Episode #614 - You May Now Kill the Bride ***CONTAINS SPOILERS***

Quick question - the credits said that Stetler was going to be in this one - was this a typo or mix-up w/next week's ep., or did his part just get cut out? Just interested to know, since he was mentioned for this episode, and then no Stetler.

I enjoyed the ep. Nothing was found out in the first 5 min like it has been. LOL Calleigh looked awesome in the wedding veil didn't she? Anyway, I loved the ending how they worked that all in. Wasn't focused all on Horatio this time. No one liners from what I remembered. Have to re-watch since I was somewhat busy at that time & didn't see from beginning to end only parts of it. So , if I'm wrong then I stand corrected. Was just refreshing to see something new. LOL

Being the first ep back since the strike I thought it was going to be one exciting ride...instead it was a slightly above average story that has nothing to do with what else went on all season. Kind of like a book in a series that I've read that was completely out of place.

The song that Susan was "walking down the aisle" to really bothered me, no smart bride would use that. The music editor needs a head check because that kind of stuff is getting annoying and over done.....because it shows up in every ep!

The whole story was blah, jealous friend tries to get rid of the enemy and ends up killing his best friend's girlfriend. Can we get some orginality in this, please? To quote the Barenaked Ladies: "It's all been done before".

The Ryan/Eric/Calleigh scenes were nice and light, helped more the ep along. Though they were the only parts that I really enjoyed. Definetly a red, white, and yellow ep, with a bit of purple thrown in at the end for Alexx. See paid more attention to the details than the case, which is pretty sad.

Over all I give this a 5.5/10. I would have given more if the case actually caught my attention. Oo

Overall - I thought it was an ok episode. When the best man put his hand in his pocket for the ring - I wondered if something would come of that....I don't know...call it a gut feeling.

I honestly don't remember much of H in this episode and I don't remember his scenes with Calleigh. I guess it was good that it was not centered around H drama.

I think there was something cut out. I heard Ryan and Calleigh were supposed to have another scene and they were discussing Stetler.

Overall, I give the episode 6/10.

The editing was abhorrent. I'm tired of the split screens, the 'camera' shoots with greyscale, the quick cutting, etc. They don't need to make the episode cool by adding in silly techniques that end up making the viewer more blind then entertained.

And I didn't quite understand the whole slow-motion, un-speaking tenseness during the beginning and Calleigh's scene with the dancer. It was all a little put-on and over-dramatic for my tastes. I could have been much simpler. Of course, with a storyline this boring, what's one to do? At least the wardrobe was normal.

Horatio seemed a little more than pissed this time around. Right, yeah 'cause Marisol died on her wedding day and this bride died on her wedding day, OMFG call the Coast Guard! Please, he knew her for a week. And how many times are we going to be reminded of this by people telling Horatio "you don't know what it's like to lose someone you love". WE. GET. IT.

I love Horatio dearly but, please come back down to planet Earth. Just for a visit?

The way the evidence was pulled together was pretty good and it made sense. I was thinking to myself, if this were an earlier season, it would probably work out okay and be believable. I guess I just can't get past all the stupid things those involved with the show are doing to pull in an audience lately. My friends and family used to like/tolerate the show but now everyone thinks it's a farce and no wonder why.

However, I find myself enjoying Delko more and more. He's become so interesting and dynamic all of a sudden! I have a feeling he might get involved with this person at the strip club and then the sky will fall down around his ears again. At least he did the smart thing this time and offered to refer her to someone more qualified to look into her issue. It made sense though that he decided to help her out anyway.

So, what was the deal between Ryan and Delko? Did I miss something in an earlier episode? :wtf: I would have liked to see more Ryan, 'cause he did lighten up the episode a little more.

Does anyone else think Alexx spends more time walking around the lab with folders than she does performing autopsies? *shrugs* I kind of miss that journey through the dead body and all the cool evidence to be found.

I actually cracked up at Calleigh when she was giving those pictures back to the groom. "This one's my favourite."

All in all, It wasn't bad for a post-strike episode, but it wasn't terrific either. Meh.

P.S. Change the opening credits already. Put your editing 'skills' to good use instead of screwing with the actual episodes. :vulcan:

At least the wardrobe was normal.

Are you kidding? Calleigh looked like a snowball. Seriously, Miami, what's up with the block color thing?

I agree, I like the dynamic-ness (is that even a word) of the episode, and I'm one of the select few who actually likes the split screen/subtitles/slow motion whoo-harr. It's fun. Though I can see why people are starting to think Miami has turned into a parody; with H's one liners and endless sunglasses on-off-on-off, it's no wonder. Though I actually didn't see much of it in this epi .

I hope so too. I like the idea of Eric with a woman, only to realize he belongs to someone else *ahem - drags self out of shipper mode*. It was nice that he helped her, but you saw the hesitation and I like that. It wouldn't have been real for him to go 'oh, sure doll, let's do it' all over again, he's not stupid.

:guffaw: Maybe she's been promoted and we don't know about it. It's all paper work as you get up the career ladder.

P.S. Change the opening credits already.

I really think they should. They're old now. They could be funky and cool, like on 'Bones', they have cool opening credits .

I liked the episode, if it was a little predictable. And, I know it sounds awful of me, but I laughed through most of it

I think there was something cut out. I heard Ryan and Calleigh were supposed to have another scene and they were discussing Stetler.

