Chapter 19
Eric brought the soup upstairs to his son. Natalia sat and fed him as he looked to weak to feed himself. After he got done eating Natalia laid with him until he fell asleep. She rubbed his baby soft hair and sang to him. Eric stood in the doorway and watched. He loved her so much and knew that he would never be able to live a day without her. After Brysen fell asleep, Natalia got up and walked to the door and stood their with Eric and watched her son sleep. Eric wrapped his arms around her waist as she placed her hands on his elbows. He leaned down and kissed her. As they separated, Natalia took off running into their bedroom. Eric followed and could hear her throwing up. He walked into the bathroom and saw his girlfriend sitting on the bathroom floor by the toilet.
"Morning sickness?" Eric said looking at her.
"Yea." Natalia said rolling her eyes.
"Would you like some water?"
"If you don't mind."
"And gum?" Eric said pulling out a packet of gum.
"Very funny." Natalia said taking the water from his hand and drinking it. Eric walked over and helped her stand up. He walked downstairs with her and they walked into the kitchen.
"What you want for lunch?" Eric said looking at her.
"Something that will not set this baby into "let's make mommy puke" mode." Natalia said chuckling.
"Well then you can eat cereal or salad, while I eat a steak." Eric said pulling out a big steak.
"That's not fair!" Natalia said whining as she watched him cut open the wrap.
"Well, take a chance with the baby and mommy puking and I'll fix you one."
"No, I'll just eat mashed potatoes."
"Ok." Eric said as he saw her run to the sink. As she retched he held her long, dark brown hair back. He grabbed a bottle of water and handed it to her. As she regained her strength she turned to him and thanked him. He smiled at her and placed a hand on her stomach and rubbed it lightly while he kissed her. After they separated he bent down and kissed her stomach.
"Hey little one. Now there's no need making mommy get sick every few minutes. I mean I know you're supposed to but save daddy some worry. I can't wait to see you and I know mommy has been taking good care of you in there so repay her by not making her sick. I love you." He said kissing her stomach again. He then stood up and kissed Natalia again.
"I love you." Natalia said as they separated.
"No, I love you." Eric said smiling at her.
"Come on, let's feed this little one." Eric said smiling at her.
"Ugh, ok." Natalia said as she opened the box of mashed potatoes and started fixing them as she knew what kind of consequences could follow.
After they got done eating Natalia went and checked on Brysen. As she walked into his room she saw his face beat red and he was sweating. She ran over to him and recognized he wasn't breathing.
"Eric!" Natalia screamed.
"What?" Eric said running up to Brysens room.
"He, he's not breathing." Natalia said as she looked at Eric and tears started falling.
"Ok, pick him up and go get the Hummer started. We're going to the hospital." Eric said running back into his room.
"Ok." Natalia said picking her son up and running downstairs and to the Hummer.
Eric flew down the interstate to the hospital. When they got there, they ran inside carrying their son.
"I need help! My sons not breathing, and he's sweating and hot." Eric said running up to the front desk.
The nurse took the young boy from his father and immediately started doing CPR.
"I need Dr. Conrad here immediately!" The nurse screamed as she picked the little boy up and put him on a bed and started hooking ivs into him. When the doctor got there they rolled him back to a room. A nurse took Natalia and Eric to the childrens waiting room. As they sat there waiting to hear what was wrong with their son, Eric wrapped his arm around Natalia and rubbed her shoulder softly. He could hear her crying.
"He's gonna be ok Nat."
"How do you know?"
"I just do. He has parents that fight, so he's a fighter. I mean look at you, when I first met you, you were in a hospital on your death bed and you're still here. I have been through alot with our job like fighting bullets from being shot into me. So I know he's gonna fight." Eric said as he rubbed her hand that was laced within his.
"I hope you're right." Natalia said as she fell asleep.
As the hours passed Eric began to wonder if he was right. 3 hours later the nurse opened the door to the waiting room.
"Mr. and Mrs. Delko?"
"Yes?" The both said as they stood up. Natalia liked the way she said their names. Mr. and Mrs. Delko. They weren't married yet, but hopefully soon they would be.
