24

Holy Mole-y! Dana! Didn't see that one coming. Who screens these people for CTU? Still, it makes for good drama, and Katee will be getting some good material, I think.
And YAY for Chloe! Great episode for her. 'I'm sure you're a nice guy when you're not at work'.
Chloe and Renee to Jack's rescue. Gotta love it!
Another awesome episode.

Loved this episode! I'm so glad Renee is back and kicking a**. Chloe made me laugh so much during this episode . She pulled the gun on the guy and broke all the rules but her awkwardness was always there and it was so funny. Gotta love her.

Dana... OMG. I should've seen it coming. I don't know how these people still manage to surprise me...

Dana, I knew she was bad but I didn't expect her to be working with the bad guys! I love that 24 leaves you wanting more, I hope NBC picks it up

I never cared for Dana but now that we know she's a mole...her storyline should be very interesting. :)

I wasn't an NBC viewer until I started watching Chuck (thanks to Melinda Clarke) and now "Parenthood" (thanks to Lauren Graham) so seeing Jack on NBC wouldn't be so bad.

From IMDB.com:

24 Officially Canceled

Earlier this month it was reported that this season of 24 would likely be
the last for the series as the ratings have dropped and Fox seems
disinterested in continuing production. At the time it was mentioned that
the studio is considering shopping the series to other networks, but
everyone believed that interest would probably be limited due to the high
costs involved. It was later reported that Fox has been approached by NBC
to pick up the series. But that last ditch effort did not come through.
Series director/producer Jon Cassar announced minutes ago on Twitter that
the show has been officially canceled: News from the 24 set,the crew has
been told that 24 has come to an end. There will b no season 9. Its been a
great run, thanx all 4 watching

Previously: Last month it was announced that Billy Ray had been hired to
pen the screenplay for a big screen 24 movie. All we know about the
planned story for the feature film is that it will be set in Europe.
Kiefer Sutherland and producers have said that the big screen movie would
be “a two-hour representation of a day.” Ray’s filmography includes State
of Play, Flightplan, Suspect Zero, Hart’s War, Volcano and Moon director
Duncan Jones’ upcoming much-buzzed about project Source Code. He both
wrote and directed Breach and Shattered Glass.

At the time, studio insiders cautioned that a 24 movie “is still very much
in the preliminary stages,” and that there are “a number of factors
influencing how quickly it moves ahead, including the fate of the TV
show.” Fox had not yet decided if they want to order a ninth season of the
series, although it has been expected that this will be the final season.
24 has lost over 10% of the show’s total viewership from last year, down
over 15% in adults 18-49.

It is hard to imagine that Fox would spend the millions and millions
required for a big screen feature if they weren’t impressed with the
ratings enough to renew the television series for a tenth season. Stranger
things have happened (Arrested Development was canceled and will
eventually become a big screen feature). Sutherland is said to be eager in
getting the series to the big screen. It would be nice to see a big screen
24, with a big blockbuster budget. But without the real-time structure,
won’t it just another action film, but with the characters we’ve gotten to
know from television? I wonder how it could/would be different.

A big screen movie would probably guarantee that Bauer will survive his
eighth crazy day. Since first discovering the series in 2001, I had hoped
that Bauer would someday die on screen, in the possible biggest twist the
series could possibly pull. I know a lot of fans would hate for that to
happen, but I think it would be the ultimate way to conclude the series —
with CTU and Jack’s friends having to save the day without him, in his
honor. Sutherland and 24 producers have always said that Bauer’s death was
an extreme possibility.

From Tvguide online this little tidbit from the story about why another network hasn't picked it up.

Despite reports that NBC was considering picking up the action series if it were canceled, Gordon told The Hollywood Reporter that the writers could not come up with a story line for the ninth season.
"If one of the writers came up with a good idea, I'd happily pitch it to Kiefer and then happily pitch to a network, whether Fox or someone else," Gordon said. "We just don't have that idea, and that's where everything has to start."

^^ Well that was kind of coming. I am sure they started to be out of ideas and making new season would be just repeat and people getting bored.

Ah well, have to watch dvds so can get my Kieferdose <3

Uh, I have bad feeling about the movie. There are two big ways to fail it: Too much in too short time or it will miss something when they try to pull story thru in 2-3h

it is a shame to see the series end but i think the movie might do pretty well. i agree with you on getting the dvd's ready for a dose of kiefe. i can also think of a few movies to watch with him in it.

Another great episode last night. No real surprises, but more obstacles for Jack to overcome. 'The plot thickens ' is an understatement for this show.
I like how they are promoting the 'end' of 24 and the final episodes. Like 'Lost', it really builds the suspense.
The real question with '24' is, and always has been, who will survive. Can't wait to see the Jack/Dana confrontation.
This show is definitely going out on a high note. Kudos to the producers for recognizing the importance of this, and not letting the show limp to the finish line. (Please take note producers of the CSI franchise and CBS.)

Question: Since this is the last season of 24, I need some scoop.
Ausiello:
Fans hoping for a Jack/Audrey reunion are out of luck. Although exec producer Howard Gordon admits he’s “personally curious” about what happened to Audrey, he says the fate of Kim Raver’s bedridden character will remain one of the show’s “unresolved” mysteries.

One of the most emotionally charged episodes of the season in last night's 2 hour offering.
A very sad ending.
Poor Hassan. Just when I start liking a character, they tend to be goners.
The good news, I guess, is that Dana's immunity contract is null and void. Although, I figured they would eventually get her for murder when the corpse starts smelling in a few days. I admit to rooting for Cole to just shoot her in the parking lot. :D

Not sure how I feel about the exPres Nutjob coming back. He was so believably slimy. Maybe he'll get killed. At least in this show, that's always a real possibility. Are people still doing body counts for 24?

Yes it was a sad ending. :( I was so surprise they killed him! And to hear no clock at the end. Wow!

Dana makes me sick. :scream: Cole shooting Dana would have been perfect.

I have no clue on the body count.

I loved last week's episode, my only disappointment was Hassan's murder. I was hoping Jack and Renee would reach in time to save him. I was also hoping to see someone kick Dana's butt! Cole and Jack should've had more time with her, I could tell Cole just wanted to pull that trigger on her. Poor guy!
