CBS Releases Details For All 3 'CSI' Finales

Let me quote what I said in my first post
Last year, noticeable bumps/spikes in ratings were due to D/L-heavy episodes.
I thought I was clear with this. I didn't say anything that D/L episodes were the highest nor that I ignored the very high ratings of the first few episodes. Man, who am I to ignore them? Those ratings were huge and I wish the show maintained that.

I just said noticeable bumps. Like for example, when you're driving on a flat road then suddenly there's a hump. Of course that hump isn't stretched to the end of the road. Like what bumps in the ratings are.

I'm sorry, PerfectAnomaly if you felt insulted and angry. I tried my very best not to be insulting and annoying in every post I made. I kept on repeating my side because I felt you didn't understand me. I understand that you're considering the whole season. I got it but remember I'm just referring how the ratings rise and fall noticeable before and after D/L episodes. I know the first few episodes had higher ratings: the season premiere because of the hype of Mac's fate; the second episode maybe because of Maroon 5; the third episode because maybe of the "murder 30000 ft above sea level" promo.

Faylinn, I didn't mean to hurt you when I said "novel-long post". First, I'm just kidding and second, your post isn't really novel-long so I thought you'll just take my post as nothing. I'm sorry.

Thanks.I thought there was just a special episode that was targeted or promoted as a "sweep" episode or story.
Sometimes big episodes happen during sweeps in an attempt to draw in more viewers, so sometimes they're referred to as 'sweeps' episodes and whatnot. If there's a special guest star or a high profile storyline, it could be a 'sweeps stunt', etc.

BTW, is it just me or is "sweeps" one of those words that makes less sense the more you read/write it?

I wasn't hurt, I was just trying to be funny. Dang, we're bad at communicating.

I agree, Fay. "sweeps" does make less sense every time I hear it. I always hear "feburary sweeps", "november sweeps" or "april sweeps" (in addition to the may one)... There's a sweeps for each month? And if that sweeps for each month starts on the last week/day of the previous month, then isn't the whole year practically sweeps? Well, up until May when all the shows go off for the summer that is.

With the whole month being "sweeps", I now know why Miami seems to have so much going on the last few episodes.I initally thought that epi 23 was the "sweeps" epi and the finale was just the finale.

There are only three months that are considered "sweeps" times: November, February and May. That's when the ratings really count, and the shows tend to roll out their big event episodes.

Why are they considered the months to roll out their big events..I never did understand that..

Faylinn, love your icon. Kurt is so adorable.:)
