Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let go

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

I miss teasing too. Watching season 4 over again is making me like DL less. Don't get me wrong I like them, I ship them, but the bantering that drew them together just wasn't there. It really is difficult to watch these two with so much drama. It was almost better [gulp] when they were just flirting, not actually an item. nce they got together, I feel like verything went down hill. If TPTB could incorporate the 'old' DL into their dating, it would be rockin'!

The angst certainly doesn't really go hand in hand with the lighthearted banter. Although having said that, I did like the fact that despite everything that was going on they still slipped into the banter in LWFM, until Lindsay remembered that it had all gone awry that is.

I have to say, if tptb have decided to end D/L as a romantic couple then I hope they do it quickly and get them back to the banter and friendship that made them so appealing in the first place. It's not the way I want them to go but I'd prefer it to them dragging out the angst across another season. We've already had two seasons that have been dominated by the angst so let's have some fun or at least let's have them dealing with the angst together either as a couple or as friends.

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

I don't want them to break up but I really do agree with you, Jelly, if it's gonna end for good then they better just get it over with and have them as friends.

I'm also on the Team Lindsay Protection Front, though again, I want it to be more light hearted. Make it comical, NYPD vs FDNY (I know, I've got an obsession with the boys in uniform!) playing pool. Have Messer in the final game getting his ass whipped then enter WHMM to pull the home side to victory. Tequila optional. ;)

I'm really going for the banter here. Let's edge towards normality one ass saving at a time. :D

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

YAY! The NYFD vs. NYPD again! Man I haven't heard that in a while! Can you just see Lindsay surrounded by big, strong firemen? I think Danny will be introduced to the phrase of seeing red.

I really do not want to see them break up. I am wishy washy when it comes to them either staying together or if they are better off as just friends. At the moment, I just can't see them together as just friends. Too much has been said and done for that to be happened. I guess I am all right with them going back to friends if and only if there is the potential of them getting back together. This time on a more honest basis of a relationship with everything out in the open. Danny needs to let it all out in my opinion.

Also on the note of saving, can we just not have the option of either of them saving each other? Maybe from embarrassment at a club or something...but please GOD not Danny is trapped or Lindsay is held hostage! Let's keep that for Mac please? *sigh*

Me neither, but if it's a choice between having them as friends or having them in some sort of half baked relationship that isn't based on honesty that will continue with us having to guess what the heck is going on then I'm all for the friends thing.

As for it being difficult for them to be just friends then I agree but I think it depends on how it's done. If, as people in another thread have said they'd like to see, Danny ends up choosing to be with Rikki then no, I can't see them being friends.

I think that would be a dangerous path for tptb to go down. They've shown Danny pleading with Lindsay to tell him she loves him again in person, so to have him then say 'I don't want you, I want her' would make him a heartless jerk. At the moment his actions have been kind of understandable bearing in mind we don't really know the status of D/L and also that Danny is an emotional, guilt ridden character.

While there are people on this board who find Lindsay to be a heinous character, I really do believe them to be in the minority. I'm not saying we're in the majority because I don't think we are. I suspect the majority are people who don't really care who ends up with who as long as the crime genre of the show is respected and the integrity of the characters they love is maintained. I don't see how tptb can maintain Danny's integrity if they show him to treat Lindsay like that. It goes way beyond her treatment of him when they were just colleagues with UST. It's obvious they've had some sort of relationship since then (even if it's just been friends with benefits) and now he knows Lindsay loves him, and apparently wants her to love him.

It's possible though that Lindsay doesn't want him back. That would be a reasonable way for tptb to go if they want to break them up, to have Lindsay find out about Rikki and for her to make the decision just to be friends. That would be tough on Danny if he wants more, but it's possible for them to do it without anyone looking too bad. I really can't see tptb wanting any of them to come off as jerks in this. Obviously some people already see Lindsay that way, but I really don't think tptb have created her that way, or want her to be seen like that.

