Carmine Giovinazzo

that is long..but worth reading...
its really gr8 that Carmine puts so much of himself in the role..
its great to see him playin Danny...
i don think they cld have a better choice of actor to play Danny...

No, they really, really couldn't have. There are few marriages between actor and character that are as perfect as Carmine and Danny. He does put a lot of work, and thought, into the role, and I think that really comes through on screen.

^True. I think any actor that puts that much of himself into a role is bound to be a standout. I love the energy he brings to Danny! It makes Danny seem that much more real.

i don't think we need to think about that...
The actor WILL be a standout....
true,Danny seems more real...and he also brings that charm...

The charm, yes. :D There's something so endearingly lovable about Danny--I think it has to do with the mixture of sweetness and brashness in him. Sometimes he can be so outspoken, and then at other times, so thoughtful and kind, like when he apologizes to the father for the loss of his daughter in "Super Men" even though he killed the football player. It's that degree of complexity to the character that also makes him very real and believable.

i have yet to watch "Super Men"..so i'll be watching out for it...
i agree with u...
for us guys,Danny is the type of person we all wld like to be...u can't be too sweet(is there even such a thing?) and u also can't be too brash/cocky...there has to be the perfect balance between these two traits in a man...
and yes,we've definitely established the fact that Danny is probably the most complex character after Mac(that's my view,anyway...no offences to anyone who thinks otherwise..)..

I actually think Danny is more complex than Mac in a lot of ways. Mac's a good character, but Danny seems much more real to me. I like the fact that he's not perfect and doesn't always do the right thing, and that he reacts emotionally to so many situations. He's a bit closer to the viewer than Mac is in that way--while Mac is obviously more mature and further along in his career, Danny is someone we relate to because his reactions are much similar to what the viewers' might be in a similar situation.

hmm..u've got a point there...Danny is the more emotionally charged one...Mac the composed one...
Mac seems complex because of his composure,attitude...u don't know much about him...
Danny, however,is like the common personality in the show...Its his grassroot personality that grabs the attention...
Mac is like unreachable-in the higher echleons, which i don't despise or anythin....

I think with Mac still waters run deep, but I gotta say that I enjoy watching Danny much more. The hothead is always just a bit more entertaining than the even-tempered leader, at least in my opinion.

true...Danny is more engaging on screen...That variety of emotions displayed by him...
Mac's almost always monotone...Its his trademark....

They're very different characters, which is part of what makes them so much fun to watch together on screen. I loved it first season when Mac and Danny would clash. It wasn't stereotypical fighting either--Danny would be headstrong and go his own way, but when Mac called him on it and got mad, Danny would just kind of give up and clearly feel defeated.

Though I miss the tension between the two, I'm glad Mac put his faith in Danny in RSRD. I think it really added depth to their relationship, and also made that final scene so powerful.

Yes! It's pretty vague...here's the comment:

CSI Files: What about Danny and Lindsay? They've been thrown together a lot. Do you think there's a romantic element there?

Giovinazzo: There might be a little surprise in the final episode that will give people some insight into their dynamic and can go a little further into how they're feeling about each other. That's all I can say is that there's definitely a part in this final episode that opens up Danny and Lindsay's relationship more than it has before.

if it is the scene when Danny crys into Mac's shoulder that ur talking about, then i've that scene...on CBS.com...other then that that,i've not seen RSRD yet...but i do agree with u...that scene was indeed powerful and moving...
The second season for NY jus premiered here about a month ago..So i've only seen the 1st few episodes...

I also enjoyed watching the 1st season...and the tension between the two was why i enjoyed the show immensely...two idealists struggling for one cause-justice-but using different methodologies...
