hey would just like to write in here to say how much i like lindsay. I was really annoyed to go into the spoilerthread and instead of finding spoilers i found anti lindsay activity.

it really annoys me when certain people slag her off for no reason and say shes not right for danny but think that flack is!!!! WTF?

and then pick out her every flaw.

i mean im not like in love with lindsay but this constant bullying is just to much and i want to stick up for her but cant in a thread where no one wants to hear.

even if danny was bisexual. the writers have in no ways suggested that danny and flack have potential for a relationship. so why turn theyre own frustration into a thread victimising lindsay

i mean theres freedom of speech and then theres bullying

if you dont like it dont watch it. dont watch it and then moan or say that you want her to die. thats just extremely twisted and sycotic. especially when there disscussing in which way shell die.

sorry for making your happy thread a bit dumber i just wanted to vent my frustration

csitaylorgirl, this is a discussion board about CSI: NY, not the people who post here. This is a positive thread for Anna/Lindsay, so if you like her character you should by all means come here to post. If you want to defend her in the Why Lindsay Must Go thread, feel free to do that, too, so long as you actually debate the points and don't just go in there to insult the posters.

If you continue to post just to complain about and insult other posters, you'll receive a formal warning.

She said at the time she could deal with fathers better. I imagine it has to do with how the mothers of her friends reacted to their deaths and how that made Lindsay feel as the only survivor. It certainly would be an interesting thing for them to explore in a bit more depth. In fact they had the perfect opportunity this past season with Rikki. That could have been interesting if they had shown Lindsay having to deal with Rikki if she'd gone to the morgue or something to see Ruben. Obviously the route tptb took precluded that little gem but hey, let's not go there. :)

Oh, I agree! This would have been interesting! I haven't even thought about that yet, but it's an interesting idea.
I also think her problems with dealing with mothers has to do what happened when her friends had been killed and the mothers had found out. Maybe they had even blamed her. It must have been hard for her. I wonder if some time in season 5 or later they'll come back to this topic, because the murder of her friends is an important part of her past. In Oedipus Hex she had to deal with a mother. It was hard for her, but she did it. I'd like to know how she'd react now.

I actually wonder how much Lindsay's issue with mothers (assuming she still has that issue) may have affected her and Danny's relationship throughout the whole Ruben storyline. I think it would be good continuity if tptb touched on that a little. It would be a good explanation as to why Lindsay struggled to be there for Danny (if that is actually the case) or why he didn't feel able to go to her.

Why would the writers tease us with Lindsay saying things like "I am not good with mothers" or struggling to be there for Danny? It gets old really fast and I hope that the writers get their s**t in gear soon. I am really starting to get fed up with the writers who treat her character like crap.

I feel like Anna gets a lot of grief because the writers don't give her a lot of good stuff to work with. I am not trying to bash the Lindsay haters or Anna but I just can't stand the fact that the writers and producers leave so many unanswered questions about her character. It is something that bothers me about a lot of the NY characters actually. I understand that it is a crime show but there is a point where the fans would like to have some answers. If the writers are going to share something with the audience, make sure to at some point give more evidence on the matter.

All right I will step off the soap box for now. :)

*gets on soapbox you've just vacated* :)

I agree. There are some storylines where it's okay to keep us guessing. A lot of people, myself included find it frustrating that we have no clue what happened to Louie. But, it's not necessary to know that to understand what's going on in the show.

It IS however necessary to have a good understanding of what's going on with the principle characters. They have left so many unanswered questions hanging with Lindsay;

Why did she stand Danny up? Was there a good reason or did she just chicken out but not care enough about him to let him know?
What is her issue with mothers? Did her friends mothers blame her for surviving or was it just her own guilt?
Who is Lindsay Monroe outside of her relationship with Danny? Does she have friends? Does she socialise with anyone other than Danny or does she just walk in the rain in her down time?
What about her family? Why weren't they with her in court?
Why is she so competitive? Was it that she felt the need to be a high achiever because she was given the chances in life that her friends missed?
Were she and Danny really together? If not, what happened and if she loved him why didn't she let him know that sooner? If they weren't together then why is she declaring her love for him now? (that just doesn't fit with her character imo. If she 'knew' Danny didn't want to be with her then I can't see her exposing her emotions like that.
Did she try and reach out to him after Ruben died or did she expect him to just come to her?

So many questions, not many answers.

Yes. Those are really a lot of unanswered questions. And I think they're important questions, too.

They give us little bits and that's it.

For me the most important things would be how much her past still affects her. Does she still have problems with dealing with mothers? And- what's going on in her family? We don't need a long storyline for that. Just an episode where she mentions her parents, or her relationship to them, or a case where she has to deal with a mother again, and maybe explains why exactly she had such problems with them.

^^ Well I would love to see a story line about it though. But it has been dragged out for so long that maybe some sort of reference would be nice. Lindsay is one character that intrigues me and the lack of information on her just really annoys me to no end. The show focuses too much on Danny, Mac, and to a certain extent, Stella. That leaves the other characters lacking in development.

