I can imagine Eric saying everything from 'I like you' (now, that would be an understatement of the year) to 'I love you'. Imagining Calleigh's response is much more difficult. She's tends to play close to the chest and we still don't know how much her near death experience is going to change her and in what way. I mean, she will probably realize that life is way to short and that she should be with Eric and fully use every single day of her life, but I'm not sure if she'll open up enough to say something like 'I love you (too)'. I could imagine 'I have very strong feelings for you', 'I want to give us a shot', 'I'm sorry for not letting this happen sooner' (this one is when they get together)... I'm just not sure how far the writers will go, and how far they can go without doing something that is out of character. But, then again, we don't know what will be in and what will be out of character after the next episode.
I can imagine the next thing happening:
Eric comes to visit Calleigh in the hospital (and brings the flowers, of course). He tells her how deep his feeling are, that he wants to be more than friends, that he's sorry for not telling her sooner... She brings her hand to his cheek and then somebody (Alexx???) interrupts them. Latter, somewhere at the end of the episode, we see them leaving the hospital together, and she takes his hand and threads their fingers or something like that. That way, he said what he feels, the interruption gives her the time to think about it without running away and she makes the first physical contact. What do you think?