Wow - I'm really surprised at how many scenes have been cut out this season - and some of them are scenes they put in the previews, like Ryan's scene in "Bang, Bang Your Debt." They need to stop all this slow-motion/split screen crap and start filling the time with real scenes, like the one w/Ryan and Cal that was cut. Jeez! If you shoot it (and put it in the previews), please show it!

I thought the episode was okay, but it seemed to me as if it was put together in a hurry, and thus the continuity and editing were off.

1) there was supposed to be something in the episode about a "tally board" of sorts that Stetler put up, and Ryan was trying to be at the top of this board, and thus he was going to take credit for some evidence (or something like that). So, in that one scene where Ryan said something to Eric about not sharing evidence anymore (or something like that) it seemed REALLY out of place. So, bad for continuity and editing...it's like they cut the tally board & forgot all about it when they included that scene.

2) really long extraneous stuff...like how long it took that woman (can't remember her name, wore that yellow shirt) to get the compromising pictures of the groom and give them to Calleigh, and the constant flashbacks to the murder of the bride...could've cut that stuff down and included the tally board stuff.

3) While I'm glad they didn't include the scene at the end between the stripper and Eric (where Eric gives her the check from the groom's friend and thinks about their "connection"), once again leaving that out messed up the continuity...and left that part of the story hanging. They showed us the girl asking for Eric's help, him taking the receipt and running the print, finding out who it was that stiffed her, and him confronting the guy...but they didn't resolve it, they didn't show whether or not he paid the stripper back (or did I completely miss it?)..they just left it hanging.

All this really shows how much they threw this episode together in a hurry. I know they had to due to time constraints after the writers strike, but it doesn't help that the show has declining ratings and then they put out an obviously rushed episode. Makes me afraid of future episodes and if there will be more of this seemingly rushed and disconnected episodes.

Loved, loved, loved the Eric & Calleigh reinactment with the veil. LOVED the look Eric had on his face, and the smiles from Calleigh. While I would have loved for the previews to have been a daydream Calleigh had, I'm okay with how it turned out.

So, Horatio is back to speaking to Calleigh. Nice to see.

Would've liked to see more Alexx...folders and autopsies only for her. I miss the days of old where she seemed to be around a lot more.

Next weeks promos looked really exciting. Can't wait to see it!

My comments watching the episode (I wrote them in the meanwhile!):
-No Horatio beginning one line? :eek:Wow. I'm impressed.
-Am I drunk or that is CALLEIGH IN BALLISTIC TALKING WITH HORATIO:wtf:? How long since we last see her handling a gun in ballistic?
-Delko's face after talking with the girl at the club at the beginning is priceless...:guffaw:
-And Calleigh's in the "touching scene" deserves an Oscar:guffaw:!!!
-Alexx and Horatio's scene: Can't this man speak front-at-people:wtf:?
-Tough Natalia, go girl!!!
-Delko face in the scene with the girl screams: Don't you even try, I'm in love with Calleigh!:guffaw: Jokes apart, great interpretation for Adam Rodriguez!!!
-Frank is glowing:guffaw:!!!
-Oh, my gosh!!! Calleigh ad H. Another scene together!!!
-The veil scene: no daydreaming but I can guess what's in Delko's mind watching his face while looking at Calleigh in all-white wearing a veil:devil:.
Did you know Em was running a fever while shooting that scene:eek:, she had the flu. Poor thing. But she looks great doesn't she?
-Ryan-H scene: That computer is unbelievable:wtf:...
-Calleigh-stripper scene: This slow motion is a bit boring:(. But Em is simply great.
-Those pictures are great. Calleigh is great when she talks about her fav one. ahahahaha :guffaw:
-The phone scene: Here comes Super-H:vulcan::guffaw:!
-I like the last scene, the way the ep ends. It's the first time they use transitions in the right way in the ep! Alexx is always so emotional:)...hope I had seen her more than folder in hands around the lab:rolleyes:!
Ok, the ep was good for being put together in so little time, maybe expectations were a bit higher:rolleyes: but I hope they'll do better in the next ones...but they should definitely stop tricking us with false promos:scream:...hate them...ihihih:guffaw:
7/10 because they all had the flu and it's just the beginning...;)

I liked this episode because it left me guessing on who the killer was. I jumped from the best man to the body guard and then to the groom and so on. l0l
I really enjoyed the Calleigh/Delko scene when she wears the veil, the look on his face is just..adorably cute. xD

Next weeks episode looks really good, I was really excited for this weeks but I didnt like it very well the previews well to me seemed, part of it, totally different from the episode.

I actually really enjoyed the last scene too. :) It reminded me of earlier seasons with the music and the emotions. It fit really well. I would have liked to see the rest of the team included in the last scene, but it was nice to see Alexx ending the episode.

lol, to me it was more normal than her Cat Woman 10-inch heels (up over her pants, I might add ).

Jennifer, You're right, they could have cut down all the slow-mo and constant flashbacks and stuck in a little more girth to the episode. It all did seem a little rushed.

Geni, I was expecting new opening credits, being that they were coming back from hiatus and you think that they would really give the audience a new kind of show. I'm really tired of clips from Season 2/3 when the characters/show have changed so much.

ETA: Jennifer, was the tally board this episode or a following episode? I think it's still a few episodes ahead.

I thought the tally board was in that script for this episode that was posted on that one spoiler site. I could be wrong though.