"Brysen is stable. We did some tests on him to try and figure out what made this happen and we couldn't find anything. His fever has gone down and his face isn't red anymore. We'll probably keep him a few days to make sure everything runs smoothly and until he can breathe on his own." The nurse said as she walked them to his room. As they entered it they saw their 3 year old son hooked up to machines. Some were pushing fluids into him and another helping him breathe, and another monitoring his heart beat. Natalia let out a sigh as she walked to the side of her sons bed.
"Hi mommy." Brysen said looking tiredly at her.
"Hey baby." Natalia said running her fingers through he thick brown hair.
"What happened? Why am I here?"
"You're really sick and the doctors don't know why and so they're trying to figure out why you're so sick." Natalia said as she rubbed his leg. Eric sat there and watched as a smile crept onto his face. The way she talked to their son reassured him that everything would be ok. He knew he would never be able to leave her side.
"When do I get to go home with you and daddy?"
"Whenever the doctor tells us you can." Eric said getting up and walking up behind Natalia.
"Ugh, I don't like it here. I scares me."
"Just like your mommy." Eric said smiling at Natalia who smiled back.
"You'll probably have to stay here a few days to see if they can figure out what's wrong." Natalia said looking back at her son.
"Ok, but ya'll are gonna stay with me right?"
"Of course. We would never leave you." Eric said rubbing his sons foot.
"Good. I love you."
"We love you too baby." Natalia said kissing her son on the head which was followed by Eric doing the same.
That night they all 3 fell asleep in that hospital room. Natalia of course having the recliner as Eric took the chair.
Chapter 19

Chapter 20
The next few days passed and the doctors still couldn't find anything. They gave him some medication to take at home and dismissed him from the hospital.
"Home sweet home." Natalia said stepping through the door.
"Can I go swimming?"
"I think you need to rest." Natalia said looking down at her son and on the "you" she touched his nose.
"But mom..." Brysen whined.
"No buts. You can after you take a nap. Come on let's go get you changed into more comfortable clothes."
"Ooooo, can I put on one of daddy's shirts?" He said his brown eyes getting really big as he turned around to Natalia causing her to stumble on the stairs. Eric watched from the living room and smiled.
"You gotta ask daddy." Natalia said turning around and looking at Eric.
"Daddy, daddy, can I wear one of your tshirts?" Brysen said running down the stairs and over to Eric.
"Sure bud, you can."
"Yes!" Brysen yelled and he threw his hands in the air and then pulled them down to his sides quickly.
"He said I could." Brysen said running back to Natalia and flying past her and into their room. Natalia aided her son in finding a shirt and walked into the room tucking him in bed. She walked back downstairs and found Eric sitting on the couch. She walked over and sat down beside him. She leaned up and kissed his lips. After they separated she smiled up at him.
"I love you."
"I love you too." Eric said smiling back at her.
5 months pregnant....
"Eric, we gotta go! I'll be late." Natalia called from downstairs.
"I'm coming. Why do you pregnant women get ready faster when you're pregnant then when you're not?"
"We can't help it." Natalia said as they walked out and left.
At the doctors.....
"Well Mr. and Mrs. Delko, it looks like ya'll are having a baby girl." The doctor said as she looked at the screen. Natalia heard sniffling and turned towards Eric. She saw a tear fall and started laughing.
"It's not funny." Eric said smiling at her.
"I haven't had her yet!"
"I know but it's so cool to see her on that screen and know that she's half mine and she's inside you."
"I can't wait to see you when she's born." Natalia said chuckling.
"You better watch it."
"Ok I'll clean this up and let ya'll get back to your lives." The doctor said smiling at them both.
"A little girl." Natalia said smiling at her stomach placing her hands on it.
"I hope she looks just like you, so every time I see her, I see you." Eric said placing his hand on top of hers.
"Awww, that was sweet." Natalia said smiling at him.
"People usually say that about me." Eric said trying to act all big and bad as he helped Natalia up.
Natalia playfully slapped him in the stomach as they walked out of the room and to the Hummer.
