Okay, first of all I don't actually know much about what Miller's involvement in the show is. I know he writes some episodes but I've also heard that he's and executive editor or something, so in an attempt not to sound like an idiot I asked him some obvious questions. Secondly, I was going to post the whole thing, then I realised it wouldn't make much sense without my original email so i'll just post parts of what he said.

Spoiler: Miller

Miller said that he had been involved in some way with the show from the very beginning. He said as far a he knew their had never been any talk of a possible romance between Eric and Calleigh. He said that the fact that E/C didn't work together much last season was a fluke, so when they put them together in 'Fade Out' is was very much intentional. They were very pleases with how it turned out, in fac Miller says it was great. He told me to expect alot more of them together next season

Spoiler: There's more...

Corey said that they aren't going to favor any pairings next season, unless a character arc come out of it. He also says that Calleigh will be involved in a car accident, but she will not be hurt. It will lead into a storyline where she runs into a boyfriend from her academy days, although Miller didn't say anything about them getting together.

Spoiler: So...

There's good news and bad news really. Obviously we can't expect them to get together next season, but I don't think any of us were. The good news is that they will be together more and hopefully this will help the newer writers see their great chemistry and hopefully something will come of it. I'm not totally sure what he meant about a 'character arc' but he didn't say anthing about Eric getting back with Natalia, or that Calleigh will end up back together with this academy guy, so at least they will both be free if the writers decided to do something with them. It;s clear Corey likes the pairing but he does metion that the others writers quite like the Ryan/Calleigh dynamic, although he didn't say this in a romantic sense, just working cases.

Phew, that was a lot, I don't think I missed anything. Glean from it what you will, but S5 looks pretty positive for us Hip Huggers .

It's great to see that some of the writer-type people care about their audience enough to respond, especially that in-depth. Thanks for posting that, Ali.

That one part makes me especially happy. Now we at least have some hope that season five will be better than season four...not that it could be much worse, but you never know with this show, lol.

Now, about this...

Spoiler: next season

Car wreck thing. Eric and Calleigh are friends. They've always been friends. And because they're friends, I don't think it would be too, too far-fetched to hope for a little "hey, I'm glad you're okay," from Eric. Throw in a couple of smiles, a few meaningful looks, and maybe a light touch on her arm or something, and that would make my day.

 

Well, that sounds like good news, at least. I'm gonna write to him, too. They need to see that the E/C fandom is huge.

And welcome back, Caramelchan! It's nice to see people returning.

 

Yeah, if we all write to him then maybe it'll spark him to write a very E/C eppy or even pitch the romance idea to whoever needs to hear it. I know Adam said their had been rumors about it before but it was too early. I think they've waited long enough now.

If other writers get to see how great they are together hopefully they will write them together.

Even if we don't go 'canon' next season, things are looking quite positive for our ship .

E/C Fandom is huge. We're just no as loud as other fandoms.

 

We should be. They are clearly the most realistic couple on Miami, and by far the hottest. I'm glad you're all writing to Miller, his e-mail was very nice and he responded quickly. He's very open to suggestions too. It's time for us Hip Huggers to step up and be heard. It can only help our cause to have an executive story editor on our team .

 

Corey's a really cool guy, from what I hear. He's just been unlucky to be saddled with such a horrible name.

Well, I don't want us all to e-mail him at once, cause then it'll be too obvious. So I'll wait a bit while someone else e-mails him.

Mine fell out again yesterday, hopefully this will inspire it to return. I just watched 'Wannabe', love the E/C ants thing. Calleigh really cracked me up with that. And of course them with their 'sex toy'. There was nice touchage when he helped he out of the ant pit too.

 

What I love about that scene is that Calleigh is wearing tape around her ankles and wrists. She probably taped her own ankles, but who taped her wrists? Oh yeah, baby.

They totally should've shown that part.

 

Hell yeah! I really should get my mind out of the gutter one of these days.
