Well I find it hard to be optimistic when I thought for sure this past season he would be in a lot more after Sara was gone but his screen time pretty much remained about the same even after.

And when Grissom was gone in S7, Greg still had very limited screen time, so that excuse does not appease me either. I guess I am pessimistic.
 
Thanks you guys!! for your posting and what spoilers there are... Its sad really that Eric/Greg might get less air time than all the others... and wrong, for heavens above its an asomble? cast otherwise it would be called Grissom... u know... like Buffy or Angel.. or House, or Grey's anatomy u know?

Of course each character has to have equal amount of time, and good storylines.. Are we really going to see Greg go back to having one line per episode? I really hope not... Not meaning to sound harsh, you think he jumped up and down with joy when Eric saw the scripts for Season Eight?

I mean lets face it, season eight had him being paired off with Nick for most of the season... Oh I was such a happy girl...
 
I haven't got as far as watching season 8 after Sara leaves yet. I guess it's really irritating. I wonder what Eric himself thinks about it?

I guess he did have limited screentime when Grissom was gone. I must have caught your pessimism today......

I'm off to post my letter later on anyway, how many people have sent them? How many have had a reply?
 
I'm not expecting a reply for mine. I mean I am just sending a letter voicing my concern.

I still say since making Greg a CSI the writer's cannot figure out how to write him into the stories properly half the time, so they just throw him in randomly for one little scene on some episodes.

You know what i think your right, they dont know what to do with Eric... I wonder if thats been like that since day one?
 
I guess I'd just want to know that they received them. I think that's an interesting point, probably totally right too, like when he has a labrat they had their ideas about who he was/what he was like, which they tried to change once he went into the field, and they don't know what they're doing with him half of the time now. I guess that could be a reason he's had little time. I don't know, it's really confusing...

Agree with this sad statement. But I still can't believe that how writers etc. are ruining so great character with a big potential.

Again I must agree... It's a really big possibilty that is the reason why we didn't see on screen Greg too often. And yeah, that's so confusing... I hope it'll be better in next season, I don't want to have a bad feelings.
 
I think Greg's screentime in season 8 was pretty good, there was only a small number of eps that he got only seen once or twice. IMO. I'm just worried that could change with the new characters and Wendy getting more time. I don't expect a reply either, I just wanted Carol to know how dissapointed I was with Greg not being equal with the others.

By equal I mean not being included in case discussins, and another ex was when Warrick was arrested everyone showed up but him... that is the kind of crap I am sick of.
 
I haven't seen that ep yet, but I can see how irritating it will be. It's not fair on Eric really that he seems to be ousted of the important scenes. If he was a guest star then yeh, but he is one of the main cast. It is annoying. I've said the same kind of thing in my letter really, that he just doesn't seem to get the same amount of time, or storylines. But I guess to TPTB, Fannysmackin and the effects was a big Greg storyline. Even if he didn't have that much screen time with it after the ep.
 
He had quite a bit of screentime in "You Kill Me" which since it was a current Labrat storyline, surprised me. :lol: I loved him in that ep! His facial expressions were great!

I was reading the Eric article in the CSI magazine and it said that it was Eric's idea to make Greg a CSI... that he asked them to do that and they did. So, I think they do respect him. Maybe with the two new writers/producers they'll write more stuff for Greg (two writers from Battlestar are joining the CSI team). The article also said that the character was originally written as in his 30s and they changed all of that because they liked Eric so much. :)
 
I am reading this thread quiet often but this is the first time I am leaving a comment. I just wanted to say that I looooooooooooove Greg and it piss me the fact that he has soooooooooooo limited screen time!!
 
I had this wicked idea to write a fanfic about Greg being a superhero but nobody knew and it was crazy (and obviously a crack!fic lmao) because he was like a ninja-superman-joker-type hero... or vigilante... whatever. x3

ANYWAY, it was fun to think of... but I think it would end up being so crack-ish that the result after it would be similar to the poison that Joker had that made people laugh to death. :guffaw:

but I disregarded the idea because I would think anybody (in reality) who read it would be all --> :wtf: throughout the entire thing.

But it's still fun to think about. [=
 
I would love to see Greg as a superhero. Mmm... imagining him in the superhero spandex. Yummy. :) :drool: I'd totally read that fic! And I wouldn't worry about the sillyness of it either. I just watched that Superhero Movie with Drake Bell in it. :lol: Sid from CSI: NY was in it too. That movie was supersilly, but funny.

Well overall his screen time in S8 was pretty good, but I definitely am worried about the new season with a new CSI and Wendy training to be a CSI that we will not see him as much again. It is truly a shame that they cannot manage to make him an active part in every case/episode. I just hope they spoilers that are being put out are not all right since he has hardly been mentioned in them.

On an Eric note...There is an article that mentions eRockster in USA Today.

Rock music is just a portion of the playlist on Clear Channel's experimental station eRockster, which began broadcasting online (at erockster.com) in April and as an HD channel in three cities (L.A., Philadelphia and Washington). "You'll hear a song from the Beatles, followed by Hot Chip, and that's followed by Charles Mingus," says Eric Szmanda, producer and one of the station's hosts. "All the songs from the soundtrack of our lives."

Szmanda, who plays Greg Sanders on CBS' CSI, came up with the online station's concept along with Evan Harrison, head of Clear Channel's online music and radio unit. They met more than a decade ago at record label BMG.

"Eric had a really fresh idea about how (to) approach a radio station that really doesn't stick to a format but is rather focused on good music," Harrison says. Szmanda says eRockster is basically "the first nationally branded HD station, as far as I know. … I find it exciting to be part of this new technology."
