"Acting On Impulse and Love"- A CSI: LV story (Greg centered)

I'm still deciding what do next. Should McKeane really be dead? I'm afraid if I make it to where he faked his death, it'll be too cliched. I think I decided he kinda should be dead, but can't decide who is responsible.

Does anyone remember what happened to Sam Braun's sons? I think one died and another went to jail, but was there a third? I was thinking maybe one of them could have killed McKeane because maybe McKeane was going after Catherine next. I know she didn't really have any real screentime with the brothers, but... just an idea.

This is good. All I know that Sam have 2 sons, one in jail and one died and he got one daughter, Catherine, but who know if Sam have another kid somewhere. Go ahead and write it, Sam have another long lost kid. He like show girls. Catherine's mother is a showgirl.

Didn't the one in jail kill his brother? Maybe I need to watch the CSI DVDs again... though I only have Seasons 1-5 and I'm not sure if its in those seasons. Love your George avi by the way. :)

Yes, he killed his brother and he has help from the woman, I can't think of her name. The episode called, 'Burked.' Thanks, I like it too.

Well, I guess he won't be getting out of jail then. You know, for like half a second I actually considered making Sara the one to kill McKeane. Ultimately, I decided that it would be completely out of character for her though. Maybe Tina did. I don't know yet what to do. I guess I could just start writing and let it flow and see where it ends up.

Chapter Five: Not Much To Go On

Greg and Dawn had a get-together at their house after Warrick's funeral. Bobby, Nick, Grissom, Catherine, Brass, Wendy, Henry, Hodges, Archie, Dave and Doc Robbins were all there. Horatio, Calleigh and Eric had gone to try to find out whatever their could about McKeane. As of yet, the body found in the car had not been positively identified as McKeane.

"You know, honey," Greg started, "you never told me why you were in L.A."

She smiled and left the room for a second, returning with something in her hand. "Here."

"What's this?"

"Your answer." She said. "Put it in the player."

He got up and stuck the CD in the CD player. The music began to play and a female voice began to sing. "Is that you?" Greg asked, surprised.

"It is."

"You're a singer?" Catherine asked.

"Well, I did this CD as a favor to some friends of mine. They're making an independent movie and asked me to do the soundtrack."

"Did you write the songs too?" Wendy inquired.

"The lyrics, yeah, but not the music. I'm not that great at writing the music." She laughed.

"You have a very pretty voice, Dawn." Doc Robbins told her.

"He's in a band." Cath added.

"All of this CD is you, Dawn?' Hodges questioned.

"Yes, even the background vocals."

"Wow! It's almost like every song is a different style."

"It pretty much is. That's the way they asked me to do it."

"Do you Karaoke?" Wendy asked.

"I have, yeah."

"We should go sometime." Wendy told her.

"Yeah, we could do that. That would be cool." Dawn told the other woman.

Nick wasn't surprised to see that his little sister was already fitting in with the group. People always took to her really well. "Maybe we could all go sometime." Nick said.

Hodges thought that Nick was flirting with Wendy (which he wasn't) and got upset. "Nick, could I talk to you a second?"

"I meant all of us." Nick clarified (for Hodges' benefit). "The whole team." That seemed to calm Hodges down.

"Yeah, Nick's not a bad singer." Dawn said.

"What about you, Greg?" Cath asked.

"Uh, a little." Greg answered.

"Do you have any board games based on TV shows?" Hodges asked Dawn.

"Not here. A lot of my stuff is being shipped here from where I used to live."

"So, which ones do you have?"

"Buffy."

"That's it?"

"Well, no... of course I've got some based on some crime dramas. I don't think they made board games for most of the shows I watch or watched. Some of them need one, or at least a video game."

Horatio called Catherine. "Hello?" Catherine answered.

"Catherine, it's Horatio."

"Hey."

"I just wanted to let you know that we found some pieces of the car bomb that might lead us to a suspect. We're not sure yet. Something about it seems familiar, so I'm sending some stuff over to my lab in Miami. I'll let you know as soon as I find out anything more, but we really don't have a lot to go on yet."

"Thanks, Horatio. I have a feeling that someone bigger than McKeane was involved in this whole thing. Do we know yet if it was really him in that car?"

"Not yet. There wasn't much left of the body, so it might take a while longer. I'll keep you posted."

"Thanks." She hung up her phone. "That was Horatio. He said they haven't found out much, but he sent some stuff to Miami. He thinks there could be a connection there. He said he'd keep us posted." Catherine told Grissom.

"Okay, good. Let me know if you hear anything else."

"You'll be my first call."

Grissom smiled slightly. "Thanks."

"Greg," Archie said, "when are we gonna have some mini-Gregs running around?"

"Give them a break, Arch." Nick said. "They've not even been married a week yet." Everyone laughed.

"But, do you want kids, Greg?" Wendy asked.

Greg took Dawn's hand in his. "Yes, eventually." He answered. "We both do."

"Which would you rather have, a boy or a girl?" Bobby asked.

"Well, I want more than one. I'm an only child. I always wanted a sibling growing up."

"Well, now you sorta do." Wendy said.

"What?"

"Well, Nick." Wendy told him.

"Oh, right." Greg laughed.

"We have other brothers too." Nick told Wendy.

"There you go, Greg." Wendy said. "Do you want girls or boys?"

"Both." Greg said.

"I can see you with a little girl." Catherine said. "I bet she'd have you wrapped around her little finger."

Greg smiled. "Probably."

"What about you, Dawn?"

"What about me, Nicky?"

"Boys or girls?"

"Both."

"Just don't get pregnant too soon." Grissom said. "You start work next week."

