Calleigh is with Jake out of familiality. Think of all the crap she has been though, she just doen't want to get hurt again. With Jake she has played all his games before so there no fear of getting hurt.
But with Eric? She knows him so well, yet she has never experienced his 'romantic side' before and therefore dosn't know how to handle it.
Once she's got over her fear of the unknown, there will be no stopping that ship.

Can everyone please write one short EC fic and post it? Because there's been like 2 and a half in the past month and the recent episode has given so much to work with. C'mon, let's get a move on. I need my EC fic fix.
As for the show, more UST, I say. Make them stand super close every scene and like look at each other all the time (they do anyway but they're like ten feet or one huge table apart most of the time).

I'm a big fan of Eric and Calleigh taking it slowly (but not too slowly) At work today a woman and I were talking about how no one ever courts anymore--like no dates just "hey, lets have some dinner, and for dessert we'll have a roll in the hay" I don't know...sex is an important part of a relationship, but a relationship that has its foundation on sex can only crumble. Ergo, I am willing to wait

I agree that a relationship that sprouts solely from sex usually doesn't work out in the long run, but they've grown together, changed, really seen and understood how the other operates, so I don't think that if they started having sex right off the bat, it'd ruin them. Maybe we can get a mix of the romantic courting and their wild nocturnal activities. But then again, this is Miami we're talking about.

I agree that they've grown together so much that they have that understanding many one-night stands (or any of their old relationships didn't have) but it's so much more complicated when it's such a close friend. The implications of any kind of physical activity (even as minute as kissing or hand-holding) could potentially have an enormous impact on their friendship. If things went sour, it would be really hard for them to go back to the way things were (which is why things aren't going to go sour because Calleigh and Eric are so much better than that and even if they've been having sex for the past ten years, they WILL stay together because that's how it is)

I don't think Eric and Calleigh could ever be about sex, which is probably why they haven't slept together. I think they both also understand that if they get together, it can't be a casual fling, either. When they finally do, it'll have to be all in, which is why I think Calleigh's so scared. Understandably, but sooner or later she'll have to take the plunge.

Jacks I totally agree...I think a relationship that is based solely on sex will just crumble, so in that regard I too am okay waiting while the foundation is laid...that said, their foundation has been solidifying for at least the last 6 years, so even if they jumped into the sack tomorrow it would most definitely not be about just sex! And yeah Caro I totally agree...I think Calleigh knows that when she finally gives into Eric it will be her giving him everything...mind, body and heart forever and no matter how much you love someone that could be a little scary! But no worries Call...Eric would NEVER hurt you!
