Re: Canadian Thread #4

Happy birthday Geni :D.

Man, if there's one thing I love about public transit in BC it's the conversations I hear. For example, here's one I heard on route to classes...

Man: Stephanie, this our stop.
Stephanie: My house is no good in the winter. But in the spring it's good. There's a balcony & we can put a pull in the backyard. And you can watch me splash around.
*5 seconds later*
Stephanie: You can watch me splash around. Tee hee!

 I thought she was his mail order bride from Europe. But the last thing she said killed me, especially the tone she used. It sounded like a dirty line from an adult film, one that the sexy foreigner says to her American master.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

Thanks for the birthday wishes everyone. They're very much appreciated. :D

 jorja that's hilarious. I've heard some strange things on the bus, but that one's a little more..Out there.

Today I had the oldest bus driver known to man (he had to be around 90) and he had the oldest bus known to man, which was falling apart. We were all a little on edge driving through the snow today. :p - That part that holds the back door on the bus together fell off onto my head. I'm surprised the door didn't come clean off.

Today it was rather warm too! -5c, with a slight wind chill. Not something I'd expect for the end of November, but it was nice to have some warmer Canadian weather on my birthday. :)

Re: Canadian Thread #4

o__o I dunno if you got my Birthday message, Geni.. It was pretty rediculous.

"Canada - Where it is winter eight months of the year."

And isn't the Ogopogo rumoured to live in the Okanagan in BC? In one of those.. lakes.. I can't remember.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

What up peeps.

Me and my friend are to Canadain, we were counting down how many times we said eh in a sentance, then during social we gave up

Re: Canadian Thread #4

 Lauren, you seem to be back for the moment! *hugs* Yep, I got your message. :) Thanks for the birthday wishes. :D

And yup, the Ogopogo is rumoured to live in Okanagan BC.

 I don't think that would ever happen in my school. The people I know barely ever say 'eh'. Although, in French today, we counted how many times the teacher said the french word 'alors' in her sentences. It was 33 times in five minutes.

Re: Canadian Thread #4

^ Try counting how many times someone says "Like". Example:

So, I was like 'Omg! How can you do that?' and the he was like 'Psh. What do you care?'

I've counted myself saying it over 130 times during the day. And that was only me =\
And if you ever do listen to people's bus conversations, they are weird. Like Jorja said! [Fall down]

Re: Canadian Thread #4

in grade 10 we had 'fyi fridays' in english class where a pair of students had to present a news story and then we talked about it. there was one girl, i didnt like her very much, who would say like soooo many times. we had several independent like counts. i think we got up to about 50 or so in the hour long discussion

are you albertans happy now? there is about a millimeter of snow on the ground right now and flurries are headed their way tonight. i blame you :p

Re: Canadian Thread #4

success! we've sent snow to ontario! Although, 1mm of snow hardly counts

Re: Canadian Thread #4

 1mm? That's like dropping some sugar on the ground accidentally. That's not snow. :p

It just happens to be taking us Albertans/BC-ers/Manitobans a while to shovel that far so be patient. ;)
