CSI: NY Wish List

^And then the entire series ends with Danny waking up in Flack's bed and saying he had the most interesting dream about the NYPD and it's crime scene investigators.

I just want some continuity. That is all. And, from Lenkov's interview, it looks like we just might be indulged on that score. *would hold her breath until that came true if it weren't for the fact that two people would eat it instead of one*

Well, since this is a "wish" list, let's have it:

1) The return of Daniel Katums. His job isn't finished. Wasn't there one more victim hiding in the bathroom?

2) Danny and Flack exploring their 'friendship.'

3) Danny and Flack exploring each other.

4) Danny and Flack. Period.

Exactly--they pose these questions and give us hints...and then never follow-up? What are they doing, saving it for a rainy day when they don't have enough romance drama to use? At that rate, the show will go off of the air and there will be a thousand unanswered questions that could have really enriched the show if they'd explored them.

I'd much rather see them cut the romance stuff to make way for storylines, instead of the continuity (*gives Peter Lenkov a significant look*).

Anyway, I'm definitely adding my voice to the call for more diversity in the people they have on the show--different races, all body types, people with disabilities (Dr. Giles, where did you go?!), people who aren't rich enough to afford ridiculously extravagant apartments, etc.

So true. It's like the writers keep stringing us along, giving us tiny glimpses and then...*poof*...nada! Whatever happened to this?...or that?

As for the continuity, I'd rather have it over the all the romance going on...It's like, keep the romance to the fans' imagination. That way, everyone is happy and they can just continue to fantasize as to who hooks up with whom.

As to having more diversity with regard to the characters on the show, Amen to that! :)

Agreed on:

Continuity (i.e., linking up the dead FBI agent story to "Snow Day)

Actual resolution to some unanswered questions (i.e., if you're going to tell me Lindsay has a problem with mothers, make me understand why when the story line concludes)

More diversity in cast and story lines (i.e., make me believe the show is really set in NYC)

I would add: (This has been said over and over by many, but here it is again.)

Treat the characters with respect. It is possible to mature Danny without destroying the character created in S1. If I have to be subjected to Lindsay, for the love of God, give the character a personality. I don't care what personality, just give her one and build the character around that. She shouldn't change her personality to fit whatever is going on a particular week. She also shouldn't have her entire development be tied up in Danny. If that's all she is, she shouldn't be a main character.

Please, please, please? Can't serial killers finish their work these days?

Yes, yes and yes. And if Adam watches, can he bring a videocamera??? ;)

Hmmm, Maybe the return of the panic room where Danny was stripped down so wonderfully.....only this time he has Flack for company......mwahahaha

Or, plenty of locker room high jinks......I'm damn sure we're due a shower scene or two for the guys....you know, for being such loyal fans and all

Continuity & background stories.

And by background stories I don't mean who's doing who... I mean little everyday things. Cooking, playing basketball, shaving, hanging at the YMCA, shopping at Tiffany's... Family : Danny's mom, dead in S1 - alive in S2, Flack's "NYPD legend" dad... something like that for all of them. At least 1 line explaining what happened to Louie, Maka, Jane, Reed etc.... Bring the REAL Danny back... Don't ruin Flack' s personality ( e.g weird girlfriend)! Give Lindsay 1 ( one ! ) personality or kill her! Keep developing Mac's & Stella's personality (real people are 3D). Is Hawkes still in the show? Bring the blue collar people back to NY. :p Write around the chemistry between 2 actors, don't push and force it and expect us not to notice that is fake. And I could go on forever...

Edited to say I could put my signature under Faylinn's & ka990' s posts.

In "Blink" Mac said he use to stay with Clair in hospital and in S3 told Reed that her body was never found. Which one is it? I wish that they (the writers) stick to the story. :)

I swear, I read the first part of this sentence as "Bring the lube" and had to do a double-take.

People were begging for a shower scene when I first joined this message board. It's a long time coming, writers!

(Or, you know Joolz, we could give the guys a stopwatch to play with. *whistles innocently and grins at your icon*)

Yes. Don't tell us that Flack mentors kids and then not use it for more than one storyline! And while you're at it, writers, please to be making Hawkes a mentor too. I can definitely see him guiding the younger generation. :D

playing basketball
I mean really, they mentioned this in "Blink" and we have yet to get a scene? :p

Only if he promises to set that baby on a tripod from time to time so he can step in front of the camera to join the boys in action.

I totally agree with everything that PerfectAnomaly said, especially the fact that if we have to suffer Lindsay, at least give her character development away from Danny. The 1 other thing that really p*sses me off in CSI:NY is the amount of episodes that are based on rich, white people. I don't live in New York (and unfortunately have never been) but I'm damn sure that this wonderful city does not begin and end in Manhattan. Come on TPTB, show us some of that grittiness that attracted a lot of us to this programme in Season 1.
P.S. A visit from the continuity fairy would also help :D

I've been lucky enough to visit New York and visit friends who live and work in New York and New Jersey a few times over the last few years :D
One is a NYC taxi driver of foreign origin.....one is a legal secretary born in Long Island who commutes every day from South Jersey where they now live to NYC...........

Neither of them can see any remnants of their or any of their friends day to day lives in CSI NY..........It's too much a show of extremes for them to relate to..........according to them......the rich and the reprobates have the run of NYC...according to CSI NY

It's sad really...... :(

There are really so few shows on tv that accurately portray the city that they're set in. It's truly sad, really, but that would be one of my wishes: that not everyone in NYC (or even Manhattan) be portrayed as beautiful, thin, Caucasian, successful, and able to afford that studio apartment in Trump Tower.
