Danny/Lindsay #21: The future’s in the bag!

^You're soo right about the creativity! Some of the cases you think, Man, are you for real?!

We've had people who's DNA displayed an XX chromo instead of an XY, can't remember if LV MD or NY. Tree sap placing an infertile man as the rapist. Then the roach guy? He really should've been in LV with Big G sympathising instead of Danny's 'So you killed a guy over a cockroach?'

Pfft, I'm late for work, a little half day shift and I still spend my time here. I love it really!

*rushes about like DL pretending they weren't making out when they were supposed to be analysing data;)*

and I'm passed the sadness, and I'm just annoyed now.

well, Im bordering on angry but Im giving them a few more eps before searching for the pitch fork

they really should keep the drama to the cases and let the fluff rule the wonderfulness that is DL

are we sure Shonda what-ever-is-her-name isnt secretly doing re-writes on the scripts? she got bored of her own little melodramatic world and decided to spread the drama else where

Then the roach guy? He really should've been in LV with Big G sympathising

now that would have been a funny episode to watch :) and you are so right about the crazy cases. sometimes I just feel like What the hell were they smoking when they wrote THAT?

I'm a little protective when it comes to my DL :p This storyline has ALOT of potention for benefitting DL. The only problem is that my trust in the writers to not screw it up is quite low right. After all we've been promised for this season, we've gotten absolutely nothing. This little dip into soapy territory can be good, if it's handled well, to the point, and concise. But there's also alot of potential of screwing everything up. I'm mad at that.

they really should keep the drama to the cases and let the fluff rule the wonderfulness that is DL
Even if the drama afflicts DL, it should in some way have something to do with the cases too. I'm sure someone is going to read this and say "but Ruben died, and was part of the case". Yes - RUBEN, not his mother. Now the storyline's just been dragged on for too long, and people complained about the 333 caller being tedious? What about this? It's even MORE annoying to watch.

Have DL fight over as they try and figure out if someone was guilty or not, have them disagree over each other's views - those kind of things help build relationships. They're learning together. This one is simply backing Danny into a corner. There is no way they can develop R's character at all. With DL they can - there is far more creative potential with where they can take DL.

are we sure Shonda what-ever-is-her-name isnt secretly doing re-writes on the scripts? she got bored of her own little melodramatic world and decided to spread the drama else where
Rhonda Shimes? Haha, it'd be funny if Danny's guilty and we suddenly get a commentary by Meredith Grey. Or maybe she might make a cameo appearance in Lindsay's dream, telling her to get up and find her man and tell him you love him! :guffaw:

sometimes I just feel like What the hell were they smoking when they wrote THAT?
The cases in NY are sometimes a little boring. If they wanted to gain more loyal viewers, spend more time developing more complex storylines. Engage the viewer, make it fun, interesting, yet understandable and not overly obnoxious. I liked Some Buried Bones (maybe that's because of Nelly), but I still thought it was a little weak. The ghost thing was a nice touch though. :)

*rushes about like DL pretending they weren't making out when they were supposed to be analysing data;)*
*pets DL* Don't worry, I'll do the data analysing...you just go back to making out ya hear? ;)

are you sure you want Meredith Grey to be giving anyone love advice? she can't even get herself together most of the time with all her relationships lol. i do sense in some shows now that they're trying to get some GA-type drama going on b/c GA is so popular and is always talked about. but what works on Grey's doesn't always mean it'll work for others.

....anyway....

i'm all for the fluff and romanticness of D/L but i don't want it to get in the way of what the CSI shows are about: the crimes and their stories come first then the relationships. don't get me wrong i'm a HUGE D/L fan i love any scene they have together, i just don't want to get sick of seeing them. i do agree with you Gaelen that they should have some arguments over things in cases where they can learn together. i know that not all relationships are smooth sailing but not all relationships have soo much drama either.

the writers just need to let Danny and Lindsay be happy and together as individual characters before they can make them really happy as a couple. both characters are like what in their early 30s but they both have a lot of growing up to do first. sometimes it feels like they both had strong feelings for each other before they were really friends (if that doesn't make sense in anyway i apologize, studying math has my mind a very thick fog).

maybe with some of the things coming up for D/L it'll show them starting over and really getting to know each other better.

