Oh....yes it's weird....but it's funny! I also had a dream once that oompa loompas were trying to kill me and one were flack was literally the devil...

Those were my favorite eps from that season....and the one with the spider on a stick  but that's from a different season :p

I think that the writers think that if they don't give Lindsay a 'dark interesting past' people will start to lose interest in her character. I think they're also basing their judgement on the fact that when they've focussed on Mac's, Stella's and Danny's dark moments it's turned out to be amazing episodes and got good reviews etc.

Personally whilst I prefer her lighter side I'm glad they're mixing it up a bit and showing us different sides of her character. In the end I think the writers will show her deal with the past and work through it and get more like her old self again.

I (still) haven't seen Anna in anything else than in CSI: NY, so I can only base my judgement on that performance and I think she's doing a great job.

I certainly don't think she's the best actress ever, but I very much like 'her' Lindsay.

I totally agree with those of you who are saying she's better in the more lighthearted scenes, but on the other hand I did like the way she played the more dramatic scenes in "Silent Night". After all not every person experiences or displays feelings of pain and despair in the same way, so why should different characters?

I agree with you completely dutch_treat.
Yes, all characters express emotions in different ways, and this is why I can understand why Lindsay would leave a note for Danny, instead of her telling him in person she is leaving. I might have said before(a while ago) that I would be one to open up when I am sad and angry, but that is now changing and I can understand why she would be relucant to talk to him. I think she doesn't want to have to explain herself before she goes back to Montana...Basically I think she is "procrastinaning with very good reasons for doing so"

I don't think anyone has suggested that she should express her feelings the way that someone else on the show expresses them, simply that the acting isn't believable and/or that the character is inconsistent.

^ I was merely trying to say that it's not an inconsistancy of the character (or bad acting) to be sad, angry or acting childish when something terrible has happened/is happening to you. The thing that can make you burst into tears today can be the same thing that makes you furious tomorrow.

I really like her character, and I've never seen Anna in anything other than CSI:NY. But I too think she's doing an amazing job.

As for the dark past, it's not a big suprise if you watch one, two or all three of them each of the CSI character's has some darkness or sadness in the past.

I just hope the storyline is a good one. I hate to see them get us all excited and then throw cold water on us. That would tick me off! With a capital T.

I love how TPTB deal with the detectives' pasts, fears and stories. :) It makes the show that much better!

I trust TPTB to do well with Lindsay too! :D

I'd say Anna is jut bove average as an actress, but I love her and Lindsay so much on the show, that it doesn't really bother me so much. I too think Anna handels the lighthearted Lindsay a lot better than the dramtic one, but like others have said, everyone has to act differently, they cant just be one way all the time. That's how I feel anyway.

I think she is doing an amazing job as well. I have seen her in other shows. I saw several episodes of The Handler and about two episodes of Medical Investigation. I really thought that Anna handled the both the dark and light aspects of The Handler well and she did great with the young girls during some very serious moments in Medical Investigation.

I don't mind the show doing some sad, dark moments with Lindsay but I do prefer her lighthearted moments. The character of Lindsay during the second season was lighthearted and excited about discovery and investigation. I think this is the character those of us grew to love. But I agree with the others that it is good to see something different, something darker on occasion. ;)

I do however agree with Top , Anna is definitley better in the lighter happier scenes, but on the flip side I thought she did amazing with the father in 'Stealing Home'.

I agree, and maybe that's because it was a more subtle scene than those screaming scenes were. I liked her final scene with the killer, too.

I love the idea of Danny and Lindsay, but my love for a possible relationship has started to spiral down the drain because of all this 'deep, dark, depressing, past' of Lindsays, the two of them were cute in Stealing home and Cool Hunter, and I'll admit - I loved "the hug" at the end of 'Not what it looks like', but, The writers need to realize that theres certain parts of Lindsay that Anna plays well, and other parts that arent so great, they need to start playing up Anna's strengths.

I thought those scenes were cute too. I'm not a big fan of the Danny/Lindsay pairing, but back then I could get on board with it. Dorky new girl has a crush on the cute lab geek? If it had stayed that way, I'd probably be rooting for her. In Anna's defense, the writers did do an about face with the character, taking her from someone who had fun with her job to someone who can't seem to handle it in a matter of episodes, and even the thing with Danny did a 180, going from her trying to flirt with him and get his attention to her backing off when she finally got it.

I love Anna, and I guess as a fan I'll support her and her acting no matter what, but, I hate seeing an actor 'trying' to cry or 'trying' to be upset - you can tell when someone is trying too hard, and unfortunatley in S3, We saw some of that with Lindsay - this whole deep, dark past thing is what needs to hurry up and get resolved so we can see the lighter side of Lindsay again.

That's my problem with them, too--I see the script rather than feeling the character's emotions. And that's a bad thing.

That was my tid-bit, I'm off to Dinseyland - talk to ya gals later!!

Watch out for Splash Mountain... ;)

There was also a time when she got about 300 bottles of beauty products to examine and Mac asks if women really do need all that. and she's all: "You're asking me? I work in a lab."

I liked that, too. It was funny and self-depracating and told me more about her character than watching her try to delve into this dark secret.

har har, ::glances at clock:: thank you for warning me lets see... hmmm... almost 48 hours AFTER i get sopping wet... some help you are... ::hugs::

I'm ready for the season to start up again, new episode next week no? I'm looking forward to how this whole dark secret thing is going to be resolved and I really, really, really, ::crosses fingers:: hope that the writers arent going to pull a "Flack" and one episode Lindsay is crying and upset, mad, whatever, and then all of a sudden the next episode toodles along and shes all better... thats really not going to work for me. I hope they let a majority of it go - fix it in an episode or whatever, but then let the rest maybe teeter off over an episode or two. BUT... I'm also hoping they dont keep dragging this out - we've been slung along this path long enough, its time for whatever has happened to be explained and thats all there is to it. :)

Okay, we seem to be running low on topics - or kinda just stuck on the same ones, so I'm going to try and open another door - lets see here... What are some of your favorite Lindsay quotes? things shes said? even things shes done?

One of my personal fave's is her comment about going into the Lube Pool, Mac gives her the eye and then 'I'll get my boots'... :)

And of course, who can forget the "Classy" comment she made to the suicide girl during 'Oedipus Hex'?

^^ Loved that scene so much. I laughed so hard. It was funny as well when Danny said, "Is that your natural hair color?" to a Suicide Girl with pink hair.
