Script Errors, Mistakes & Goofs

Re: Errors

I remember on one show Catherine dropped Lindsey off at her sister's house to spend the night. I think the sister had a kid too, as I remember she went back to see her while Lindsey was still sleeping as she had dealt with a rough murder, I think it was something to do with a child. She has at least one sister.

That was in the Pilot, before they had fleshed out their characters properly. Catherine's sister and Sara's brother are what I like to call the "convenient siblings". They're only around when they need to make a point of some kind. In the Pilot, they wanted a big show of how Catherine is a single mother, so they needed some place for her kid to be while she worked, conveniently, there's the sister. She's never been mentioned again. Then in One Hit Wonder, they needed a story from Sara's childhood about intentions...older brother with weed. Never heard from him again either. The writers throw stuff out there when they need it and then just leave it hanging.

Re: Catherine (again!)
Was watching Table Stakes last night, and she says in it that she has lived in Las Vegas for 20 years, so obviously not a native, but no more than that! Who knows, 'tis a mystery :)

Re: Errors

thanks to living in guelph for school, i have now become educated in water softeners.
i forget the name of the episode, but its the one where there was blood all over this guys apartment walls that turned out to be the guy blowing it through his nose. anyways, in the end grissom finds the body in the water softener. he says 'water softeners are hollow, they only have about a foot of water in them' but as i learned, they should be filled at least halfway with salt, leaving no room for a body inside.

Re: Errors

allmaple you said that they "SHOULD be filled half way with salt" maybe it wasn't filled that much in order to make room for the body or maybe it wasn't refilled like you're supposed to do but sometimes forget

Re: Errors

In the first episodes of season 1 I remember seeing some dead bodies still breathing in the morgue.

Re: Errors

One particular error that bugs me to no end comes from the eppy Suckers.

Grissom keeps saying that the 17th century suit of Japanese armour is out of place because the Japanese military wasn't established until the 19th century.

In actuality, when the Japanese military was established, the emperor modeled it on Western armies, including the uniforms. Their uniforms looked alot like a cross between what the US and British officers were wearing at the time.

If you've ever seen old movies of WWII, it's a good example since they (the uniforms) hadn't really evolved all that much.

The Samurai armour they show in the eppy is completely in keeping with stuff you would see a Samurai wearing in 17th century Japan.

Being a bit of history buff, this particular mistake drives me batty. I find myself getting all bent out of shape about it whenever I watch Suckers.

<<Sheesh, obsess much???

Re: Errors

One error I noticed was first shown in "Cats in the Cradle." Doc Robbins tells Grissom and Catherine that he doesn't like cats, but in "Iced," he comes back from his break because his cat just had a litter of kittens, and in "Dog Eat Dog" after looking at the dog-eaten body, he says something like, "Once again, this is why I don't like dogs."

Re: Errors

Not so much an error, just funny. In 'Gum Drops'(i think thats the right episode) when Eric bumped his head on the car but just kept going. I would have fallen to the floor in a fit of laughter if i did that.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation mistake

In the episode titled "And Then There Were None" they made a mistake. When they were taking the bullet out of the guy who was dressed as a women and robbed the casino, as they were taking the bulet out u could see the victims eyes blink. I have no idea how i noticed that. :p

Re: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation mistake

That's interesting. ;)

But is this thread meant to be about just CSI Vegas? If so, I'll move it to the Vegas forum. :)

Re: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation mistake

I noticed it too! And in another episode (can't remember which one), I saw a cadaver breathe!

Re: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation mistake

I didn't notice that at all. Good eye ;) *goes and watches episdoe in slow motion* :D

Re: CSI: Crime Scene Investigation mistake

I often see how the dead bodies breathe or blink lol... If you look closely you realize they do it all the time.
