Eva/Natalia #2: History Aside, She's Making a Good One!

I am going to interject here....well...a little anyway. It is my opinion that Eva was front and center of one of the best episodes of the season, that episode being "Miami Confidential". I thought the story had a good flow to it and the plot actually seemed realistic and believable. Everyone talks about the season finale cliffhanger, however the "Miami Confidential" epi was, IMHO, one the best written epis of the season, and Eva was the lead. It spoke hugely about her potential.

On the flip side, I am in agreement with MJ. This last season, rather, this last season and a half has been heavily lopsided toward Calleigh and H. I am hoping that we see some more development of her character in the next season. MJ is quite right, the show is supposed to be an ensemble cast. I also agree about the season finale, that was a cheap cleavage shot and it was at a point where I thought the wardrobe department may be dressing her better and appropriately.

It's not going to be until September when we see Eva on the big screen in "Lakeview Terrace".

Now, I may sound like I am preaching, after all, I am the "patience" guy on this thread. But, I am suggesting we sit back and wait for the new season and see how things go. I would hope to see something positive 2 to 3 epis in. If we don't see any change, well, we can complain all we want.

I never watched the soap, I became an Eva fan through her role as Natalia, but I did go back & watch clips on youtube & movies that she's been in, & I fully agree, she has a load of talent that is being so terribly wasted. It's something I've been ranting over for a while now.
It's a good thing she has other things in motion like her movie with Samuel L. Jackson, & her personal life sounds like it's doing great as well, so TPTb need to start learning how to write the word NATALIA down in thier damn scripts!!!!!!
This past season has been ridiculously overplayed with just a few characters, It's been such a disappointment. She had ...what...2 scenes in the finale...one was a complete cleavage shot & the other she had like 3 lines.
Natalia/Eva is way better than that, although the one scene w/ Eric I really enjoyed (teeheehee).
Still, it isn't right, & I can't imagine how it must make Eva feel everytime she gets a script, it's a story about Horatio or Calleigh & she only has a few lines. I'd be pissed, it's an ensemble cast, not the :censored: Horatio & Calleigh hour!
It's time to dust off Natalia Boa Vista!!!!!
I agree with everything you said. I love Calleigh to death, but I think we've had an overload of her and Horatio this season. It's time to focus on the other CSIs. You know... what'stheirnames... Uh...

Damn. Can't remember.

After watching some of the All My Children clips, I think that "Miami Confidential" did nothing for her. Sure, it's a great episode, but it still wasted a lot of her talent. We saw her having an inner-struggle and getting a little angry, but it was nothing compared to her on AMC. I can't really explain it... Err... That final scene in "Internal Affairs" with Horatio? That was just a small taste of what she is capable of doing. I fully believe that if the writers gave her a good, drama-filled and Natalia-centered episode, she could win an Emmy.

That ending scene in "internal affairs" was quite likely the first time we EVER saw emotion with these people. Im talking the real stuff, like us normal folks who can't hold back real tears!!!! I KNOW Eva is capable of pulling off a great dramatic episode, Ive seen it!
Miami Confidential was one of the best in S6, it was very nicely written, & Eva was great, but I agree they could easily do more with her. Not only is she a great actress who's able to carry it well, hell, her expressions could tell a whole story on thier own, the girl can work the eyes:lol: but it also fits her character. Natalia shows emotion, the character is by far the closest to reality as it can get!
Im not saying im done watching, Im with DOUBLEHELIX on that one, im hoping to see something better in the new season...it's past due.

As have I! And every time I see another fabulous dramatic performance by her, all I can think about is how she could easily win an Emmy if given a good enough script. (I don't have much faith with the "good enough script" part because, c'mon now - the writing for CSI: Miami is a joke. Very few writers have done a good job.)

Does anyone have any ideas for an Emmy winning episode for our Eva?

I was thinking about a case involving a young girl (around five or six) who witnesses her parents' deaths. When Natalia interviews her, they form a really close bond - Nat is the only one the girl feels comfortable around and trusts, and Nat is absolutely in love with the little girl.

