Conquences: The Trial

When they were seated, Calleigh grabbed Horatio's hand.

"Who was that? It looked pretty serious."

She looked him in the eyes, knowing the ways to coax the truth out of him.

Horatio knew that Calleigh's curiosity was eventually going to get the best of her. He had to lie to her, later he could tell her the truth, but he couldn't ruin their special night. He hoped she would understand when he came out with the truth, that he had reasons for everything he did.

"It was just Suzie. She was calling because Madison was getting antzy and they wanted to know when I was going to be back in Miami to visit them," he smiled at the woman across the table from him. The look on her face was hard to read and Horatio couldn't tell whether she bought it or not. Thankfully their waiter walked over and handed them menus.

"Can I get you something?" the waiter asked Calleigh what she would like to drink. Horatio interupted and told him to bring the best, most expensive wine they served.

"Yes, sir," the slick waiter said. He walked back to the kitchen and brought a bottle out. The man poured a little in Horatio's glass and he tasted it. Horatio let the fantastic liquid slide down his throat.

"This will do just fine. I'm sure the lady will love it," smiled at Calleigh and then the young man waiting to pour the wine. He poured Calleigh's first and then filled Horatio's.

"Are you ready to order, or would you like to wait a little longer?" he asked. Horatio looked at Calleigh with his brows raised, waiting for her to answer.

"A little longer please."

The waiter walked away and Calleigh smiled at Horatio.

"How long have you been my boss? A while I would say. I know your tell. When you lie you smile with the right corner lifted higher than the other. You just lifted it. So tell me Horatio. Who was it?"

"Babe why don't we run away to Italy? It's beautiful, romantic, and we would have diplomatic immunity. Even if the CSIs found out where we were, they couldn't do anything about it. We wouldn't be shipped back over here anyway. So we win all around. Baby anywhere on this earth will be paradise when I'm with you. Being with you is the most wonderful thing in the world."
Delko held Alyssa close to him. He never wanted this moment to end. He knew that it was now in this wonderful moment that he had to ask her the question.
Delko pulled away from Alyssa for a moment.
"Alyssa I love you so much. You are perfect in every way. I know we haven't known each other a very long time but already we've fallen for each other. I know now that there is no one else for me."
He couldn't believe that he was asking with out a ring, and then he remembered. From the crime scene he took the ring that had been given his sister. He took it and now keeps it with him. He pulled it out of his pocket. He felt it was a way to remember his sister, and it was now more or less his good luck charm. He now knew he had to pass it down. He held out the ring.
"Alyssa Curmir will you marry me?"

Alyssa was smiling as she was told about moving to Italy. She liked the sound of it, and she thought it would be very romantic to go there. She'd always wanted to go to Europe, but she was always working, and she never really had a chance to. Besides, just as he'd said, with Eric, anywhere would be fine with her, as long as she was with him. She couldn't believe how fast she'd fallen for him, and him for her. She was caught totally off guard when he pulled out a ring.

At first, she didn't know what to say or do. She was afraid of jumping into this too soon and she knew that it was risky, but she couldn't help it, she loved him so much already. Besides, if anything ever happened, no one was forcing her to stay with him. She watched as he brought out the ring from his pocket. She smiled a little and nodded. "Yes," she said softly, and threw her arms around his neck, kissing him softly. "I love you."

"Delko began to hold her tight. Baby I love you. I can't wait to be with you forever. Babe we do need to go and start packing up though. We can't be hanging around by the time the trial starts tomarrow. We need to get on a plane to Italy."
Delko was just reeling from the shock of Alyssa saying yes. He knew that he found the woman of his dreams.

Alyssa nodded and held him close to her. "I'll get us tickets on the way back home. We'll take everything we can, and then we'll start a new life in Italy," she said with a smile as she pulled away, and looked down at the ring he was holding. "Put it on," she said as she held out her left hand. "Where did you get it?" she asked him softly. She was so excited and she could barely contain it, but they had to get moving if this plan was to work. And she knew that by the time they got on the plane, she would be dead tired.

