I haven't seen Man Down in a while so if I'm way off, oopsie, but I'm thinking it also had to do with the fact that nobody knew if he was going to make it and in some twisted way, presenting him as a less-personal entity was a defense mechanism to help her cope. Like, "we're not close so I'm not hurt." Then, of course, she goes to visit him and ROBOT-CAL goes out the window.

She called him Delko in Dead Woman Walking too, when he had that radiation scare. I do think it's more of a professional habit of Calleigh's, and yeah, it's definitely one of her ways of presenting herself as unattached to Eric. She is attached to Eric, so of course to everybody else, she needs to make it seem like she's not. That's Calleigh.
Now, if she started calling him Delko to his face, then I would be worried, because that would mean she was upset with him for some reason. And we don't want Calleigh upset with Eric...not that she really can stay upset with him, but still.

I work part time at a lab in my local hospital, and all the guys there get called by thier last name whilst on the clock. I even call my best friend 'Jones' when we're at work. I don't call my boyfriend by his last name though, even at work. But Donahue isn't easy to say, so he gets Joe :lol:
I agree though, her calling him Delko to his face is bad, excet maybe in front of Stetler. I actually want Calleigh to get upset with him. Sounds silly, but I want one of those full-blown, intense fights that esculates until they're pressed up against a wall.

Caro thought it'd be a good idea to let the writer choose one element from the above list that they do not want to include in their story and replace it with any of the other suggested elements. This is optional, of course, but here's the list (I took out the ones with 3 or less votes to save space, but I suppose if you really wanted to include those, you could as well):

- two people playing Chutes and Ladders

I noticed all the characters go back and forth with calling each other by their last names. Eric often calls Ryan 'Wolfe' and Ryan calls Eric by his last name also. I find it a little odd that they do that, especially considering how long they have all worked together. Cal sometimes still calls him Delko when she is referring to him when talking to someone else.
Advent calenders are cool. I still buy them too..the younger kids think they are fun and the kid in me thinks it is fun too I think it more tradition than anything else that keeps me doing it

I agree with the whole last name thing. Calleigh goes all Delko when she's trying to emotionally distance herself. I can't recall a time she's ever called Ryan by his last name (though that might just be bad memory on my part)
So the stories are due Dec 24?! Most human beings can carry a child to full gestation in the time it takes me to write a story...

We just saw 'just murdered' for the first time like an hour ago!!! The kiss was awesome, I have already seen it like a million times but to actually watch it on my tv was cool!! They are so gonna be together!! I can't wait!!
I'm thinking i may write an xmas fic using the elements but i have never done anything like that before and it would mean taking a break from my current story! But what the hell, its christmas I might just give it a go!!

I'm not not posting because there are no episodes; I'm not posting because I have so many finals to study for.
Besides, if I post, I'm gonna quiz you guys on the episode of Life that aired last night during Miami's timeslot, and I know nobody wants horse porn. (If anybody did watch it though, you win yourself a nice pat on the back.)
I don't watch the reruns but I hear they're not great E/C eps. I don't really care what episodes they air during reruns, as long as the new episodes keep the E/C love coming. And they do!
I started my fic but it's going to sit on my hard drive, untouched, until after my exams.
I'm not not posting because there are no episodes; I'm not posting because I have so many finals to study for.

I started mine today, it's extrmely fluffy though, although I'm not sure that's a bad thing or not. Over here we get reruns on 2 different channels, and there never seems to be any good E/C eps showing, ever- it's so unfair
