Between the bad writing and acting, I don't see a character exhibiting PTSD. I see writers and an actress who don't have a clue about the character's personality and as a result are putting out subpar material. PTSD or not, I still don't have any insight into who she is as a character. After 2 1/2 seasons on the show, I consider that a huge problem.
That's just your opinion. I don't see any inconsistencies with her character, nor do I see atrocious writing. I don't even see bad acting, although all the actors have their moments where I'm like "Uh...I can see you're acting".
Basically, you just dislike Lindsay. That's fine, but quite blaming the writers. I find it hard to believe that their creative minds who give you wonderful characters to enjoy fail so miserably at one.
Own it. You hate Lindsay because she's not a sympathetic character. You find her rude, annoying and selfish. She's not fun. She's not vibrant. Since you consistently complain about these traits in her, there is no gap in her character.
As far as insights into her character...we've been given plenty of fodder. We know quite a bit about her, we know how she reacts to and with people and certain situations. We know how she feels about science, and we know how she feels about the law.
We see her interact with the team and how they interact with her.
What exactly are you so determined to find out about her that you find lacking?
ETA: This isn't about Lindsay/Anna, but since you mentioned other characters, I'll address it. I think saying over half of the characters on the show are suffering from PTSD is over simplifying who they are and why they act the way they do. But again, PTSD or not, the other characters all have distinct personalities that make me beleive in them even if I don't always agree with their behavior.
Lindsay has a distinct personality, although I again think it's been a bit hidden by her attempting to deal with a trauma. I'm not over-simplifying the characters, but I do think that most of them show symptoms of PTSD, and that is not unreasonable considering the kinds of jobs they have, not to mention their own personal issues. There's all kinds of variations of PTSD, so they aren't all going to have the same reactions.
And maybe some of them don't have PTSD. It's just my opinion on how they behave.
We don't have to agree. I'm just floating another idea out into the sea of thoughts.
It's always a pleasure discussing things with you.
