See, my resoning is that they can't just constantly send us messages of DL all s2 and then call it quits during s3 by bringing in a new girl. If anything, like you all said, it will take the heat off of Lindsay, since she won't be "the new girl" anymore.

girlygirl and csi_watcher_8: agreed 100%. Hawkes and Flack need some lovin' in this show too! x]

^ I agree LadeeBear. It would be beyond inconsistant to suddenly drop this and waaaaay soap opera-ish to have some new detective get between them.

As for Lindsay-haters, ignore them and think happy thoughts :)

I agree, they wouldn't build them up just to shoot them down with this new girl. That would be mega soap opera-ish, and it would make me mad because they made my other show a huge soap thing too.... I would shhot myself in the foot if they messed up our M&M's...

Good point. I don't think they would build them up just to shoot them back down with the new girl. I think that would be a stupid thing to do!!! I do wonder though, how often the new girl will be on the show. Like, will she be on every episode like Flack? or in just a few like Maka?

I think she'll be on just a few episodes, like Maka, and only for the first few episodes of S3 while Flack's recuperating. I mean, Flack's already in the main credits so I don't think they'd downsize his time with a B-plot character, especially after the focus they put on him in the S2 finale.

I agree they won't downgrade him. I think the new det. is just going to be a B character. We know that the other shows have a lot of them. But NY seems to keep losing theirs.

Do remember though- the B characters aren't tied by contract to the show, so if a better opportunity comes, they have every right to take it. Kelly Hu (Maka) got cast as a lead in another TV show, so she obviously wanted to take that opportunity.

I don't think TPTB will drop DL, because they've done far too much building this season to do it. This relationship has been built even more than Mac and Stella because so much of it has been on screen, and not implied. I think the writers for NY seem to be good enough not to fall into the soap opera trap.

oh thank you for the welcome back..but honestly when i heard about the new detective i was shocked..i dont want anything to compermise the d/l 'relationship' that would end badly..and someone would be beaten down..harshly.....with a bat.............several times..ok im done

thank you for agreeing w/ me..but oh my goodness..my mom..did the best thing for me..she ordered a pack of M&MS for me..but these arent just any M&MS..these say 'danny' and 'lindsay' and some say 'd/l love' on them..OH MY GOSH..AHHHHHH *FREAKING OUT*

Kelly Hu is working on a new show anyways, so Maka isn't going to be on CSI:NY for S3. The new detective will probably take her place, and might even bring about the push to have Danny and Lindsay admit their feelings. You know, one of those:

Danny- I was not flirting with the new girl, Montana.
Lindsay- You were too, Danny.
Danny- Why does it bother you so much, anyway?
Lindsay- It doesn't. Can we just...
Danny- Don't walk away from this.
*insert declarations of love and much kissage here*

I didn't know that my 'bungee jumping' scenario would get such a response as it did. Thank ya. :D Maybe I should come up with some more---don't worry Iheart, I'll include some angst! :cool:
