"Working Stiffs" Discussion *SPOILERS*

I liked this episode, gruesome as the ending was. It was so different, more artistic than what I'm used to seeing in the series. CSI Las Vegas does some wonderful things with unusual stories, but this one included the moving back and forth in time to a level I hadn't seen before.

I keep waiting for Ray to become less than someone on the outside looking in, and am not feeling it. I like the character and LF's portrayal of Ray, but I feel no connection between Ray and the rest of the characters. Grissom was a loner yet he was part of the group, so it's not the loner in Ray. I worry that LF's work is perhaps more sophisticated than a weekly television show calls for. The nuances don't come across well in what is basically an action show? IDK...

I am on my 3rd attempt at trying to finish this episode. Its very boring and way to much Ray once again. I have about 15 minutes left to watch.....I hope the ending is good!

It took me several tries too, I never saw the first 20 mins either...I kind of missed it and didn't care, the ending is good though :) it makes it all worth it :)

I will say that I liked the ending. The song (which I too confess to have thought to be Ice Ice Baby) fit in nicely. I was getting pissed when it looked like he was going to escape, but than it went back and I was happy. I will also confess that I laughed when I saw him dangling there, stuck by the door. Yeah, I'm twisted.

I don't know I guess the ending was good....but I was so bored by the rest of the episode by that point I was hoping for it to be over. If I hadn't read about the song I would have thought it was Ice Ice Baby as well at first.

I am not going to be happy with this season if it continues to be all about Ray.

I enjoyed the episode, liked how we found out who the killer was right away, and how his plan came to be discovered by his eventual victim, and how he tried to evade capture. I understand everyone's frustration with the screentime Ray is getting, but I've accepted that that's just the way it's going to be. Not everyone is going to, and I get that, but personally I feel like it's a whole lot less frustrating if I just accept that as the new reality and move on.

I actually kinda liked the episode (then again I'm on like 17 different kinds of meds at the moment, so...It might not have been as good as I thought.)

I was on pain killers once while watching Grave Danger for a third time..and laughed my head off all the way through..yeah that was mean..but hey!!

Which is why Vanilla Ice had to pay David Bowie royalties for stealing the riff. ;)

Did Queen get into that lawsuit? I wondered about that the very first time I heard the rip-off. I also remember Vanilla Ice saying something about adding a note to make it different.

Thank you. I thought that Shankar had lost his mind at the end with playing Vanilla Ice....

Haha, I actually like "Ice Ice Baby" (that's probably the only song of his I still like). I used to like "I love you", but I listened to it probably a year ago and had to turn it off. But for some reason when I was a kid I liked it.

I really enjoyed this episode a lot. I thought the actors were really good. I was glad that the IT Geek got wasted!

I also love Hodges back to form with the super-duper OTT explanations; great to see him back to character!

Too much Ray? Maybe, but if it was Grissom, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't be that bothered. I would like to see a lot more of Cath though. Nice that Nick is leading investigations in the field. I've never been a Greg fan, although I think the actor is great. I could quite happily loose the Greg character and not be that bothered by the fact. Weirdly, the lack of Sarah concerned me more for some reason.. I used to detest her character, now I seriously miss her when she's not here and we're only at episode 3...

This was a really nice episode. Nice that Cath knew the casino dirty - which gave the answers they needed. I give this episode a A personally.. It ticked all the boxes for me!

IMO, one can't really compare Grissom's scenes to Ray's. Grissom's been there since the beginning (ie first ep) as have Cath, Nick, Greg and Brass. IMO any lead shouldn't get twice or thrice the number of scenes that the other "main" characters get, a few more, sure, that's understandable. It bothers me on Miami when Horatio gets like 14-18 scenes and the others get like 4 or 5 (at best) ... well, except for Calleigh and Eric (at least the last couple of seasons) who tend to get at least 10. However, it's even worse in my opinion when someone new comes in (lead or not) and gets double or triple the amount of scenes/focus than the vets of the show. Even still, I think in many episodes Ray is getting way more scenes than Grissom ever got and that bothers me too.
