Ray. The whole scene on their parts felt very immature to me and neither Greg nor Nick are immature.
Now I did think the way Greg acted in that scene was a bit out of character and I did not like the little bickering between him and Nick but being a Greg fan it did kind of excite me just to see him get mad like that. It is such a rare thing to see that emotion from him but then again that is why it is sort of OOC. I did not care for Nick saying he was whining, even though it sort of was the truth. I just do not like how the writer's approached that bit. I did like that once he was at the scene at the hotel and Officer Andy was complaining, Greg said that this victim also deserved to have his killer found. That was very Greg-like.
Totally agree with all of the above. Greg getting mad at Mrs. James, his reaction there was very in character... but his reaction here was not. And I agree that Greg in the scene with the officer was very good.
I did like Ray more in this episode for some reason. Maybe because it was not Ray overkill for a change.
I totally agree. His scenes were very well done and this is the way it should always be. Good job to tptb on that one. I really did like Ray in this one, especially him as the peace keeper in the blow-up scene. He was the only one in that scene who was actually in character. Catherine was even a little out of character at first, though she didn't say much. The old Catherine would have been more like, "Greg, I'm sorry, we're just really short handed here. I don't mean to make you feel like you're not important and I promise things will get better once the pressure's off, but for right now, it would really be helpful if you did the trash run just this once more." Or something to that effect. It would have difused the situation quickly and effectively and I think would have shown that Catherine does respect Greg and his role on the team.
The first spider scene with Nick had me cracking up with the scared look on his face. He was sweating bullets handling that spider. But the later scene with him and Greg was really cute. Glad they did not hold grudges against each other.
hehe yeah... the way he looked from behind the book all wide-eyed like a curious boy was so adorable. And I really loved the Nick/Greg scene. Their scenes together are few and far between these days, so it was really nice to see one with them, just the two of them where they were all smiles and laughter. I guess they apologized to each other off-screen. Would have liked to have seen it though. One of those quick man-hug's (the half hug, half pat on the back for a job well done kind of thing) would have been nice.
have we ever even seen Nick and Warrick hug? Speaking of hugs, did I blink and miss the Sara/Nick hug? Or was that cut? I was trying to write stuff down about the ep and my stupid pen didn't like the paper I was using, so I had to search for one that did. So, I could have missed that.
Loved seeing Liz and David in the opening credits and just new clips overall.
Yeah, that was nice. Unlike Miami who have been using the same clips forever and just adding news ones of new characters.
