Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Poor Eric has lost everything, and now he could lose his job? Although it wouldn't bother me one bit if during the last season he went on disability and became a stay-at-home dad. Because that would be adorable and hot.

I think Calleigh's starting to see that her relationship with Jake is robbing her off the special relationship she and Eric have/had. I think that's why she brought Jake up during the Hummer scene. The question is, is Jake worth it? Could she have with him what she has/could have with Eric? I think she'll start asking herself that question soon. I think the coffee machine scene was supposed to be all cute, but it didn't make Jake look too good, especially with the Brandon/Jess/Jerk Boyfriend parallels.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

You can't miss something until you lose it and I think Calleigh can feel Eric slipping away. Her desperation came through really well when she said, "C'mon, Eric, it's me." She never lets anyone else see her that vulnerable and she only ever speaks in that quiet voice when she's alone with Eric. And even though she's being stupid and all that jazz, I couldn't help but feel for her in that moment as well. Yes, she's the cause of them drifting apart but she's paralyzed by this fear of change.

At this point, I think a part of her wants to prove to everyone that she and Jake can make it, just to be right, and that'd be believable if they painted Jake as a decent guy without commitment issues.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

It would be more believable if Jake wasn't such a jerk. The only problem with Cal feeling the need to prove herself right and everyone else wrong is that she is going to lose something that is probably the most important thing in her life; Eric. The Hummer scene gave us a glimpse that maybe she has a little bit of regret about choosing Jake but it is still only the top card of a very thick stack, so I think it is going to take more of stuff like that scene happening in order for Cal to come around and realize what everyone else and us already know; that Jake is a complete ass and is totally wrong for her.

roses are red
violets are blue
Jake sucks more
than Blink 182

I should give up trying to get my engineering degree and just write poetry for a living y/n?

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Y. I suggest you send that to the New York Times stat. Donahue would totally hire you.

Jake and Peter walk into a rink. Only one comes out. Who?

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Neither? They turn gay and win pairs figure skating at the next winter Olympics.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

That's a win situation for them, I'd say.

I wonder if they'll ever bring Peter back, though. The writers kept hinting he and Calleigh would hook up some day, but he was so ridiculously dull. He was almost like the anti-Jake. At this point I'm starting to think Calleigh is looking for a future ex-boyfriend and not an actual successful relationship, because damn.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Peter was too much of a "good-boy" for Calleigh. Remember when Hagen was like "You don't like guys who knock"? Peter would knock. And I can't imagine him having sex, just because he acted kinda like a robot. I don't think he'll be back (at least not as a prospect for Calleigh) because Calleigh got really pissed off at him for sort of leading her on and then, like the coward he is, asking Hagen if she was approachable. (Idiot?)

Eric would never ask anyone. He'd go straight to Calleigh and just lay it out there (which he kinda did in BTK).

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

I blocked out the entire time that Calleigh and Hagen were together. If it weren't for the fact that he shot himself I probably wouldn't even know he ever existed. And then Peter. And Jake. God.

Okay, Calleigh, we all need to get laid, but could you please choose men who have reached the end of the evolutionary chart? If not for your sake, then ours.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Seriously though....choose a man who is slighly more evolved mentally and in the looks department. I mean with Jake I can't get past the lip and the fact that he looks like Freddy Munster and Peter, well Peter was an uber dork. He just looked dorky and boring.

Of all the guys, Cal has dated or semi dated and it pains me to say this, Hagen was the most interesting as far as personality and storyline. I hate to say this also but he and Cal at least had some sort of on screen chemistry when they shared a scene together and overall Hagen was a helluva lot more interesting.

Of course, none of them compare to Eric in the looks or intelligence department but if they hadn't killed Hagen off, I could see the current storyline more with him instead of Jake.

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

Happy birthday Jessica! :)
It pains me to say it too but Hagen has been the most interesting of her bf's so far.
Jake was a Jerk in BBYD he seemed more interested in the condoms 'This is more like the dorm room I remember' than calleigh wanting a coffee matchine
I'm sure that scene was just there to show they are together.
I mean she said 'you can have 1 every morning after we get the matchine' She said we as in a shared thing and he dismissed it. If she said that to Eric he would have got her one straight away, if he wanted one or not
On a good side it means the writters are not delving deeper into cake but its making calleigh look bad for staying with such a jerk

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

I think it's because Hagen was more than a love interest. He had a complicated storyline independent from Calleigh's (that the writers dropped the ball on). So he was interesting because he had a bigger role. Peter was just the potential love interest/help and Jake's only purpose is to keep Eric and Calleigh apart.

The writers aren't developing Jake/Calleigh because the relationship is going nowhere. Its only purpose is to further the E/C cause.

Which is totally fine by me. But you can definately see how Jake serves no purpose b/c he doesn't even interact with Eric at all, only Cal and H (mainly b/c right now is filling in Frank's role while he is on patrole). Like I have said all the long, Jake is filler...in more ways than one.

Johnny won't be around too much longer i think b/c right now he is in the process of shooting another movie while guest starring on the show...so he is busy; which is probably another reason the writers aren't delving too deeply and he is only in a few scenes when he is in an ep. Which again, is totally fine by me :D

Re: Eric/Calleigh #26: Known To Cause Arousal In Laboratory

the whole coffee maker scene was just to show the audience that Calleigh and Jake are together. though from Jake's reaction he isn't very committed to a relationship. He is there for Eric/Calleigh angst and nothing else. When a guy only has like 10 lines in an episode he's not going to go very far!

I agree that part of the reason Calleigh is with him is just to prove that she can make it work. It is familar to her and she thinks that she can control the relationship. From the hummer scene though she seems to be regreting that decision.

And however said it she is starting to realize that she is loosing the connection that she and Eric have. And I can't see her giving that up, even for Jake!! She'll come to her senses eventually!!

somethingsdont said:

I noticed that too, specially on this episode. That quiet voice is only used with Eric, and it's just really sweet.