What was that episode where Mac at the end finds a couple together in bed almost dead (all I can remember is that it's from this season)

It was "Boo". Remember the guy was trying to get the insurance money. Then it ended up that he drugged the Boyfriend, and wife for revenge. Good eppy.

Anyway. Hi all. Not much longer and well, secrets will be revealed. I am just too excited. Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait.:p

Muchas gracias friend! Man usually I love my fluff, but I am actually looking forward to all of this angst. I don't think that is a bad thing at all. right?

Hey if I post this, no one can throw things at me.....

I just got bored and continued backing up my video of the "scene". Don't ask how many times because it was too many, way to many to count.

Like I said don't throw things at me. It ain't Linds. The eyes shape and eye brow structure is NOT Lindsay's. So....well....crap....that is depressing. It wouldn't be so drepressing if I could HONESTLY say that it was me in a lip lock with Danny.....HAHA:guffaw:, BUT being as it's not:confused: I don't know what to tell ya. And yes I know patience is something I must develop. But it has NEVER be my strength. OK. So I am going to hide now. But be gentle with me.

Oh well c'est la vie (thats the life) but being television, drama is needed, and I am starting to be OK with that! I have strong belief that they will get over this but it is going to take a lot of time and patience. (and something called communication...shocking I know!)

As they say in Galaxy Quest: "Never give up, never surrender!"

I hope to god that the writers aren't angling for that, because I seriously will stop watching the show. CSI:NY has its own pull, it doesn't need to go and borrow dramatic ideas from other shows. It's a crime procedural. It's not meant to have that kind of drama. I'd rather watch Grey's because their writers are actually specialised in that kind of writing.

I agree. I don't want to see the relationships take over the show. Although I do watch CSI:NY for DL, I still don't want to see them all the time. Even if drama is needed once in a while, like I said before, it should be in context to the case itself in some ways. As much as I want to see DL squabbling about their bedsheets, I'd rather leave that to my imagination. Drama like Danny going head to head with Mac is good, seeing Lindsay pound someone into smitherines is good. Otherwise it's too distracting from the case.

the writers just need to let Danny and Lindsay be happy and together as individual characters before they can make them really happy as a couple. both characters are like what in their early 30s but they both have a lot of growing up to do first. sometimes it feels like they both had strong feelings for each other before they were really friends (if that doesn't make sense in anyway i apologize, studying math has my mind a very thick fog).
Exactly. They're not teenagers anymore, but they've both got a lot to learn too. TPTB should focus more on the cases and just bring DL's relationship out once in a while from the background. We should still see them of course, flirting and smiling but nothing that's too far away from their working environment. Watching them discuss a case over some coffee or lunch would also be okay.

The secrets are what I'm afraid of. As much as I love being optimistic, I do hope the writers do those scenes justice. I have a feeling we're only going to be able to hear Lindsay's side of the story and the episode will end before we get to hear what Danny has to say about it. That, would mean another week of hell. I hate this.

No, it's not bad. I would too if I had more faith in the writers to do this ship justice. They've just been far too inconsistent that I find it hard to believe anything they say anymore. Preseason 4 interviews had Pam Veasey say DL were in love and formed a 'perfect heart'. Umm...where have we seen this at all? We haven't gotten anything. No kiss, no hug, no confirmation, no nothing. So no, I'm sorry - I find it hard to take anything they say seriously anymore. They just don't follow up on their word. The only thing that's come true is the bump. And unless this bump propels them into a long-term relationship, then I really don't know what to think anymore.

