That Vartann and Catherine are in a "committed" relationship isn't a canon fact based on what they've shown, though, and that's what I was talking about with the Danny and Lindsay comparison on NY. Just because Vartann asked Catherine to move in with him doesn't mean they are in an exclusive relationship.

But surely you wouldn't ask someone to move in with you if you weren't in a committed relationship?

You would if you wanted the relationship to become exclusive or if you weren't on the same page with the other person. Catherine said, "no," and they had some issues after that so I personally don't think it's fair to assume they were exclusive even if Vartann showed definite signs of wanting to be exclusive.

I agree that it would be ideal for TPTB make it clear that they are not exclusive or have broken up if they're going to have Catherine sleeping with someone else, but based on the franchise's history (ie, Danny and Lindsay) I'm not holding my breath for that to happen. I just think it's a shame for people to jump to the conclusion Catherine is "cheating" or "sleeping around" if it hasn't been clarified that's what she's doing.

Has there been a clip of CSI Down shown yet, or pics? I keep recalling a scene with Ecklie and Morgan hugging, but it seems to me it was in last week's promo and I know it wouldn't be right unless they screwed up this week and next week.

Jesus. Why are you making Catherine out to be some sort of whore just because she sleeps with someone? She hits it off with someone in a similar career field, they have some chemistry, they take it to the next level. No big deal. It's not like it's someone she met on a case, or someone she works with. It's not like she's working her way up the chain of command "On her back" so to speak. She's only human, and is only showing human proclivities.

If it were Nick, Greg or someone else, would you be demonizing them, and being so "dissapointed" about the development? I don't think so.

I think the problem is that most believed Cath was still involved with Lou. The writers haven't made it clear what the status of that relationship is. People just worried at first that she'd be OOC if she got with the FBI guy while still in a relationship with Lou (being that she's been cheated on by at least two men ... Eddie and Chris). If she and Vartann are not together anymore and the writers make that clear before the episode where she's with this FBI agent, I see nothing wrong with her being with the FBI agent. And since the spoilers say FBI guy is just a fling, hopefully that leaves some hope that Cath will get back together with Lou before she leaves the show.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation Episode 12.09, "Zippered"

Laura: Catherine (Marg Helgenberger)'s old friend, she's a beautiful, smart, put together, monied woman who is delighted to see Catherine again after 22 years. Married to the billionaire head of a U.S. military contractor, she seems to have it all. However, when she and Catherine get together to talk about old times, Laura reveals surprising terror underneath her cheery, charming exterior, a terror that Catherine suspects stems directly back to her husband. GUEST STAR/4 EPISODE ARC

It seems this is the character TV Guide mentioned in their cover story.

And things get complicated this winter when an old friend of Catherine's goes missing and Catherine's safety is jeopardized as she investigates the powerful man her friend is dating.

I think Cath's relationship problem is that she was emotionally burned by her experiences with Eddie and she subconsciously starts backing away from any boyfriend who wants to make a serious commitment, as Vartann was doing. As I recall, the major problem in the Vartann-Cath relationship started when he realized that Cath had not told him about her ownership interest in a casino. He was hurt that Cath hadn't trusted him.

I'm missing a lot of characters this season, not just Vartann. That new ballistics tech really annoys me for some reason, and have we even seen Archie yet? But I'm liking Ted Danson a lot, and really liking that Greg's excitable, funny side is back on the scene. :)

Until next week it seems-- it's been years since we've seen Sanders riled at something! Personally I think he ordered a bunch of expensive electronic boy-toys, which the company sent to the wrong address. :p

Thanks for posting the new promo Dizzney!
