Head of the Graveyard Shift
With Hospital room quiet, Mac crawled into bed with his wife and daughter.
"How are you truely feeling love. You must have been terrorfied."
"I was. But not for me, for our children and grandchildren. I thought for sure we were all going die. I just kept praying for a miracle."
"Looks like we got one. Also looks like we have some very smart Taylor's in our family."
"Brave too. I mean. Look at little Sharon, being so brave as she headed out to Adam's home. Thank Gos we all live close together."
"Waaaaa,aaaa."
"Sounds like someone is hungry."
Passing his daughter to his wife, he helped her bare her breast, so she could feed their daughter.
"Amazing love. It never cease's to amaze me, how fragile they are, until they are born."
As Mac begun to hum while stroking his daughters cheek, she gripped her tiny fingers within his.
"Mac...help me switch her, this breat is getting sore."
Turning his daughter onto her mothers other breast, she latched on again continuing to suckle.
Meanwhile.....
Michael, Mackenzie, and the kids were cleaning the carpets when the knock came on the door.
"Woof, wooof."
"Shh!!! It's okay guys, lay down."
"Hey Eric, come on in."
"Thanks Michael, want to give me a hand?"
"Sure." Grabbing two of the pizza boxes, he carried them to the living room.
"Eric...you is back. I's missed you."
"I missed you too cupcake."
*Giggling* "I's not a cupcake?"
"Sure you are, you are my cupcake."
"You's is silly Eric. I have pizza now?"
"You sure can. Hey Michael, where is Mackenzie?"
"She's downstairs in the laundry room."
As Eric left Michael to dish out the pizza. Eric headed downstairs when he heard crying.
"Mackenzie....you okay?"
"Oh...hey Eric. Yeah, I'll be fine, just after effects from todays events."
Walking over he wrapped her in his arms, and just held her as she shivered.
"Are you cold Mac?"
"No...umm..it's just I haven't been touched by a man in a long time. Scott wasn't very affectionate."
Turning her in his arms, he looked into her beautiful eyes, and whispered....
"Mac...I can give you sensitive, affection, friendship and eventually love to you and your girls, if you are willing to give me a chance."
Mackenzie thought about it. She knew she never had anything in her four years of marriage with Scott. For he was always insensitve and cold towards her and her children. She cold remember him saying...
"You are just here to parent the children and wait on me. That is what a wife does. She caters, cleans, and listens to her husband, who is always right."
With a tear falling from her eye. Eric softly wiped it, and as he bent down, he kissed her eyes.
"You don't have to answer now Mackenzie. I know you still have to tell your children about their dads death."
"I know Eric. Will you stay with me, will you help me tell them?"
"Of course I will Mac. For as long as you need me."
"Mama...is you and Eric coming up for pizza?"
Tossing Sara over his shoulder, he tickled her.
"Let's go peanut, I'm hungry."
Grabbing Mac with his other hand, they walked down the stairs together.
