Well, if anyone's gonna guilt trip him, it'll be Hawkes. Sheldon has this energy and positivity about him that reflects a certain determination a lot of other people just don't have. He also has some pretty exacting standards and a somewhat idealist outlook imo. In fact, if he wasn't so nice I'd find him annoying! Judging from his criticism of Danny re. the blue flu situation, I think he will definitely see Danny as being lucky and privileged to have a family and that such a responsibility should outweigh his own pain. He'll take the tough love approach I'm sure, but because Danny has such a deep respect for him it will have the desired effect no doubt. Oh, and the fact that Hawkes will handle it so nicely.
Well, true, and I was totally on Hawkes' side during the Blue Flu incident with regards to Danny. And I'm sure Danny will need a kick in the butt in some way to get him motivated to try again.
I'll be honest--I'd rather see Flack there to pick up Danny. Flack would go easier on him than Hawkes perhaps--Flack does coddle Danny sometimes--but I think more than anyone, Flack is willing to do anything for Danny. If Danny needs a kick in the pants, Flack could deliver it in just the right way.
That being said, it sounds like Flack has a lot of his own stuff going on in this episode, which is a good thing. I just hope we're not going to see Flack and Danny having totally separate storylines while they each deal with the crap they're facing.
Agreed. I doubt it will be about Lindsay and I can see Hawkes forcing Lindsay to take a break. I can't see her whining about having to take care of Danny. If it does become too much for her she'll likely bottle it up until she goes 'pop' - that seems to be her usual style. Hopefully having Hawkes' support will help to stop that from happening.
I just don't want to see a lot of poor Lindsay stuff. Things like Hawkes forcing her to take a break... everyone treating her like she's a saint... that stuff is so old. I guess if she really is there for Danny, then she'll be earning some credit for it, but I guess we'll see how much she's actually going to be there for him.
My first thought when I read the spoiler was 'oh no, she ratted him out again - he's gonna be pissed'. While that's likely to be true to a certain extent, I imagine it's going to have been a pretty intense situation. Also, I don't doubt that Lindsay is well aware that Mac is in a much better position to help Don than she is. If she and Don had been shown to have a particularly close relationship then maybe she'd do better to talk to him first but under the circumstances it sounds like he needs help - particularly if he 'freezes' twice during the episode. Don Flack is nothing if not on the ball so him behaving like that speaks volumes about his state of mind imo.
Agreed--Mac is much closer to Flack. Danny's really in no shape to be reaching out--another bummer, because it would be nice to see Danny showing concern for Flack. I kind of hope their issues converge at some point because I could definitely see Danny being a lot less daring and fearless than he has in the past when it comes to shootouts now that he knows firsthand what it's like to get shot.
Edt - I doubt it's Danny's first therapy session. The fact they're obviously jumping ahead from the shooting means he's likely been having therapy for a while. At least, that's the way I see it. The fact that Hawkes seems to be the one who decided Lindsay needed a break doesn't speak of Lindsay foisting Danny anywhere.
True. One other thing I think is cool about the episode is that it seems like Lindsay is going to be in the thick of the action a little more. It looks like she's in on the chase with Flack when the woman draws a weapon on him (since she tells Mac he freezes) so that's cool.