The extended promo is shows us that there's about 90% chance it's Rikki. Hey, there's still that 10% chance it's Lindsay but the angle they shot just looks different right? Who knows. I still dont know if it's even Danny. *shrugs* I'm going to die of anticipation soon :p

Communication is something the writers really need to work on. I find it hard to believe that they haven't talked about it since SD until now. Only in the heads of the writers would that ever happen. I mean seriously, you'd think they'd talk about it the next day, or once Danny's feeling better right? Come on...be a little more realistic TPTB! But then again, if you were realistic, Rikki wouldn't exist anymore, so no hope there

we can do a scene with them together that doesn't involve rescuing each other but still related to the case? Like reinacting the crime scene?
And Liffy (who else? :p) responded:
Well that's pretty much what CS showed us right? But perhaps Lindsay needs help to determine bloot spatter she found on bed sheets. She calls Danny over so he can 'line her up' cos she fit the victim's size. He'd be up close, and even though they're both trying to keep serious and professional, I think they'd both be feeling certain pressures. :) And Danny might just not be able to swoop down for a lil' peck whilst he's pressed against her.
I like the idea of D/L always and everywhere  volunteering to re-enact a crime scene - "Two people in a jaccuzzi?" "No problem, Mac, we'll be there!"

And remember CS was not the first time they did that. How could we forget the famous "Make tracks Cowboy!" scene from Cool Hunter - She even got him to take a break from another case to assist her, like there was no other cop in the city

We're going to get alot more love....and babyBoom!
Yeah, I want me some babyBOOM! :p

OMG! PANIC! I NEED SUPERGLUE!! :guffaw:

I wish Linds could've been trapped in there with him. They'd have so much fun being annoyed at each other, calling each other names, blaming each other until they both just give up, and make out :p
Would've been even more fun when they had been stuck there together and something went wrong with the superglue which left them not only stuck but literally stuck together:guffaw:...Oh how much fun and bickering would that have been...

and all the talk of reanacting scenes made me think of a crime scene at a fair (you know, farris wheels, booths where you can win something) and Lindsay teasing Danny about his throwing abilities.
Oh that's another great idea! (didn't Stuffy write a fic about D/L at a fair once?) Someone being shot with one of the shooting booth rifles and Danny, who's trying to copy the murderers actions, keeps winning stuffed animals...winking at Lindsay "See Montana, it may not be a slingshot and squirrels, but I think you never managed to hit a purple elephant" :rommie:

That could be:(...perhaps TPTB didn't really know how to procede with their relationship after SD and they decided to add the bump and use that to go back to the teasing and bantering...:)

No, it's not! You can join me...I'm totally excited about the next episode(s) and I'm really looking forward to all the drama, but I love angst the most when it has a totally fluffy ending...so that's what I'm counting on.:p

messygirl said:

Nope! And perhaps it's not Rikki either, but we finally get that scene between Danny and Angell :wtf: that was in the spoilers last season....Pissed off Lindsay AND Flack, now that would be drama! <- Just kidding, of course

Well maybe we get a reference to that in the coming eps. Either one of them could say something like "After we slept together, I know that we said we would take things slow..." :scream:

Hmm, I had a thought. Could, theoretically, someone die from too much sex? Bet you DL would volunteer to find out. :) Danny could figure out how long it took before Lindsay passed out from...err...physical exertion. Or the other way around.

And remember CS was not the first time they did that. How could we forget the famous "Make tracks Cowboy!" scene from Cool Hunter - She even got him to take a break from another case to assist her, like there was no other cop in the city
Danny probably made sure before hand that any cop that even had a flickering thought of helping her would end up being flushed in the toilet. That was planned, and it was all Danny's idea. :p How else was he gonna be able to practice carrying his future-bride-to-be and babymama to the bed? :p

Would've been even more fun when they had been stuck there together and something went wrong with the superglue which left them not only stuck but literally stuck together:guffaw:...Oh how much fun and bickering would that have been...
Which parts of them? I'd rather they get 'stuck' another way minus the glue.

