Delkolover it's funny you mention that they're taking it slowly to keep them together (which is what I think also) cause I was over spying :eek: at the Ducaine thread and they were saying that the reason there are no H and Calleigh scenes is because they are taking it slow because at the end of the show those two were going to finally hook up. I just felt so sorry for all of them cause that is obviously so not gonna happen. And so totally not the way the writers are going!!
I agree that the writers are finally doing it right with EC so I'm sure it's leading up to something big and not just some fling type relationship. :)

Demonic is the right word for it. It has a screw loose. I laughed so much I cried at that. It made me feel loads better. Thank you. (Even though I can hear it from here asking me if I want some toast.) If anyone feels like writing a FanFic on my toaster, I am very happy to provide you with it ... I mean With infomation, though if you wish you can have it. I might have an idea for a fanfic though ... I 'll see how it turns out.

Um, I don't know what's going on (why are we talking about toasters?) but uh, yay EC!!!

Let's ignore their feelings for each other that extend past friendship for a moment. In general, friendships, especially ones as close as Eric and Calleigh's are put under huge strain when one person (Calleigh) gets into a relationship with someone (Jake) who the other person (Eric) dislikes or doesn't think deserves the first person (Calleigh). When my best friend started dating this whiny little bitch, I found myself resenting the fact that she couldn't see how much her new girlfriend was damaging her. I think that Eric feels a bit of that. Add that to the jealousy, the hurt and now the frustration over his PTSD and he's got quite a little emotional whirlwind whipping around in there.

Lucy that happened also to me, well kinda cause my friend was dating this guy and he was a jerk but she didnt want to break up with him, yada yada. Anyways I was looking at BBYD caps from Random Scribblings and I stumbled upon this click :p

If that's the case, imagine what poor Eric has been going through for all these years. Calleigh has a history of choosing bad boyfriends. All the ones we've seen are known for hurting her. But Calleigh for some reason can't see that. Eric however sees it clearly.

You're right; Eric is her best friend. The last thing he wants is to see Calleigh hurt. But that's exactly what he has to stand by and silently watch. He can't say anything about it either because he knows how Calleigh would react to that. So poor Eric is basically just powerless to watch Calleigh get hurt. That would be bad enough if all he felt toward her was friendship, but given the fact that he's obviously in love with her and would never dream of hurting her...it just makes it that much more painful to watch...for him, and for us, heh. But hey, some of us adore angst. :D Possibly a little too much. :lol:

Eric was checking Calleigh out left and right during the episode. Not that we could blame him, her shirt had like, no front. But during the Hummer scene for example, when she was buckling up, he was practically wearing her nipples as eyeglasses.

When your best friend is dating a jerk there's nothing you can do about it. If you try to talk to them, they'll just tell you you're jealous and get pissed with you. I always let them do whatever the hell they want, eventually they come through.

Yeah, they do. The process is just frustrating as hell because you have to witness the fights and not be able to do a damn thing about it.

I wonder if we'll get to see J/C fighting and Eric being the frustrated best friend who tries to be supportive without throwing up all over Jake's ugly vest.

One of my friends from high school is in a relationship and none of us like the guy and apparently he is going to pop the question and now we are all like 'oh crap' b/c the guy really is jerk and she won't listen to us. We've pretty much given up on trying to convince her not to stay with him.

This is a bit frivolous, but I was re-watching BBYD and I noticed that when Eric and Calleigh were talking in the lab, Calleigh says something like, “The doctors said you could be up and down possibly for years.” And Eric replies, “Well then I guess I’m right on target.” Could that have been a slightly acrimonious reference to the Jake thing? I don't know, I'm probably just overanalyzing things, as usual. :rolleyes: ;)

He meant he was proving the doctors right in that he was going to relapse sooner or later.

I hope the pills don't magically work, because that... makes no sense. And if,

Calleigh is nervous about his safety in episode 10 then I'm guessing we're going to see Eric continue to have problems in the upcoming episode. I can't wait till Calleigh finds out. She's gonna feel like shit and I'm gonna laugh. Haha.

I just hope they don't make Eric out to be unable to do his job like they did at the end of season 5. Or if they have to, at least make it continuous and relevant (unlike the random bouts of confusion we'd get last season). I'm so sick of the lack of cohesion in this show.

That would be my guess too Caro...that the reason she is nervous about him is b/c she either has some inclination about his injury affecting him or something else does happen between the next eps and ep 10. I do think she will feel guilty b/c Cal has made herself Eric's protector in the past and she will feel like she has failed in some way. And we all know how much Cal hates to fail.
