Man i am dying to see that promo!! thank god we dont have to wait that long for the episode :)
Im pretty excited for this one with whats been said.

When does 714 air? b/c i think thats where we'll get something official with these two, ya know with Calleigh ending up in the hospital an all. I hope he gets her flowers or gets really worried when he finds out shes in the hospital or something and i hope he opens up to her. :adore:

714 is going to air on 2/2.....the 26th is a repeat of "Resurrection"

Yeah I agree.....714 is hopefully going to be our shining moment.

It may not be the defining moment that gets them together but I think it will play a HUGE part in getting them there. :D

Someone needs to upload that promo. I saw bits and pieces of it last night when it aired during Flashpoint but I caouldn't totally make out all of it b/c my friends were being loud!

bulletgirl, make sure you use spoiler tags on episodes that hanvt posted yet...but i totally agree w/ what youre saying

I saw the promo too, and it looks interesting. I don't think that Calleigh will ever seriously consider dating this guy because it looks like he's part of an active investigation, and for her to date him would be unethical. Now, she's not above flirting to get information from a material witness (Grand Prix). It looks like Eric is going to end up being jealous of whatever she does. The poor guy is in a no-win situation here. I hope what ever the writers, in their infinite wisdom, decide to do, they use this to push Eric and Calleigh forward and not backward a huge step. Like you said Marija, Calleigh flirting with the guy to intentionally hurt Eric would be totally out of character for her. Hopefully, whatever happens, Eric will be forced into finally verbalizing what it is he feels for Calleigh.

*Crosses Fingers*:)

Damnit, I hate it when I miss things. So here are my thoughts based on what you all saw:

Calleigh wouldn't purposely make Eric jealous because she knows how he feels about her. (Even if he still hasn't verbally said it) Eric wears his emotions on his sleeve and unfortunately when it comes to Calleigh its 10 times worse. I've gotta watch and rewatch the new promo to actually catch the meaning. Promos always have that double meaning. Hopefully Eric will say something to her about his feelings for her, even though I think she won't know how to say how she actually feels until 7x14.

considering last weeks little "friends" and "lover" promo and this week "the chase is on" and everything having a double meaning, last week we got confirmation that something is obviously between them, now it is up to Eric to pursue her (ie the chase) and I think the trainer is a means to an end (as far as the writers are concerned). Whether Cal does it on purpose or not is an entire other issue. I personally don't think she does b/c as we have all said, that is NOT her. But again, considering the conversation, the ball is now in his court to actively pursue her and this ep is the beginning of that. She basically left he door open for that to occur last ep. She may have wanted verbal confimration from him but at the same time, I think, she was subliminally telling him "hey you want me, come and get me. But be sure of what you want when you do." ;)

Well I haven't seen so that's really only my view of it

I wouldn't be surprised if she used that guy to push Eric in the right decision. I'm absolutely certain too she doesn't want to hurt him, but I have the feeling she has come to a point where she really needs him to go forward. Maybe showing him that there are other guys out there who are interested in her might do the trick. If he gets a little jealous, it might loosen his tongue and they will be able to discuss what's between them and how serious it is. One thing is sure I'm not concerned about that cowboy. She is definitely not interested to look elsewhere at the moment... If she were she wouldn't have confronted Eric in 712. It's him she has on her mind, but she can't wait for ever...

And she wants him to know that she can't and/or won't wait forever for him to say something to her. The longer he waits the more she will begin to think that he doesn't know what he wants.

Like I said earlier, this guy is just a means to an end that the writers are using to move things along. He is only slated to be in this one ep and there is NO WAY the writers would do another triangle. They are NOT that stupid.

I agree with both of you. I don't think anyone would be that stupid to write another triangle, especially not when the two persons are the same.

I think that, in a real life, where Calleigh and Eric would be a real people, and with anything that happened between them (and by that I mean Jake), if she was to do something like flirt with some other guy to get his attention, he would just sent her to hell and be done with her, because, IMO, that would just bring back memories of Jake and that she chose him. Of course, this is a TV show, and, let's be honest, most of the people watching the show want these two together, so the writers wouldn't be stupid not to make it happen. Let's keep our spirit up, because if we don't nobody will.

