*Robert DeNiro and Ben Stiller in another hit "LITTLE FOCKERS" remained the top draw at the weekend box-office with $26.3 million, according to studio estimates Sunday. It was clcosely followed by the western "TRUE GRIT" starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, and came it at No. 2 for the 2nd straight weekend with $24.5 million. "Little Fockers" raised it's domestic haul to $103.2 million. Paramount's "True Grit" lifted it's total to $86.8 million, becoming the top-grossing film ever from directors Joel and Ethan Coen, whose previous best was $74.3 million for "No Country For Old Men". Paramount's boxing drama "THE FIGHTER", with Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, was No. 7 coming in with $10 million, raising it's total to $46.4 million. Fox Searchlight's psychosexual thriller "BLACK SWAN" starring Natalie Portman, came in at No. 9, with $8.5 million, raising it's haul to $47.4 million, and the Weinstein Co. historical drama "THE KING'S SPEECH" with Colin Firth was NO. 10, with $7.7 million, pusing it's sum to $22.8 million~

*Chuck Berry fell down during a concert in Chicago and his agent says "exhaustion" was the reason The medics checked out the 84 year old legend. He was released after the medics checked him out and was on a plane back home to St. Louis. One concertgoer said his performance was "erratic & out of time", and he had to be helped off stage. *Lindsay Lohan's attorney insists the actress didn't drink alcohol or do drugs during her 90-day stint at the Betty Ford rehab center. Shawn Chapman Holley said Wednesday that "it was never suggested by anyone that she ever drank or used drugs", during the course of her treatment at the Rancho Mirage drug dependency center. Holley made the statment after Internet reports surfaced claiming Lohan was "under the influence", during a Dec. 12 altercaton with a Betty Ford rehabilitation technician~

*Gary Collins actor, was released from custody Wednesday after being charged with a felony over accusations that he left a Mississippi restaurant without paying a $59.35 tab. Assistant Chief Rodney McGilvary of the Biloxi Police Dept. said the former TV host was charged Tuesday night with defrauding an inkeeper and held overnight on a $5,000 bond. Jazzeppi's restaurant owner David Mattina said Collins had been a customer for a while and he wants to have the charge dropped~

*Hundreds of Elvis Presley fans, including Chilean miner Edison Pena, gathered Saturday at Graceland to sing "Happy Birthday" on the late singers 'rock n roll' icon's 76 birthday. Pena, the guest of honor at Elvis's birthday party, cut into a 4-foot high cake fashioned to look like stacked television sets, as fans cheered both the singer and the miner outside Elvis's longtime Memphis home. Pena and 32 other miners spent 69 days trapped underground after a mine collapsed in Chile. Pena sang Elvis songs to lift the morale of his co-workers in the mine, before their rescue in October~

*'TRUE GRIT", seized the reins at the weekend box office with $15 million, taking the No. 1 spot and becoming the first Western to top the $100 million mark, since the 1990's, according to studio estimates released Sunday. The Paramount release starring Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon, bumped off Robert De Niro and Ben Stiller's comedy "LITTLE FOCKERS", which was No. 1 for the prevous weekends. Released by Universal, "Little Fockers" slipped to 2nd place with $13.8 million, rasing it's total to $124 million. "True Grit", which was directed by Joel and Ethan Coen, lifted it's total to $110.4 million. Among newcomers, Nicolas Cage's supernatural thriller 'SEASON OF THE WITCH" to No. 3 with $10.7 million. Distributed by Relativity Media, the movie stars Cage as a knight in the Middle Ages escorting a suspected witch to her trial. Gwyneth Paltrow's country-music drama "COUNTRY STRONG" premiered at No. 6 with $7.3 million. The Sony Screen gems release casts Paltrow as a boozy singer, trying to get her act straight after rehab.~

*Gwyneth Paltrow is a 1st cousin of the congresswoman who was wonded in Saturday's shooting that killed 6 people in Tucson, AZ. Democratic Rep. Gabrielle Giffords is the 1st cousin of director Bruce Paltrow, the late father of Gwyneth. Sophia Bush also has a connection to the shooting. According to a US Weekly report, Bush is the 2nd cousin of Christina Green the 9-yr. old who was killed in the rampage. She wrote on her Twitter "there are no words to explain what my cousin's famly is going through in Arizona"~

*Michael Douglas says his tumor is gone, and that he may have beaten the throat cancer. In a taped interview with NBC's Matt Lauer, Douglas said he felt relieved after a "wild, 6-month ride". Interview excerpts were released Monday ahead of it's airing today on "The Today Show"~

Apparently he kept this a big secret for that majority of his girlfriend's pregnancy. I just saw on E! that she already had the baby and that it was a boy. No word on a name yet.


Also, actress Alicia Silverstone is pregnant. I'm not sure if its her first child or not, she's been married for many years though. In the picture on E she looked to be about five or six months along.

Congrats to Owen/Jade and Alicia and her hubby. Congrats to Jewel/Ty as well.

The 34-year-old actress, best known for her role as ditzy high schooler Cher Horowitz in the 1995 hit Clueless, married the 40-year-old Jarecki, frontman for punk outfit S.T.U.N., in Lake Tahoe in June 2005. The couple have been together since 1997.

Keith, Nicole, and their two-year old daughter Sunday Rose, today announced a new addition to their family, Faith Margaret Kidman Urban. Born through a gestational carrier at Nashville’s Centennial Womens Hospital on December 28, 2010, Faith Margaret is Keith and Nicole’s biological daughter.

The proud parents issued the following statement:
"Our family is truly blessed, and just so thankful, to have been given the gift of baby Faith Margaret. No words can adequately convey the incredible gratitude that we feel for everyone who was so supportive throughout this process, in particular our gestational carrier."

*"THE GREEN HORNET" is buzzing away with the top honors at the weekend box office. The tongue-in-cheek superhero film starring Seth Rogen as a playboy turned-crimefighter earned $34 million during it's opening weekend, according to studio estimates released Sunday. The weekend's other major new release Universal's 'THE DILEMMA", opened in the No. 2 spot. The comedy starring Vince Vaughn and Kevin James as partners at an automobile design firm earned $17.4 million. Potential Oscar contenders TRUE GRIT" and "THE KINGS SPEECH" and "BLACK SWAN" respectively followed behind "Green Hornet" and "The Dilemma"~

But... "gestational carrier"? I've never heard that term before. Isn't it usually surrogate? Is this just a fancy term or was there something more involved than what is usually involved in surrogacy? :confused:
Yep pretty much, the baby is totally theirs she was just the carrier, Gestational Carrier = Surrogate. :)
 
Golden Globes boosts audience, tops rivals

THe Nielsen Co. says Sunday's Golden Globes ceremony was seen by almost 17 million TV viewers. It beat all network competition in it's time period, slightly exceeding last year's audience for flm and TV awards. According to tme zone-adjusted Nielsen "fast national" figures released Monday, it was NBC's most watched prime-time entertainment telecast in the 18-to-49 demographic since last year's Golden Globes. Carried by NBC from 8-11 p.m. Eastern time, the program aired live in every time zone for the 2nd year in a row. British comedian-actor Ricky Gervais returned as host, irreverently lampooning many of the nominees, presenters and even the sponsoring Hollywood Foreign Press Association~

Veteran broadcaster Regis Philbin is retiring from his weekly talk show. Philibin, 79, made the annoucement at the start of Tuesday's "Live With Regis and Kelly", which he has hosted for more than a quarter-century, most recently sharing hosting duties with Kelly Ripa. Philbin said he would be stepping down from the show around the end of the summer~ [why do these celebrities retire, what on earth will he do with himself?]
