This thread needs a serious BUMP.

The Cubs traded Corey Patterson for two minor leagures... All I can say is..I hope you thought this one out thoroughly, Dusty.

only a few more months until opening day...just have to make it through the superbowl and march maddness. :) Of course, by then I may have reconsiled whatever the Indians decided to do in the last 2 weeks of the regular season last year and perhaps, only perhaps, i will no longer see red when thinking about the fact that Sean Casey was traded for a pittance to no other than the Pirates - what?!? (don't even get me started on how Ken Griffy Jr. is both way overpaid and overrated - yes, it's a logical progression from my Sean Casey grief)

I'm ready for baseball. The Dodgers have made some really good trades during the off-season. I hope 2006 brings a good season.

Cubbies could have had a better trade, I think. Patterson was pretty good.

:(I'm DYING for some baseball...I'm suffering from major baseball deprivision! :p My spring/summer life basically revolves around baseball.

The Cubs are my second favorite team. I got to see them play at Wrigley last year so I'll forever be a fan.

I've been checking their roster over the offseason and they've made some crazy trades.

I'd say their worst trade to date is Alou to the Orioles....

In the immortal words of the Comic Book Guy:

Worst. Trade. EVER.

I'm just hoping their most recent trade will help the Cubbies next season. :D The Sox had their turn, now it's the Cubbies!

By the way, if anyone is going to Wrigley, the easiest route is to take the train to Union Station (if you're outside the city), then ride the El (Elevated tracks) over to Wrigley. No traffic, no worries. ;)

Opening Day starts what I call "The Greatest Week in Sports". This year, you have Opening Day on Sunday, April 2. One day later, on Monday the 3rd, you have the NCAA Basketball Championship Game. Finally, on that Thursday, the 6th, is the first round of the Masters. Can't wait for that week, as Opening Day and Masters Sunday is two of my favorite days of the year.

You had to have known Patterson was a goner with the Cubs. Strange that they didn't get but a couple of minor leagers for him. Oh well, sounds silly to me.

We're only a couple days away from spring training. I am so ready for baseball season to begin again. I hope the Dodgers make good on all their trade picks this season.

the yankees aren't looking so good right now, 2-4...i hope their season is going to progess coz i have tickets to a bunch of games :(
