Season 12 Spoiler Lab Discussion Part 2

Now that I think about it, perhaps Vartann/Cath/G-man is the love triangle Elisabeth was referring to in her interview. She never said the love triangle involved her character... and technically if Greg liked her, but she liked Nick and if Nick did like her (which it doesn't appear he does in that way), that would be more of a love circle than triangle (according to urban dictionary). Love triangles are usually when one person is torn between two others. So if Cath is torn between Lou and the G-man, that is a proper love triangle.

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about that, you might be right

Some more info from TV Guide:

What's up for Catherine in her last season on CSI? — Meg
ADAM: The show is cooking up lots of stories for her final season, most significantly a potential relationship. First, we'll meet an old friend Catherine hasn't seen in 22 years, but don't let that distract you from the real sparks. A sexy FBI agent is waiting in the wings. Their initial meeting is not cute: His team "assists" on one of the CSI team's cases, much to Catherine's chagrin. But once the pair survives a brush with death, they decide to celebrate ... with a roll in the hay.

It seems like maybe tptb have completely forgotten about Vartann and he's just disappeared like Sofia did... only in his case if Cath isn't there anymore, there will be no reason for him to reappear years later. :(

I don't like this at all. Very very disappointed in tptb for this storyline. I think they should drop it (since they apparently haven't filmed yet as they're still casting it) and come up with something better. What's wrong with putting Cath and Vartann in the same dangerous situation, having them both survive and celebrate by taking their relationship to the next step as Lou wanted to do last season (ie moving in together)? They have to know that pretty much none of the fanbase is going to like this whole Cath/gman hookup thing. Why would they do something that is likely to piss off a large percentage of the fanbase?

I just hope it doesn't turn into CSI Miami, take two...Again, no offense to Miami fans, but I prefer my CSI without the side of soapiness.

Jesus wept...and there went my interest in Catherine's exit arc. Weren't Nick and Grissom meant to be involved in her exit - where do they fit into this!?

Interesting. So Laura is in four episodes, so she must be a key player in Catherine's exit (this would put her leaving in episode 12). I'm intrigued, but still hoping Grissom will show up.

It keeps getting worse!!!!!!!!!

Of all the ways they could write Catherine out, and all the loose ends they could tie up (Stephanie Watson, Sam's Casinos, etc.), they choose this.....rubbish? For Pete's sake. AND she's sleeping with the FBI agent? Vartann WHO? I swear, if she sleeps with FBI guy while still dating Lou, I will be....well, even more pissed than I already am. How are you going to have a woman who's been cheated on multiple times turn around and cheat on her man? That's the stupidest thing I've ever heard of.

The only way that this storyline will not annoy me is if Carol Mendelsohn makes a cameo as some random character, and Grissom reappears and slaps her upside the head.

No, no, Grissom would never hit a woman who hadn't kidnapped Sara! :)

Wow, the new spoilers have me wondering about Catherine and her exit. I guess we will see what happens.
