TOD??? That would be too much! It would be too disturbing to hear Mac's TOD announced, even though we all know he's not going anywhere.

OT: Can anyone tell me where, besides here, I can find detailed and accurate CSI:NY spoilers? You can PM me if that's better. Thanks. I'm a spoiler wh*re:lol:

I was worried by a spoiler from one of the Yahoo NY groups about time of death being called on him...but they still haven't gotten back with a source and I've heard it nowhere else. Makes me suspicious. A shot would be one thing but not a TOD kind of thing.

 That's a new one on me. I've not heard that spoiler before, and I personally can't see that happening.

Well most fan sites will probably have spoilers but as to the accuracy of any of them? You really can't tell until the episode airs. :) Also, you should be able to see a message at the top of the forum saying that you need to have 50 posts and have been a member for two weeks before you can utilise the PM function. :)

i hear that! obvs, he's awesome.
favorite episode = cab killer.
LOVED IITT.

Welcome! :D I'm definitely a fan of Reed Garrett. I hope we'll get to see him again at some point in the future.

Maybe the cliffhanger has to do with Mac re-thinking his career. With Reed being hurt and all the political backlash he's been feeling from the higher-ups, maybe the hostage situation goes wrong in the bank so Mac decides it's time for him to step down. He obviously wouldn't leave the lab all together, but maybe he gives up being the head. Just a thought.
That sounds possible. Also, over the years he's had his career threatened by his own actions - the Dobson thing, and had to deal with the repercussions of that and also his team's - particularly Stella and Danny's - mistakes. I know a lot of people higher up warned him off hiring Danny, so probably every time Danny messed up, Mac got some heat for it. And in Supply and Demand, we saw Mac having to defend Stella to some higher up (the them chief of detectives or some guy from IAB) Every time a member of the team was under scrutiny, it's likely Mac felt some heat, as he's the leader and he picked 'em.
And personally I think Mac is still suffering from losing Claire and 9/11, just as Stella is still dealing with what happened with Frankie and Danny with what happened to Ruben.

Or it could be something personal for Mac, something unrrelated to the case.
Or like you said in your second post, maybe his career is in trouble. But I prefer the first option. As long as my Mac's not dead, I'm happy.

Somehow I just don't see that happening. His job is his life and he would be way to stubborn to 'give up'.

Or maybe Mac gets disciplined/demoted for going into the bank without authorization. Jordan has already threatened his career(in response to the lack of progress in the cabbie kiler case)so maybe, on the mayor's orders, she follows through. Maybe Quinn steps into Mac's position.

Possible, but don't forget that Jordan has a thing for Mac. In my opinion the threat she made was out of her own desperation for wanting to report something positive to her boss and pressure Mac.

Quinn replacing Mac? I don't even want to think about that possibility. :scream: I'm extracting that image out of my head immediately and storing it in my pensieve.

This hostage plot sounds familiar. Oh! I know, didn't Calligh (sp?) on CSI Miami get kidnapped and forced to clean a crime scene and prove they didn't kill the vic for the bad guys?:confused::confused:

Have the writers been reduced to stealing plot lines from other shows? :wtf:

I don't mind if they 'steal' an idea from another show as long as they do a better job and keep the shows credibility. Then I wouldn't call it stealing.

I remember that when I lived in Chicago, lo these many years ago, I read an interview with one of the hostage negotiation team. He said they they would throw in a pink princess phone for the bad guy to talk to the negotiators on. Apparently, it is really hard to feel all tough and macho when chatting on a pink princess telephone :guffaw::guffaw::guffaw: Now that is a mental image which sticks in your brain!

I want that phone! Add some glitters and I will think I'm of the ruler of the world. :guffaw:

I wonder what that would be. Probably something to do with Reed.

The idea of Quinn coming in to replace Mac for several eps would be intriguing. Yeah, we know it wouldn't be permanent, but it could be a cool storyline.

