Crash (H/Y)

*sighs of relieve* Good, he's in hospital. Y don't be scared, you can let go H will catch you. :)

More Hrockz, more! :D

Exactly how it should've been if H got hurt @ s5 finale :D

Anyway let's get that SOB! Honey bring in the flaming omeletes! I'll bring the bazooka! Caddy brings the golfclubs. Loony, Little Rabbit, Tricia you bring the sharktank! Let's have some fun..

Uhm...Sharktank? Okay, sounds like fun :D
I'm studying organic chemistry right now, about acids and stuff. Mind if I put my learnings to the test?

And may I quote Loony on this one: More Hrockz, mooooooooore!

Gah, this is how the s5 finale should have gone. It aslmost pains me to read this in that I wish so badly that we could have seen it. But it's brilliant, and has me hooked.

Awesome update!

Cainesugar... I give up, who is the one lying on the floor all bloody??? I can't recognize him.

Hrockz, I am a big fan of your fanfiction, I always read, but I never take the time to tell you.... THAT YOU ARE AWESOME! With a kid running in the house, two jobs and a husband I only enter some moments to read your finction, thank you again.

Thanks Redhot I know what it's like for you except I only have one job. FYI the one in cainesugar's banner is Ryan from 'Nailed' when he got shot in the eye. I think if this was how s5 finale was to have gone, it would have been left as a cliffhanger. Not like this with HOratio being found. But thanks anyways guys.

And cainesugar nice avatar of Harry.

Yelina fell asleep uncomfortably at Horatio's side, his hand still resting in hers. She woke when the morning shift nurse came in to change his IVs. She lifted her head from the bed to look at him. He was deeply asleep from the medications. She stroked his cheek.

"Why don't you go home, get some rest. He's stable. We'll call if anything changes." The nurse offered. It was tempting. Yelina still had mud on her jeans and boots from the previous day in the Everglades. A hot shower seemed very welcome. And she needed to check on Ray Jr.

"I'll be back soon." Yelina said, taking the nurse's offer.

-------------------------

Yelina got home, and immediately jumped into the shower. She peeled off her soiled clothings and let the hot shower massgae the tension from her shoulders. Her thoughts wondered back to Horatio. She knew she couldn't kid anybody. Her feelings for him remained, as did his for her. What he'd tried to tell her the previous night, she wanted to tell him too. She had almost lost him, and the thought scared her.

She emerged from the shower feeling fresh and energised. It was the weekend, and Ray had surprisingly stayed home, waiting on news about his uncle. She sat down with her son wanting to spend a little time with him before she hurried off to the hospital again. She was interupted by the ringing of her cellphone. It was the nurse from the hospital. Horatio had taken a turn for the worse, and they had transferred him to the ICU.

Yelina's heart thumped wildly in her throat as she raced down the highway to the hospital. Ray had insisted on coming along.

Outside Horatio's ICU room the doctor explained that his blood pressure had dropped dangerously low, and he was septic. The wound from the metal stick had got infected. They hoped the antibiotics would work, otherwise he might need surgery again.

Yelina and Ray entered Horatio's room. He looked the same, except he had more wires and monitors hooked up to him now. He was drowsy but awake.

"Hey Uncle Horatio." Ray greeted him.

"Hey buddy." Horatio's voice sounded weak. "Good to see you."

"You survived a plane crash. Pretty cool." Ray said.

Horatio gave a weak smile. "I wouldn't encourage you to try it."

"Ray, I'd like to talk to your uncle alone." Yelina said, placing a hand on her son's shoulder.

Ray nodded. "I'll go get something to eat from the cafeteria. Feel better Uncle Horatio."

Horatio nodded and they waited for Ray to leave. Yelina placed a hand on Horatio's forehead, brushing his hair aside.

"You're burning up." Yelina remarked. His skin was hot to touch.

"Hot for you." He smiled.

Yelina blushed and lowered her eyes. "Horatio - "

"Yelina - " They both said each other's names at the same time. A small laugh broke the tension.

"Ladies first." Horatio said as he reached for her hand.

She clasped his hand in hers, then sat down slowly beside him on the bed.

"Horatio, I know what you're gonna say. I care for you very much too. When I heard your plane had gone down... I didn't know what to think. I'm terrfied of losing you. You mean alot to me...." She paused letting what she had just said sink in. His blue eyes studied hers intensly.

"I need you to concentrate on getting better. Without you, there'd be no 'us'. I need you to be better first, then we can talk more about this." Yelina sighed. She had hinted of their future together.

"I'd like there to be an 'us'." Horatio said. He squeezed her hand. "I thought I'd never get the chance at that with you... when the plane went down."

Yelina bent over and kissed him. Her tears wet his face. His lips were dry, and she kissed him tenderly. Her soft curls brushed his face as she broke the kiss. He reached a palm to her face, wiping the tears away with his thumb. His head spinned, he wasn't sure if it was the effects of his illness or the kiss, or maybe both.

Yelina managed a smile. "I'll go ask the nurse for some ice chips, maybe we can bring your temperature down."

Yelina left the room. The fever raged inside Horatio, but he smiled. Now a future with her seemed a very good possibilty.

Awww!!! Doesn't Yelina know that as long as she's there, his temperature will remain hot...for her (like he said)

Let's cool off Horatio. *runs in with bucket of ice* Who wants to help me? :D

Good boy H! Get better soon, get together with Yelina :D

Who needs a bucket of ice when we can have... ICE CREAM! :D

When I had my wisdom teeth removed, that's all I ate for a week! And out of personal experience, nothing beats a fever better than a big bucket of Hagen Dasz ;)
(you know the flavor with all the chocolate and the chocolate chips.. and uhm.., did I mention all the CHOCOLATE? mmm *drools* :D )

Hrockz, don't say things like "Horatio took a turn for the worst", you scared the hell out of me :p ;)

Can someone from the Task Force come and kill the big ugly spider above my bed? :(

Just as I'm trying to eat healthier!