Marija you couldn't have said it better! I love the point you said about someone dating someone before they know they want to settle down with the other and have a family. That must be a load for Calleigh to think about.

So now, we definately know that:

~Calleigh wants to start developing their relationship and wants to know that she's loved and is waiting sorta desparately for Eric to tag along and make it work.

~Cal is frustrated that he won't speak out and is sad because of it.

~Eric wants to lover her, tell her he loves her and wants to spend his life with her. But has trouble in admitting his feelings for her. He definately doesn't want to make a wrong move with her. Because this IS Calleigh we're talking about, a very serious woman and very different from what he usually settles for. So it's definately a change and a leap to a better, longlasting relationship.

~Both know what each other wants to the very last detail but isn't really sure because each wont talk to each other about it. Calleigh is trying to get through to him, he wants to too, but is having trouble. All Eric needs to do is share his feelings even more.

~Eric is indeed making progress in talking to her. Eg in season 6 'Bang Bang...' he seriously couldn't open up and tell her, we was too afraid to. But now, when she asks what's wrong or what's up he is talking to her freely like Monday's epi 'head case'. So he just needs a bit more time to come through, and he will. And although she might not notice it, but Calleigh also has to come through a bit more too. SHe'll realize this in 714.

Quote: 'You don't know who you are...' Horatio
'...till all hell breaks loose' Cal.

Will it happen?

For my point of view I suggest you read my story 'What Went Missing From the episode' on Fanfiction.com.

Well Marija I don't agree... ;)
I'm probably older than you and I have seen a lot of people accept a lot of crap from their loved ones and others who patiently waited for their love interest to be single again. Hope dies last... When you really love someone, you're ready to accept a lot. If he were to give up just because of that, it would should what Calleigh fears: that his feelings are not as deep as he thinks. She dated Jake a long time ago and at a time he chose to remain silent. He would hardly blame her if once more, she would ride in the sunset with another guy... He would blame himself for not having taken up on her offer.

Not only that, she also fears that his feelings might not be real b/c she obviously feels something for him, otherwise she never would have confronted him on Monday.

Yeah if he says nothing again while she "rides off into the sunset" then he really has no one to blame other than himself. She gave him the opening and again I could see why he said nothing b/c he was shocked but if he stands idlely by for too long and she moves on, he has no one to blame but himself.

Thank God there's something we disagree about, at least a little bit. ;)

I must say that I agree that Eric would have no one else to blame but himself if Calleigh got together with another guy because he was too afraid to pursue her, but I think he would be (and would have every right to be) very angry at her if she did it only to make him jealous. Of course, Calleigh wouldn't do that, because it's just not like her, so I don't really know what was in my head to think about something like that, but I did, so...
Still, I think she should wait for him, because if he could have waited for her for 2 years, it's the least she can do. And I'm sure she will.

My guess is that the guy is going to flirt with her, she'll give him a smile or two, they'll ride horses and she'll go away and never see him again. And, like someone said, it's entirely possible that she'll try to find out something about a case during that ride, because we don't really know when in the epi that's going to happen, so... Everything is possible. I know I'd like to see one thing: protective Eric. You know, if a guy starts flirting with her in front of him, and he gets all serious and a bit mad at him... Oh, do you remember that wonderful EC epi where Eric's friend starts to hit on Cal, and Eric says something like: "Easy..."? I think that's the same episode where Calleigh tells Eric that her eyes are green, I can't remember the name. Anyway, I can imagine something like that happening, just with less playfulness in Eric's foice and facial expresion.

Oh yay! I caught the promo tonight. I watched it 3 times...yes I know, I am getting help...:guffaw:

So Eric and Calleigh are talking at the scene. He mentions something about her going over to his place so I'm thinking that he wanted to talk about "them" and she chickened out or she tells him that something came up and she couldn't make it. I think she goes horse riding because she hasn't been in a long time but that guy is no threat to Eric because Eric will kick his butt...

Marija, The episode you were thinking about was Death Grip, the friend was actually Jeff Corwin from Animal Planet and yep, that was the one where it was mentioned that her eyes are green.