I really do think it's a good idea sorry. But look at what happen in csi LV when they broke the team. Although they are reunite their was never same. And the audience are suffer of that. Maybe they ll be some problem with Jordan and office of the city hall. But I really don't think that Mac will replace on the top of the team. If the story hostage have an impact on Mac's life I think it's about his private life.
And no quinn for me. She 's New Jersey police and the show don't really need her. There aren't caracter like Jordan although I don't like her it'll be interest to saw the opposition between the team and her. But There are already 4 scientific in the team+Two policies and one Computer specialist. What she can bring to the team. In the episode Taxi she done nothing. She's nice with mac, she gave one adress and want explain about reed. But in the investigation She is of use to nothing. I really hope no see her again. Or maybe just one times for guest but not in regular role. I'll prefer the episode concentrate on Mac; Stella Adam, Flack, Angell, Danny, Sheldon and Lindsay. I want to know more about Flack, Sheldon or Adam and other... If Quinn become an recurring member she would take the place of someone. So I really don't want to see her.

Here's the spoiler report for 4.21 "Hostage" (Yes, less than 48 hours before the episode airs, but better late than never. ;))

After the finale, I'm going to do a report for the S5 premiere. :)

^^ Thanks Faylinn. Can't wait for Wednesday!!! :)

I got a feeling someone will be shot in the end. There seems to be a pattern .... Horatio was shot last night (guessing he'll survive b/c it's like the H show) then Warrick (sniff, so sad the character is not coming back :().

The finales are always about Mac so it has to be something to do with him seeing as he's being held hostage in my opnion. I don't want anyone shot Warwick was bad enough for me, and House is killing people I would rather some machoness and a SD style finale... considering my friends want me to go out meaning i can't watch the finale when i planned.

Tho as its a 2 parter we can expect to be left frustrated which is a common thing happening with all season finales this season.

Its funny I really don't like Jordans character but i understand why they've bought her in. She is the inbetween for Mac/The Media and the High Ups... and its the side which he hates the most. I just hope if she's back next season which looks like she will be they do something to make it worth while like they have done Gerrard and Sinclair.

Someone may have asked this already but what is everyone else doing in the finale?? I know Mac in the bank, and Stella and Flack are outside the bank but what about Danny, Lindsay, Hawkes, Adam etc... what are they all doing?? their not in any spoilers, at least none that I've read.

There really aren't many spoilers for the rest of them. I'm pretty sure I've seen something about Hawkes and Adam being in the lab and a bit about Danny being with Stella and Flack at some point. Nothing about Lindsay as far as I'm aware and certainly nothing big about any of them.

Yeah, most of the spoilers are about the bank situation, so we didn't get more than a glimpse of the others. I see Stella and Flack outside, as you said, something about Flack, Stella and Danny going somewhere, Stella and Adam Baldwin's character have at least a scene together, a scene with Hawkes and Adam in the lab--other than that, we're in the dark. I get the feeling this one is going to concentrate on Mac more than "Snow Day" did, but I could be wrong...

IMO, the premiere will probably include the others more (keep in mind that I haven't read the spoilers for it), but this part will have more Mac--like the finale is about Mac's side of things and the premiere is about the others getting involved more later on, maybe...I'm not sure how I feel about it, but that's the nature of a two-parter sometimes, and this is pretty much a two-part story spanned over a finale and a premiere...

Fay, which character is going to portray Adam Baldwim (I'm sorry. I'm in the darkness. Too much season finales and i'm lost about characters)

Considering this was Mac's season and the crisis he suffered since Playing with Matches I won't be surprised if this is related to his self-confidence crisis

i'll love this episode. That's sure :D

Debbie :D

Adam Baldwin is playing some guy named Brett Dunbar--I assume he works with HRT or something...the only mention of him in the spoilers is his name.

That reminds me that I need to add the cast list and such to the episode guide. *goes to do that*
