Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

REMINDER:

If you are running a challenge that is going to have 3 catagories PLEASE Pm me about it! I would just like to know what threads to look for so I can see how all of this works out.

Thank you :)

ETA: I've edited this to save myself from triple posting, I hope everyone still reads this.

PLEASE IF YOU ARE TRYING THE NEW 3 CATEGORIES PM ME!!!!!

I really can't stress this enough guys. I don't know what Vera is doing about this, she works hard enough, but this is my way of knowing which challenges are hosting 3 category challenges. I've had 2 challenges already where I had to read over every detail just to find out what was going on. Vera and I can't always get online too often anymore with school, internships, and sports. So we can't read every thread every day. It'd really help me out if you PMed me when trying out the new categories. PLEASE PM me, it's really a pain in the neck to have to look through every challenge when I only have about 5 minutes to do it before I have to go off somewhere else. It will take you maybe 30 seconds, please help me out here.

If you've read this, please reply and tell me that you read it.

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

I read it and I think you got my PM about the Miami challenge having 3 categories - so I hope we are all good. Sorry!

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

You didn't do anything wrong if you didn't PM me, I just want to make sure that everyone reads this so that I know what to look for :)

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

Heya! I have to admit that I didn't thought about that issue, Jess, sorry, the new LV Challenge Thread started off with three categories, too, and we didn't add any special rules, I'll re-check this. *huggles Jess :)

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

I personally don't care if it's reduced to two entries, or we move to three categories, or whatever. (To be honest, I usually only enter one or two icons anyway, and I don't care what category I'm competing in.) Thanks to both Vera and Jess for all your hard work. :)

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

Read and understood, and I don't really mind if there's a shortage in entry numbers or categories so long as we keep doing these challenges :D

I think the idea where somebody else rates your work as either beginner, intermediate or advanced is an excellent idea. As somebody else pointed out, by having the middle category it's going to greatly reduce the number of entry in the advanced level. I mean, I wouldn't be fair for me to compete as a beginner (cause I'm not really a begiiner ;) ) but I certainly wouldn't classify myself as an advanced graphics maker. I hope our wunnerfully, over-worked mods will consider a thread/challenge where people can vote for a graphic maker's skill level...

Well, that's my two cents anyways. Haven't competed in a while but everything looks fantabulous! :D :p

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

Has it been decided if we are going to do this? Might not be a bad idea to do this while the challenges are all on hiatus.

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

I agree with Kat. I had just been thinking that October isn't that far away, and there's probably a few things that need to be decided before the challenges start again.

Yeah, it'd be a good idea, but I won't have the time this week to work this out, and I know that Jess is also busy like a bee, so if one of you guys would jump in for us and start such a "In what category I belong?"-Thread, that would be awesome. :)

Here's again the idea roximonoxide came up with:

A thread like that even, could be run like the challenges. Just have it run in cycles, and when, say... 20ish people submit their work, it gets posted and rather than voting for faves, like a challenge, users cast a vote of beginner, intermediate or advanced for EACH piece of work. When the voting closes your level is determined by how many votes at each level your work received.... just a thought anyway.

Any volunteers? *begs on knees* ;)

Re: Everyone Read This! *Updated*

lol ah, I believe in you! :D

Thanks bunches, just open the new thread and if you'll have some problems, questions etc. you can always pm Jess or me :)
(and we can always change things if there's need, so no worries)
