CSI:Magazine Awards

Dead Doll was a remake of Grave Danger IMO. CSI kidnapped? Hmm..

Writers on almost every show on tv recycle storylines. There were a lot of similiarities in those eps. I am guessing that because of Nick's situation in GD, they thought he was the best one to find Sara. Because their situations were paralleled in some ways. Nick was taken by an angry father cause his daughter was put in jail for something she didn't do. Sara was taken by an angry daughter because she was upset that her foster father had to take the wrap for her and killed himself to keep her out of jail. Very similiar situations.

As for the best use of song, I'm surprised that "What Becomes of Us" from Nesting Dolls wasn't mentioned. That song was perfect for that scene.

Those two eps. were similar life threatning situations, and then there was "Bang Bang" and "Way To Go" where Brass got shot and know one knew if he lived or not. Maybe we should start our own poll on here, and see what wins in all categories:thumbsup:

Best use of song - I'd give that to "sweet Jane" (from the episode of the same name) - especially the version by the Cowboy Junkies that was played at the end of the episode.

Best Season Six episode hands down (according to me ) was Gum Drops. Ironic that Grissom wasn't even that one, but that is one of the most memorable episodes ever made.

Yup, they were both life threatening situations, but what Nick went through was way worse then what Sara went through. She could try and fight her way from under the vehicle. She had the option, Nick didn't. There was nothing Nick could do to get himself out of that situation. He could only hope that the team found him in time and even he lost hope at the end.

Though both types of death are horrible, Nick's would've been worse. I would've eaten the gun too, much more quicker. I mean he endured what all of us hope would never happen to us, being buried alive.

Now, I said it once (sorta) and I'll say it again. It is obvious by the scenes and such that won, that mostly GSR fans voted in this. I voted and I can assure I didn't vote for most of what won.

I mean really, Grissom's best quote is when he said "When I met you?" Puhleeze, there are way more better quotes than that.

If you all want we could do an unofficial award of our own, give we can do it in two parts, nominations and then voting. - I was thinking of using the catagories given with this magazine and maybe a few others, if you all want to suggest some please do so, though I don't promise to use all of them. Please also keep in mind while doing any of this (ie suggestions, etc) in this thread to also try and keep it on the orginial topic.

The best Grissom line cracks me up, because I remember watching the dailies from that episode, and Billy's all "He's just saying that to get you off his back"

Billy comes out with the best ad libs

lets do it Destiny then we can see how everyone on this board voted why not, it'll be fun;)

Destiny, I'd vote if we had something similar here, if the categories lend themselves to all characters/actors getting fair representation. Because OK - "Best Romantic Moment" in a procedural crime drama? Tell me that's not biased. I dare you.

I agree, it's obvious that there were a ton of GSR Shippers who voted. Jorja's performance in Dead Doll was amazing, but it was not the best episode produced in the last 9 years. You knew they were going to find Sara and you knew she was going to live. Suspense and mystery are the best things about crime dramas - this one didn't have any.

And I have to add my voice to the complaints that WTG was selected as the best sixth-season episode. Gum Drops, hands down - the acting, writing, filmography, music - the WHOLE episode rocked, not just one scene at the end. (ETA - Although, the scene at the end with Nick and Cassie . . . I melted. I did.)

And how did Jello-Man not win Coolest Scientific Gadget??

No romantic moments please. It will be besieged by..uh..certain ships..

I mean to me a romantic moment was Nick singing to Mandy, but that's me and I'm in a very, very tiny group.

But I'll go for a poll

Jello-Man rules!!! I want him in the opening credits right after George Eads

George Eads...Jello Man...whoever comes after George..hey my attention span is impaired at times..

I think that if we're going to conduct another poll, we should find a way to balance out GSR bias as much as possible.

First of all- ask some sort of leading questions related to less-character/ship-driven show elements.
For example,
Which episode had the most intriguing plot twist?
Which episode featured the most shocking use and/or analysis of evidence?
Best villain for a single episode?
Best villain for a multi-episode arc?

After that, include categories specifically designed for characters/ships; for example,
Best GSR episode
Best Catherine episode
Best Greg episode
etc.

Maybe make a ratings system, or at least a reminder at the top of each question that reminds voters what they should consider while voting.

Also, if there's a Grissom one-liner category, then there's got to be a Brass one-liner/funny line in general category. That man is hi-larious.

Well, Greg would definitely need one cause he says funny stuff a lot too. Cath too sometimes.

We should also have a category for Warrick. Best Warrick moment or something like that. Then a best Warrick/Nick friendship moment. My vote would be for when Nick stopped Warrick from gambling that time.

I was thinking the same thing, best Warrick/Nick moment and/or episode.

I think we should have best one liners for all the main characters, they've all have had one or two or three.

We could do best forensic special effects.

But no best romantic moment. This a forensic show, not a soap opera.

We also should have a "best group scene" category (meaning the whole team together). I vote for the diner scene in For Gedda.

Well if you want the WHOLE team, then the first diner scene in season 1 "Strip Strangler" would be a good bet, too.
