never-before-realized chemistry... :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:The best joke I've heard in a long, long time. You'd be surprised at how many clairvoyant people are there, then.

This made me laugh

*groans* It's not that I find Mac/Stella horrible, but would it be plausible to have three couples in one team? Plus, I always viewed Mac and Stella as really good friends, without throwing in a romantic aspect. You better freaking do that right, TPTB.

I agree, it better be done right!! I think that three couples is a bit much but since it's almost a sure thing that Angell is not going to be around then that would return things to two couples again. The fact still remains that they would have had three couples from the cast but at least not all at the same time. But we still don't know were this Mac/Stella will really go to so we'll see. I have to say that I am happy about this cause I've loved them together since the beginning :).

From Ask Keck:

Melina Kanakaredes Does Double Duty

Melina Kanakaredes—who went behind the scenes as the writer of CSI: NY’s second-to-last episode of the season, airing May 13—confesses she tried to score a free trip to her homeland by writing a plot involving “evidence in a smuggling ring that takes Stella to Greece in pursuit of a murder suspect.”

Because of the poor economy and looming strike threats, the location shoot in Greece was scrapped. “You can’t kill a girl for trying, right? Now we’re trying to find locations to re-create it.” (Might I recommend Sofi’s Greek restaurant on 3rd?)

The episode will spark never-before-realized chemistry between Stella and Mac (Gary Sinise) and “unravels something personal in Stella’s life. She was orphaned as a child and may find out who her biological parents are.” Stella will stumble on a photo of her mother, played by Melina dressed as an older woman. No word yet if Melina will also don a mustache to play her own father.
For some reason I have to think of an Eddie Murphy movie when I read the last two sentences:D
I´m a little bit afraid that it will be too much for just one episode: the coin case, Stella and Mac, Stella finding her biological parents.
But I´m very interested what Stella will find out about her personal background. I´m just hoping it won´t be too superficial because of the other topics.

I don't know why Smacked cannot happen. Smacked has been there since the PILOT episode
It's not a storyline coming from out of blue. Three couples could work!!!! (well i have faith on my Smacked and FA. Better not talking about DL ;)

Pleni, i think producers have been watching Animal Planet last 5 years .Never realized? for them. Not for the rest of human beings :D

I don't get Stella finding her biological parents in Greece, she was put into care in America which would imply that her parents lived in America even if they were of Greek origin. I always find it strange that Stella seems to know so much about her Greek heritage when she grew up in an orphanage.

^The door of absurdity was opened with Danny's "I come from a family of cops". From that moment on, anything is possible. Also, Stella's story has changed quite a few times. She said she'd spent her childhood at St. Basil until she turned 18 and then, in "Cold Reveal", we learn she was in foster homes as well. I think for next Christmas, I'll tell Santa to buy TPTB a dictionary, so that they can look up the word "continuity"...

I agree as well Hiphugger, as long as its done right and not all gushy hearts and flowers

I don't think another couple would ruin the show because if its Mac and Stella it will be a natural and inevitable conclusion. I love Danny and Lindsey but they're relationship is a bit too "in your face" for my tastes.

I don't think its gonna be fireworks on the Greece episode...it will be subtle
just like its always been with Mac and Stella...If it does happen and it works out, it will drag on for a bit...no instant gratification for us Smack fans.
Alas, I'm still heartbroken we have to
lose Angell to get to this. (IF ITS TRUE!) Good ol' Melina may just be blowing smoke up our...oh never mind....
:shifty:

Not in the least surprised they couldn't swing shooting on location in Greece. ;) Ah well. I'll be happy enough, I suppose, that Melina will not only have contributed to writing the ep but may in fact also have input to the look and feel of the ep, so that it's realized as close as she'd hoped it would be for wanting to shoot it overseas in the first place.

I hope that 'chemistry' sentence here is from the writer of the news tidbit, and not from the show; I choose not to jump to conclusions as to what it may actually mean ;)

I know everyone immediately thinks Smacked, but Gad help me I hope they don't truly go there. I hope and trust in Melina's input to keep this from falling prey to melodrama where Stella and Mac are concerned, and that the chemistry is more a simple and genuine closeness between them due their long time friendship. I hope 'chemistry' is not gonna be a romantic expression of it. No no no no no. Leave the two main leads of the series untethered in that sense. Aim higher than that, TPTB. Please.

As for her orphan backstory, how credible her discovering any information about her biological parents will be will depend on what's revealed about her personal history in the first place, how she was orphaned and at what age, etc. There's too much I've no clue about to have feelings about how realistic or not it would be for her to find anything out.

Not gonna dismiss any of it yet as being good or bad. Just hoping it exceeds my current expectations of the show, and am wishing it well all the more for Melina's involvement behind the scenes.

^Nothing has been said about it. We only know about Angell, but the rest, cliffhanger included, still remains a mystery. They want us to be on the edge of our seat until the finale.

"never before realized chemistry"... I hope that means Stella and Mac never realized they had chemistry before because I'm pretty sure quite a few of the fans have realized it from pretty much the beginning of the series.

Before CSINY started, Melina was given "Stella's background". She found out her Stella had sisters, her mother was missing and she found her father was murdered. According to her forum, Melina said it in several interviews. Once the show started Stella's background was changed (I think the episode was Till Death do us part 1.15) and she was become into an orphan because it was told her background was too similar to someone in CSI LV (sorry i have not any idea because i don't watch it). Also supodsely she has been Mac's friend for nore than 10 years (at the beginning) but latter episodes that info was modificated (Aparently she has known Mac for 9 years now)

That's why is so contradictory some facts told at the beginning with her current background

I would like you give a chance to Smacked. How could you know it's not going to work if nothing happens yet?

And no, for al, the reasons i wrote a thousand of times before, i don't think they have to be just friends.
For some reason (not friendship related) Mac will go across half world to be with her

And for some reason she will hand her badget when he will tell her she put him in a very different position

For me it's more natural, normal and real than anything else after so many years together

Debbs ;)

For you it might be a natural progression. For other's it would be messing with an already good relationship and adding one more office romance to a show that has only 9 core characters. I don't want to "give it a chance." I don't like the idea of them together and think putting the two leads together will just kill the show.

ETA: At this point maybe putting them together would be more of a mercy killing for some of the audience.

Well, I didn't start watching until the 2nd season finale. I just can't really see them as a couple. Maybe I'll change my mind if it actually happens, but for now I'm just not thrilled.

About the three couples thing- sure, killing off Angell takes care of that problem (and don't get me started on that), but still. It's not whether or not there's three at one time, it's the fact that on one team, six people fell for each other. Of course, I'd vote off D/L first (;)), but still.

I just read the DL and Stella/Mac spoilers and just have one thing to say. This show needs to change it's name to CSI: FanFiction. :wtf:

Crawling out from under the rock where I've been hiding to say, "Ditto."

 These new spoilers are not to my taste either. Nice to see you here, Springmoon. :)

Yeah, I'm in agreement. I just don't see Stella and Mac in that way, and never have, although I can understand how others might see it very differently. I really like their friendship, and think they do have a special relationship which is different to that of the others in the team, but putting them together at this point doesn't seem like a great idea to me. Why can't members of the opposite sex just be friends? Not everyone has to get it on with their co-workers.