-----------------

Sorry it took too long to get that chapter up. I was trying to decide what to do with it. I'll try to get the next one done soon. Does anyone know of any Miami character (villian that is) who could be connected to the Gedda/McKeane thing? I can't think of anyone. I could always make someone up if I have to, but I thought I'd ask just the same. :)

Great update. LOL at the Grissom line.

As for your question. I'm not to sure, I know Clavo Cruz did. But Horatio killed him.

You could try his older brother Ramon Cruz. Horatio put him away too. But as far as I know he's still alive.

Did Ramon Cruz's father have any ill will toward Horatio for putting Ramon in jail?

About the Grissom line, I'm glad that had the effect I meant for it to have. Grissom has a funny line every once in a while. I can actually picture him saying something like this.

Not really sure about that. Maybe for Ramon, cause he was his son. But it didn't seem like he did. I guess he could though. Or you could have Ramon escape from custody or something. Don't know:confused: Hope that helps.

Chapter Six: Dreaming, Scheming and Screaming

Greg woke up when he felt someone jump on the bed. "Daddy, get up!" A small voice said.

Greg opened his eyes and saw his small daughter smiling at him. "Good morning, princess." He said.

"Wanna hug, Daddy?" She asked.

"I would love a hug, sweetheart." He told her and she hugged him. "Thank you, baby." He kissed her forehead.

"I love you, Daddy."

"I love you too, angel." He kissed her forehead again. "Where's Mommy?"

"Right here." Dawn said, walking into the room. She was very pregnant. "Sweetie, I told you not to wake your Daddy." She told her daughter.

"It's okay, honey." Greg told his wife. "I needed to get up anyway."

A little boy the same age as the girl ran into the room. "Hi, Daddy!"

"Hey there, buddy. Come give Daddy a hug." Greg said and the boy jumped up on the bed to hug him.

"Greg!" Dawn exclaimed, looking down. "It's time!" Her water had broken.

"Greg, wake up!" Dawn said, shaking his arm lightly.

"Huh?" He opened his eyes. He looked at her and realized that she wasn't pregnant. "I just had this amazing dream."

"Really? I hope I was in it."

"Of course you were, but it wasn't that kind of dream."

"Oh?"

"We had two kids... a boy and a girl. I think they were twins and you were pregnant again."

"Wow, that's some dream. The guys really got you thinking about kids, huh?"

"Yeah, I guess."

"So, how did they look?"

"Like us of course." He said with a grin. "The little girl was just as beautiful as her mother."

"And the boy was of course as handsome as his Daddy?" She giggled.

"Something like that."

Catherine was watching tv with Lindsey and Nick when there was a knock on the door. She went to the door and opened it to find a teenage boy with blonde hair and blue eyes. "Lindsey!" She called.

Lindsey got up and walked toward the door. "Yes?" Lindsey asked her mother.

"Friend of yours?"

"No, I've never seen him before."

"I'm sorry, I'm looking for my father."

"Your father?"

"Horatio Caine."

"You're Horatio's son?"

"My name is Kyle. Is Dad here?"

"No, he's not here right now." She told him.

Lindsey went to sit back down on the couch with Nick. She leaned over and whispered to Nick. "He's cute." She said. Nick just chuckled softly.

"You're more than welcomed to come inside and wait for him." Catherine told Kyle.

"Thanks." Kyle said, walking inside.

"Would you like a soda?" Lindsey asked.

"Sure, thanks."

"Come with me." Lindsey told him. "Oh, that's Nick by the way. He works with Mom."

"Hey, Kyle." Nick said, shaking his hand.

"Come on." Lindsey told Kyle, leading him into the kitchen.

Catherine saw the huge grin on Nick's face. "What are you grinning about, Nicky?"

"I think your daughter has a crush."

"What?"

"She told me that she thinks Kyle is cute."

"Oh, brother." Cath said. "I'm not sure I'm ready for that."

"Well, if he's Horatio's kid, he's gotta be a pretty good kid, right?"

"Maybe. I better call Horatio." She picked up the phone and dialed.

Meanwhile, not far from Catherine's house, a man was in his car on his cellphone. "Yes, I took care of it, but..."

"But what?"

"I've got to warn you that Horatio Caine is not going to let this go. He is going to find out what you've been up to."

"I'm not worried about Horatio Caine. I have insurance where he is concerned. I've already set that plan into motion."

"The boy." The man said, knowingly. "If I were you, I wouldn't mess with Horatio's family. You won't survive."

"I'll take my chances."

"We're even now, right?"

"Yes, we're even."

"Good." The man hung up the phone and started his car.

Back inside Catherine's house, everyone was sitting down watching a movie. They heard a loud explosion followed by screams and a car alarm going off.

"What was that?" Lindsey asked.

"I don't know." Nick said, grabbing his gun. "You all stay here. I'll go check it out."

"Nick!" Catherine exclaimed. "You can't go out there by yourself!" She grabbed her gun and followed Nick to the door. "Lindsey, you and Kyle stay here and don't come outside for any reason. Lock the door and don't let anyone in unless its Horatio or someone else we know and trust."

"Got it, Mom." Lindsey said.

Nick and Catherine opened the door to see Horatio on the other side. "Horatio!" Catherine said. "What is going on out there?"

"A car exploded." Horatio said, walking inside. "I was afraid it might be a diversion and that someone was using it to get to Kyle." He walked toward Kyle. "Are you okay, son?"

"I'm fine, Dad. Why would someone be after me?"

"Kyle, I'm afraid I have some bad news."

"What is it?"

"Kyle, your Mom..." he paused, not knowing how he was going to tell his son this.

"What happened?"

"She was killed. I'm sorry, son."

(end of chapter)

Yeah, I think that it would have been a much more shocking and unexpected season finale of CSI: Miami if they'd had Julia get killed instead Horatio being seemingly shot.