Delko slipped the ring on her fingure.
"Babe, you know I can't tell you where I got the ring from. It doesn't matter. All that matters is that you and I are about to start our new lives with each other. I love you so much."
Delko leaned in and gave Alyssa a kiss.
"We should probably get going then. We need to get tickets and get packed because you know that once you and I don't show up tomarrow they are going to scout our places. This is why we need to go now."

'Boss' she had called him her 'boss.' She had said, "How long have you been my boss?"

What was going through his head? Maybe she wasn't ready to make the kind of commitment he was. Maybe she wasn't ready to spend the rest of her life with him, as he thought she was. They had only been seeing each other for a few months, but he was sure she felt the same way.

He excused himself from the table, tripping a little over the protruding leg. He quickly stood to regain composure, and flattened his suit jacket. He walked to the restroom, and when he got in there, he pressed his back against the door and ran his fingers through his hair.

He had no idea what he was doing. The woman he would give everything up for in a second was waiting out there. He took a deep breath, and went back out. Calleigh was innocently looking around the little restaurant. He went back to the table.

"Sorry about that... something, uh, came up. Anyway, what were you saying?" He asked, hoping she would realize he didn't want to talk about his mysterious phone call at that moment.

Alyssa nodded. "Yeah, you're right," she said as she reached into her pocket and handed him the keys. "You drive, I'll get the tickets while we're on our way home. My dad works for an airline, he can get us there cheap. We'll pack our stuff and be out of here by tomorrow morning," she said with a smile as she started walking with him to the car. She couldn't believe she was actually doing this.

"Horatio. I love you. I have been with you for 6 months now. I don't like you keeping something from me."

She felt tears start to well up in her eyes.

"If it's another woman, I'll be gone in an instant."

She grabbed her purse and got ready to leave.

" Sounds good babe." Delko took the keys from Alyssa, then got into the car but not before kissing the woman he loved just one more time before they left.
"Babe you just show me where to go"
Alyssa called her father from her cellphone just to make sure that everything will work as planned. She talked f or minute and ended the phone call with a smile on her face.
She looked over at Delko and told him that for a meer $200 they could get two one-way tickets to Italy.
A smile came across Delko's face from ear to ear. Inside he couldn't believe he was doing this, but he knew it was right. He knew that he was going to be with the woman he loved.
After driving for a bit, they came to this Airline building.
"So I get to meet your father? He saw Alyssa getting out her check book, and Delko stopped her. "Babe I got this. Don't worry about it. Besides I think it would be better for us to pay in cash. That way it's not traceable."
Delko flashed a smile to the woman he loved. He leaned in to give her just one more kiss before walking into the building to meet her father and get the tickets.

sofia laughed. 'don't look that innocent, i know you're just dying to see me in a bikini!! and yes, i will, i have this special one for special occasions, like dates. so maybe you'll see it some day...', she said, with a smirk on her face. 'and let's just grab dinner, i'm starving, unless you mind me being in my work outfit?', she laughed at him, while looking at the buildings passing by as they drove.

Flack grinned and swung into the restaurants car park and shut the engine off. He got out and walked around the car and opened Sofia's door with a flourish and a grin.
"Madam. And really? I will? Oh, its just like Christmas!" He laughed and as she got out the car kissed her hard on the lips.

sofia laughed while kissing flack. she touched his cheek with her left hand, while having the other one on his shoulder. 'mmm, maybe you'll even get something else for christmas...', she said with a soft voice, kissing him again. then, she walked towards the door, having her hand on his arm. 'i never thought i'd get another boyfriend you know.. guys were.. afraid of my obsession with the police and everything. my schooldiary was full of pictures from the police, at crime scenes and other places. but you.. you just aren't afraid of me, it seems..', she says, while opening the door of the restaurant. when he looked at her, she whispered: 'it's my turn to open the door now..', with a big smile on her face.

Flack sniggered and walked through the door of the restaurant.
"Oh no, im terrified off you! I mean, you're so obbssed with the police you nearly ate an officers face!" He grinned and pulled her closer to him and they walked to a private booth in the corner, by a huge window. They sat down and he kissed her again.