Then, maybe when Natalia takes the girl out for ice cream or something (*shrug* work with me here!), her parents' killer kidnaps her or something. Natalia would go through the rest of the episode on the verge of an emotional breakdown as she attempts to take on the case by herself to find the girl. The team would have to calm her down a few times, try to bring her back to reality, but it doesn't work.

In the end, Natalia finds the girl, as well as her kidnapper. She ends up shooting the kidnapper dead and saving the little girl. (Aww.)

^^^
That's not really funny, I just giggled cause I've thought of a scenario close to that, too.
I'd LOVE to see Natalia shown as "motherly", I just think it fits her, not really sure why...maybe cause she's a Mom in real life *shrugs*
Still, It'd be great to see that side of her. Her niece involved would be even better!!!

I just would like to see her emotionally involved in some gory case that she can't seem to get over or something. Anything would be better than the typical "just doing my job" crap TPTB have been doing with her since Nick's death.

That scene in 'Permanent Vacation' (seeing the dead guy) seemed to get to her, & she made several comments throughout the season that gave the impression that she's toughening up, but still "aware" of the danger & is still a little afraid, I wonder if TPTB plan to go anywhere with that.

I still don't doubt something will pop up with that shooting incident though, or even the ordeal with Agent Mike. That would make for a great episode to have him resurface & come after her for revenge!!
We know TPTB LOOOVE the revenge stuff!!!:p
Me hopes so!!

I agree with you. Eva is an AMAZING actress, I love her :). That ending scene with Horatio made me cry... She should have won an Emmy for her performance in that episode !

I cried, too!! She was just so realistic, I felt for her. What a crappy relationship; so sad for her. Oh well, ding dong the :censored: is dead

Hi TOGOFAN444, welcome to the Eva/Natalia thread!! Happy to see another fan, have a Midori cocktail!!:p

Just to let you know, we do try & keep this thread as non-shippy as possible. You can find the shipper threads in shipper central, & there is one to fit your liking;)

Let's keep our fingers crossed for some action packed Natalia this season!!

Greetings Folks! This thread has been a little quiet for some time now.
I did find something that may be of interest to Eva fans here.

Remember the segments that Eva did for EXTRA while she was in Paris a while back? Well, over at the official CBS board for CSI Miami there is a segment that appears to be from that trip. Some of the scenes we have seen but there are others that we haven't. So, it may be of interest to some of you all to go on over to the CBS board and give it a peak. If your expecting to see pictures of her and the her new fiancee your out of luck, he does not appear in the video. I guess he likes to keep a low profile.

Well, here's a link. You may have to tolerat a commercial before it starts. Enjoy!

Those CBS clips do not like me  I'll get around to watching it eventually.

So, apparently from Eva's article in OK! magazine, Joe does have 2 grown children & seems to be a great Dad according to Eva.:) I hope she brings wedding photos when the big day comes!!!

Since we have nothing new to really talk about here, shall we start a season 7 wish list for Natalia?! Non shippy that is;)

Someone posted in another thread that they would like Natalia to get some of the Miami action - I AGREE 100%!!!
So, that's one wish for me.

I'd also like to see Agent Mike return & stir up some trouble for her.

Some continuity on the shooting ordeal in 'Tunnel Vision'.

Some emotion would be nice...any kind as long as it takes full advantage of Eva's acting skills...she has TONS that's being wasted.

More background character development, like why the FBI placed her there to be the mole.

For that matter, more of the FBI stuff all together...I like that she uses her contacts to help solve cases.

And most importantly, some major drama for her!!! Im so over the other characters to the point of I'm no longer sympathetic for them. Take 'em out in strait jackets & bring 'em back when they've handed over thier drama queen crowns!!

Including in that drama, I'd like to see her near death. I know that's awful, but I don't care ...she'll live & be stronger:p

:brickwall::brickwall: <-- that's not a brick wall, that's the door to the writer's room;)

I agree. She should get a lot more focus in season 7 than she did last season. I hope we get to see Natalia's character develop during season 7, at least a little bit.

She's looking gorgeous as always!!!.... & showing off that rock I see!!
Thanks for sharing Noealonso, always appreciated.

Has anyone heard anything more on Eva's deal with that celebrity band?
I saw a small piece of it in my TVguide, & didn't see her mentioned.