Someone being shot with one of the shooting booth rifles and Danny, who's trying to copy the murderers actions, keeps winning stuffed animals...winking at Lindsay "See Montana, it may not be a slingshot and squirrels, but I think you never managed to hit a purple elephant" :rommie:
And Lindsay replies, "No, we only had pink lions." :guffaw:

I like the idea of them getting a fresh start. We haven't had much so far and suddenly seeing them all in love and together would be a bit weird. I think the writers will (or should) take this opportunity to really define where they are, and start their relationship over again. Not their friendship, you can't erase that, but being together. Start over - so that they're happy. And there won't be as many bumps along the way since they'd already gone through the mother of all bumps.

NO MORE ANGST!

I like angst with a happy ending. I just get annoyed when it takes more than one episode. Can't they do angst in the beginning and end with fluff? I mean - they've got an HOUR. It wouldn't hurt to steal 5 minutes from all of Mac's close-ups. :p

Well maybe we get a reference to that in the coming eps. Either one of them could say something like "After we slept together, I know that we said we would take things slow..." :scream:
Hope so...hope so...but I doubt it so... :p

It was "Boo". Remember the guy was trying to get the insurance money. Then it ended up that he drugged the Boyfriend, and wife for revenge. Good eppy.

Oh yeah the Zombie guy - There was another case in that episode? That was a beautiful DL ep. And he definately (did I emphasis enough?) calls her honey - I watched the same 10sec of SODL (cheers Sugah!) repeatedly. Not imagining it at all! Honestly there's no need to say it, Peaches = stalkerazzi much!! :guffaw:

Again, I digress! I truly cannot bring myself to watch last week's ep until you've all seen this week's one & I have braced myself. I refuse to watch the horror that is angst and wait at least 4 days for reassurance/vast amounts of cookies and old footage.

Could, theoretically, someone die from too much sex? Bet you DL would volunteer to find out. :) Danny could figure out how long it took before Lindsay passed out from...err...physical exertion. Or the other way around

Still in the gutter where I left you Liffy? ;) Beautiful, till I can do cosmos, have

*blows kisses in the hope of distracting people from angst*

:evil::eek: You've outdone yourself this time...that's beyond naughty:p...but you're right they would volunteer - And I don't wanna go into detail , but I have a feeling that Lindsay will last longer ;)

That was planned, and it was all Danny's idea. :p How else was he gonna be able to practice carrying his future-bride-to-be and babymama to the bed? :p
Smooth Messer, really smooth...not only 'accidentally' proposing, but now this too...

Which parts of them? I'd rather they get 'stuck' another way minus the glue.
Their hands, dear, their hands :p. I would just love to see them getting totally annoyed because they try to get stuck in the 'other' way and with their hands glued together it's taking longer than they like...:guffaw:

I like angst that is spread out over a couple of eps, but I think we already had that last year, so just one ep would be fine with me . And I too like the idea to use this opportunity to finally let everyone know what their status is and to make it clear to us (before the season is over, please) what their future will be like...will they stay friends without the prospect of that friendship turning into a relationship OR (and this one I prefer, of course) will they stay friends and start dating and such to really try and make their relationship turn into something solid...:)

Peaches:
till I can do cosmos, have
Cheers! And once you've reached 100 posts I can PM you a link for the cosmos and the pom poms if you like.

Yeah, can I order a Danny in above fashion to go? I'm feeling a little hungry myself

100 posts? Well, the speed we seem to be going thru this thread & others shouldn't be too hard :D

Yay for virtual poms, less irritating than the real ones. They don't shed strands of shininess :guffaw:

Lindsay replies, "No, we only had pink lions." :guffaw:

Our Linds is a wise ass! Shoot him down! Then take advantage!

OK, in my mind the strongest relationships comes out of all this angst...so when they are finally together it will be even more sweet and beautiful and I will be squealing like crazy! That is why I am starting to like angst now. I used to hate it but now I can appreciate for what it is.

PS why would you want anyone to die from too much sex?! although I would laugh so hard if that ever did happen. ahh zee gutter what a wonderful place!