Just dropping by to add my 2 cents...

I agree with what you've said Meg, I don't think, that after all they've been through, that they could just put it behind them and go back to being friends, I think that after having a relationship like theirs, going back to simply being friends wouldn't work... They clearly still have feelings for eachother, which would get in the way of a normal friendship. I also agree, that Danny needs to tell her what happened, if she truely loves him, which I think she does, she'd be able to find it in her heart to forgive him, and things could go back to how they were before. I really miss them as a couple, they are simply adorable together...

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

Hey Steph! You are here! *does a little dance of happiness!*

It would be really hard for me to see them as just friends but if I know that some day they go back to that amazing chemistry and banter they had going on then fine! Be friends! *sarcasm by the way* The best lovers are the best friends as they say  Honestly though I don't think either Danny or Lindsay want to break up or are going to. It just isn't in the cards for them to. If they show Danny going off with any other person, it doesn't necessarily have to be Rikki, then that is making him into a heartless guy which is not the intention I think the writers have in mind. That is why I think they will be back together if they were together at all. Maybe not in the near future but at some point in the next season would be nice.

Now does this look like a man who just wants to be friends?

No this to me does not look like a man who just whats to be friends. I hope that tptb have really thought about what they are going to be doing with this couple next season! I would love to see next season end along the lines of Snow Day (the pool table bit not the kidnap amd blowing up bit).

I can't wait to watch Boo again in a week or two!

I'll second that. The way Danny talked to Lindsay about what was going on with them two, the chemistry between them, it was definetely not about friendship. Danny obviously has feelings for Lindsay. Yea they slept together but that doesn't always mean something, right? But the way they act together, how he worries about her and she worries about him. How about that one episode where she goes in undercover for the girls that stole the jewelry and gets made. When he runs in and he holds her, that isn't just a friendship hug right there! How sweet is that scene? One of my favorite D&L moments!

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

*waves*

Feels like a while since i've been here, been busy at work full of cold and new obsession with watching Gossip Girl.

But... I have to say i agree with people on the fact that if they do indeed end it *curses the dreaded words* they would need to repair it pretty quick to make it worth it. Though i think it would work in a more they mutually agree to being better friends than lovers and let it be then it could be handled possibly easier.

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

I would love to hear some little spoliers about DL but I guess we are all going to have to wait until season 5 starts to see what tptb have in mind. I hope that they don't "end things (goes into a corner to have a cry :(:( if they do:brickwall:).

I would love to know that they are have had "the Talk". Okay things maybe be difficult but they would be working on them because they want to be together.

:angel:Wishing really hard and sending loads of fluffy thoughts to the DL writers. PLEASE, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WITH SUGAR ON TOP!.

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

So what have I missed ? Apart from pages of DL discussion :) It is good to see that you are all still interested and dare I say excited about what may happen for our favourite couple next season. I am torn between wanting Danny and Lindsay to get back together but also realising that it should not be as easy as that given everything that has happened between them. Part of me hopes that TPTB do not rush to resolve things for them both, I want to see them talk and build trust which is going to take time. Hmmm, time - not one of CSI NYs strengths!

With 3 seasons running here in the UK at the moment, I am getting "the Good, the Bad and the Ugly" of our ship . Season 2 is all good - looking back at it now especially after that dreaded recent season, it seems like the 'Enchanted' era of their relationship - all fun and light and flirting :) Season 3 is the Bad - but in a good way ie the angst variety with Love Run Cold . Which leaves us with the Ugly of Season 4. Watching it knowing what is coming makes me analyse their relationship even more. Athought there is some great banter (Commuted Sentences), there does seem to be a lack of something from Danny. He definitely appears distant at times but then again it could just be me!

This may seem off topic but it is DL related. Way back when I joined this board, there was a lot of love for Mr Buble  and darling Mo made a delightful DL video for his song 'Everything' which got me hooked on his music and the rest is history..... guess who I am seeing in concert tomorrow :D:D:D:D Where is Liffy? he will be jealous

Get me - I'm a Prime Suspect!!