Lindsay really deserves to have an episode about her role as CSI and how her past helped her become one. No more of the romantic entanglements that bring out drama. Like Jelly asked in one of the many great questions brought up, where the heck was her family?! Give us a bone writers to chew on! :p

Jelly, your turn on the box now ;)

They do seem to have left Linsday with loads of unanswered questions about her past and her present. I think tptb really do need to to clear up at least some of them. I think it would be nice for her resolve (or rather try to) her issues with her friends death. I do think that lindsay still has a lot of guilt about that, so maybe talking to someone would help her and perhaps we could find out her relationship with her family that way.

I really want to see her back out of the lab more and taking down the bad guys again. :)

Kick ass Lindsay needs to make a serious come back! It would be so nice to see her standing up for herself and not constantly getting knocked down. Her situation reminds me of that song "Chumpawumpa" (or something like that ) with the lyrics of "I get knocked down but I keep getting up again" Should be her motto I think!

If there's one thing I hope tptb listen to in terms of fan feedback this season, it's that they need to bring kick ass Lindsay back (well, okay that's not the only thing I hope they listen to).

They need to stop making verbal references to her country roots (although I wouldn't mind the odd 'Montana' from Danny - not Hawkes, but Danny!) and actually show them. A good writer shows rather than tells the story and that's what they need to do, give us some kick ass moves.

I think even her team mates see her as being vulnerable. It's understandable after all her history came out but I think she must hate that on some level. She used so much energy to hide her past from all of them and that had to be at least in part because she didn't want to be treated differently in NY. I imagine she'd been chasing that particular shadow for a long time and had hoped she'd left it all behind, but no it came back and she was shifted into this vulnerable character. Let's see her doing something physical, standing strong and being brave. :)

That is a brilliant point Jelly! I agree that her teammates also think that she is vulnerable. They get a brief glimpse of her being strong in the beginning of the second season and then nada ever since then!

I want to see her smashing suspects into cars again, whipping out that knife again, you get the point! I want to see more of the reasons for why Danny calls her Montana (Hawkes please take note and NEVER call her Montana again please :)) I am not going to hold my breath and hope that the writers see what I wish for because when do they ever listen to what I have to say? (LOTS of things would be different if I was listened to!)

I agree, this season Lindsay, has been made to look vunerable, firstly with the whole Danny situation, she was made to look vunerable and somewhat needy, also with the "I can't deal with mothers" they are making her look as though she can't deal with her job and her friends... It has really bugged me... We need to see more of her being stong, and like it's been said before, there are so many unanswered question surround her, especially about the mother's comment... I wish tptb would give us answers to our questions, and stop making Lindsay seem weak and needy... I'm hoping she will have returned to how she was before next season.

*End of rant*

I know watcha mean, they don't listen to me either  Silly ptb. Although, I actually think she was strong throughout most of S2, there were hints at her vulnerability in All Access but mostly she was a strong character. Don't get me wrong, I think vulnerability can be good but they've taken it way too far with her. It wouldn't be so bad if they offered up clear and timely explanations. I mean, from the point that she stood Danny up and was emo in S3 to the point where they revealed her past more than half a season went by. That's a long time to see a character behaving somewhat irrationally but not being given anything to explain it. I do think it's hardly surprising that those fans who hadn't entirely warmed to her character then went completely off the boil at that point. Then what do they do? They do it again in S4 by having her seeming to be mad at Danny because he shut her out. Her response is to shut him out again despite his grief. It's all just silly and poor storytelling and for those of us who DID warm to her early on it's a little tough to take.

I don't have a problem with the 'I can't deal with mothers'. We're all human and have moments in our lives where the balance can be tipped between our personal and professional selves. I don't mind that she's had sporadic outbursts and actually quite like that there's a character other than Danny who does that from time to time. What I do mind (as I've already said) is the fact that the reasonable explanation for her behaviour generally comes way after the event. That then leads to more people hating a character that I'm sure they're not supposed to hate.

So on a completely different topic here... I see Lindsay as more of an "observer" of everyone. Like how she figured out Mac played bass at the club. I'd like to see her figure out everyone else's little quirks and maybe sometimes enjoy with them. Not that she has to tell the whole lab, but just getting closer to everyone... minus Danny of course because we all know what happened there.

I know watcha mean, they don't listen to me either

yeah, you definitely wont catch them listening to me

I have a feeling like they tend to abandon the good story lines they created for her and instead follow the rather annoying ones. I dont mind the Montana references but they come at totally strange places. and I want Danny to call her Montana again. especially in a situation where she impresses or surprises him with something

we need some answers in the next season so we can actually understand some of her behaviour. and kick ass Lindsay definitely needs to make a comeback. she is still there under all the angst

I know Im repeating myself but I would like to see her bond with Adam in some way. I think they have a lot in common and it would be a nice change for her to interact on a more personal level with someone else then Danny (not that I mind her interacting with Danny on a very personal level  ).