Okay that will NOT be me! I'm scared of spiders!! A while back I was crawled out of my bed, walking barefoot across my room to pickup the rest of my clothing. Suddenly a spider crawls past my foot. *aaaah* I ran immediately downstairs, told my mother to kill it  Lucky for me it wasn't a huge spider, just a small one. Gosh those big black hairy spiders ... they really scare the living daylights out of me. Every night I go to sleep I check the corners of my room (cause that's mostly where spiders appear first) if there are any. Call me a chicken I don't care! Rather a chicken than a spider in my bedroom!

That's actually one of the only animals I am afraid of! No problem holding snakes, small crabs etc :D I even saved a fish from dehydration once when I was on holiday. I'm born to be in the task force hahaha

Not sure if I qualify as a member of the task force, but I'll just snag that spider for you _Hush_... I love spiders!!! I'll just grab my specialized tupperware container and poke a few holes in the lid... Perfect! *slowly removes spider* *starts talking to it in babytalk* Who's a good little spider? :D

Great story so far Hrockz!!! Don't stop yet! Oh, and I'll help you with the ice/ice cream Kit4na. Unless my obsession with spiders creeps you out... :D

Sissi

Aw, well I happen to like spiders as well. ^ Except for the ones that can kill you. Them...not so much. I don't like axe murderers either. I am on my way, _Hush_ (love your avvie, has me giggling) but I won't kill it... I'll bring it outside and set it free in a giddy and ceremonial way.

Horatio gets hot around Yelina. End of story. But I love his little 'fever' excuse. And I love him sick. It means more visiting, maybe rubbing some ice chips around on his neck and chest, sponge baths...

Thanks for the comment on my icon- that is Harry, and the banner is indeed Ryan in 'Nailed.' Back when the episodes were good *dreamy sigh* Bring on the fic love!

Spiders are easy... what about ROACHES, yuck, hate them, I can go screaming for 100 yards without stopping if I see one of them looking to my eyes and moving their antennas, give me the creeps.

I hate spiders and roaches, basically anything creepy crawly. I totally freak!
SpeedsDaughter I think the Task Force always welcomes more members to protect H/Y.

Horatio opened his eyes to a new morning. His fingers felt Yelina's head at his side. He gently smoothed the top of her head, causing her to stir.

"You didn't have to stay." Horatio said as Yelina looked over at him.

"I had to make sure you were ok." Yelina said as she stiffled a yawn. She stood standing to touch his forehead. His skin still felt hot, but not like the night before. "You seem better."

"I had a good nurse who stayed by my side all night." Horatio smiled. "Thank you."

The doctors came to make their rounds, and Yelina took the opportunity to head to the bathroom to freshen up. When she returned Horatio had been propped up in bed and was eating some chocolate pudding.

"Good to see you eat something." Yelina remarked.

"Drs said they'd move me out of the ICU if the fever breaks."

"Good." She reached into her jeans pocket, and fingered the object Frank had handed to her the night before. She decided to wait for Horaito to finish his food before bringing it up.

"Frank found this in Brenner's possession." Yelina held up the old photograph of herself and Ray Jr.

Horatio cleared his throat uncomfortably. He blushed slightly. "Ummm.. yeah. Brenner used that as leverage. Said he'd go after you and Ray if I went after him... that was before he decided to take me hostage."

"You had this in your wallet all these years?"

"I er, I... it's a reminder of family." He said. He paused and studied his fingers then added, "It helped me get past those nights I couldn't get you out of my head."

He'd said it, admitted something he thought he would never tell anybody, let alone her. He had admitted to his weakness for her, his continued love for her, no matter how hard he tried to forget her, it was impossible.

"It's really sweet." Yelina said, surprising Horatio.

"You're not mad?" Horatio asked, sounding like a small child who'd broke his mother's vase.

Yelina laughed and shook her head. "No. Why should I be. In fact, it's rather flattering to hear how hard it is to forget me." She grew silent. "You treat me like... like I'm the most important person in the world to you. Like nothing else matters.... Ray didn't - "

Horatio reached for her hand, stopping her from saying something he thought she might regret saying. They shared a moment of silence.

The afternoon they spent talking about old times, the past where they shared times together. No hint of the future, no pressure, just enjoying the time together.

------------------------------

Days passed and Horatio recovered. The antibiotics worked and he healed quickly without needing more surgery. It was soon time for Horatio to go home to recuperate. Yelina insisted he stay with her. Ray Jr gave up his room willingly.

Yelina was careful not to encroach on Horatio's personal space. He was afterall there to recover. Things took an awkward turn between them, such that each seemed uncomfortable to be alone with each other in the same room. It puzzled Horatio, and he wanted to confront her about it.

A week into his stay at her house, Horatio decied it was time to talk things over. He made his way to the kitchen that night. She was busy with the dishes. Ray Jr was in the living room occupied with his computer game.

Horatio pulled a dining chair, and slowly sat down. His bones were healing but they still hurt. He winced slightly as he sat.

"You needed something?" Yelina asked, turning to face him. Her hair was a mess and she had wet patches on her shirt from the dish water. But she still looked stunning Horatio thought.

"I think... I think I'm well enough for us to talk about 'us' now." He said slowly.