YAY Bella congrats on your promotion! To be honest I haven't heard much of Mr. Buble's music but I really do love saying his name  *buble, buble buble*

Nice reference to a Clint Eastwood movie! That is the definition of the DL relationship at the moment *sigh* It can't get much more uglier than it is right now can it? :( I think I am going to go into my little corner and cry because this is really frustrating me. All my worst nightmares are coming true for all my ships. Peaches, Nanny Carrie? She must be Lady V's half sister or something

Over 900 posts people! You know what that means!

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

Woo! Yay, Bella. I'm also loving the Good, Bad, Ugly reference. Really couldn't get any worse.

I must say though, I don't read too much into Danny during the first half of Season 4, we start becoming a little paranoid. I much prefer the hunting of give away feelings during the previous two seasons. And strangely enough after Lindsay's confession, you know?

I stand by my stance and don't really care if I get stuck up here, but that man wants her ass back! They hold hands, no flinching twice during part one so I think it's all good.

Season 2, that's where it starts to get a little dirty isn't it. Tongue porn did ya call it
Meg? That's what we need, some dirty phone calls to get them back on track. We do know now that they can talk on the phone without yelling at each other and it can be easier to say stuff semi anonymously rather than face to face.
Yes we can have them talk out other stuff but I really just wanted to throw in some gutter. Keep the troops happy and all. ;)

*Runs away, once again mesmerised by Jensen Ackles' mouth. Those lips? Oh my!*

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

I'm not sure that Danny was distant particularly. I just get the sense he's not into the whole pda thing. That's certainly the sense I got in The Deep when he told her to stop goofing off. I've seen people post comments re. the condom scene and how he looked uncomfortable at the implied intimacy when she put the spray in his pocket (because of course they've only had sex once and he's really just not that into her ). I didn't see it like that at all, he looked like he was enjoying her demonstration immensely and took his look at that moment to be wariness at the implication of having to use the spray. I get the sense Danny would be sexually liberated up to a point but that spraying 'german engineering at it's finest' on his piece may be taking that liberation a little too far.

In most D/L scenes at work he has a bit of a brusque attitude, it's just the way he is and kinda what I like about their dynamic. I love how Lindsay smiled at him in the stop goofing off comment, she wasn't fazed at all and I took that as her understanding perfectly well that he's not into all the mushy stuff while at work. It makes sense, Danny loves to portray himself as emotionally unaffected when it comes to women e.g. the whole love convo with Mac and the 'I don't cuddle' comment.

He reached out to her in a very subtle way in Boo!, although I think he'd have done that as a friend anyway. Then, in Commuted Sentences he resorted to his snarky, jesting self vis a vis the 'love handles' comment but very quickly shifted the dynamic with his 'stop fighting me', all nicely wrapped up under the guise of re-enacting a crime scene. It fits with his personality that Danny would hold back on the pda's atwork but it also fits that if he can disguise the display he'd go for it because deep down he's an affectionate guy. :)

Re: Danny/Lindsay #22: I've fallen in love with you...and I can't let

yeah, DL defies the time-spaces continuum. while our love birds completly ignore (personal) space, TPTB bends time to their will

love the Good, Bad & Ugly reference. it so fits. lets just hope S5 doesnt turn into Unforgiven but rather into Perfect World *makes a wish on a star*

I agree with JellyBelly, I dont really see him as distant. he just has a different way of showing affection when on clock. the problem is, we never really saw them off-the-clock in S4. except of the phone call but they were in a really strange state of their relationship at that point.

I still like the idea of them talking a lot on the phone (and I can totally see him trying to talk her into phone sex). it would give them the space they both need to sort out what needs to be sort out but still be close in a sense.

I want them to sort this mess TPTB created before they becaome an item again. they dont need more drama and we all - DL included, deserve some happiness.