2 months later Natalia and Eric were walking down the beach, hand in hand, watching Brysen play in the water. Natalia had told him not to since he was in nicer clothes but he did anyway.
"Gotta love having a kid that listens so very well." Natalia said as she smiled at Brysen.
"Just think, in two months, you'll have another one that does the same thing."
"I'll have another one? I think it's we'll have another one." Natalia said as they finished their walk and headed back to the house.

Chapter 21
2 months later, Natalia had been having contractions but nothing to major so she went into work with Eric. Horatio had put her in the lab that month in case something happened.
"Ugh." Natalia moaned as she held her stomach.
"Is everything ok baby?" Alexx said walking in.
"It's just the contractions."
"Baby, what are you doing here then?"
"They're nothing to major so I came in to work. I'm fine."
"Ok, well if you need anything...." Alexx started.
"I'll call you." Natalia said smiling at her friend.
"That's right. How long have you been feeling them?"
"6 hours now. They started early this morning. Let's see it was about 7 when they started."
"Ok, well, just take it easy."
"I will." Natalia said as Alexx left.
2 more hours passed and Natalia started to worry as her contractions had started coming a lot faster in those two hours. She walked to the bathroom cause she had an urge to go pee. As she sat on the toilet, her water broke.
"Oh, God." Natalia said under her breath. She whipped out her phone and started to dial Alexx's number.
"Hello?"
"Alexx, I need you. I'm in the bathroom."
"Ok. I'm coming."
Within seconds Alexx was there. Natalia come out of the stall and was holding onto the counter for support.
"What happened?" Alexx said walking over to her.
"My water broke."
"Ok. Let's get you to my room before anything else happens." Alexx said grabbing her hand and guiding her to her room. About every 10 minutes Natalia would scrunch her face up in pain as the contractions came.
"I'm gonna go get Eric." Alexx said leaving the room. She started walking to the front of the office.
"Eric!"
"Hey Alexx."
"You have to come now." She said pulling his arm.
"Why, what is it? I really need to scan these prints."
"It's Nat."
"What? What's wrong."
"She's in labor. Been in it for about 10 hours now. She could have the baby at any minute."
"Where is she?"
"In my office. Come on." Alexx led Eric to her office.
"Oh dear God." Natalia screamed as they opened the door. Eric ran over to her side.
"I'm here. Breathe, just breathe." Eric said rubbing her forehead while holding her hand. He started breathing with her until her breathing became steady with his. Every time a contraction came he would breathe her through it. 5 more hours passed. Contractions were only 1 minute apart.
"You ready?" Alexx said looking at Natalia who already had sweat pouring down her face.
"Yes. God, yes."
"Ok, push." Alexx said. She repeated that step until a small figure fell into her hands. She cleaned it and wrapped it up in a blanket and handed it to it's mother.
"Congratulations. It's a little girl."
"She's beautiful." Eric said as a tear fell from his eye.
"She looks just like you." He said as he kissed Natalia on the lips.
"I'm so proud of you." He said staring at her after they separated.
"What ya'll gonna name her?" Alexx said looking at them.
"Braliegh." Natalia said smiling down at her daughter.
"Beautiful name for a beautiful girl." Alexx said walking over to them.
"I'll leave you two alone." Alexx said leaving.
"Well, I got my wish." Eric said sitting down beside Natalia.
"And what was that?"
"She looks just like you." He said smiling at her and then leaning in and kissing her.
Chapter 21

"Oh how I've missed the sound of a baby's cry at 3 in the morning." Natalia said as she groaned and got out of bed.
Natalia walked into the nursery and picked her little girl up and carried her back into their room.
"Shhhhh..." Natalia said as she bounced her little girl up and down as her baby stopped crying.
"What a great touch you have." Eric said smiling at her.
"I know. It must be a mother thing." Natalia said placing their daughter down in her crib in their room.
"Daddy has the same touch." Eric said getting up and walking over to the crib.
"If you make her cry I sware you gonna stay up with her." Natalia said hopping in bed.
"I'm not gonna touch her, chill out." Eric said running back to the bed and hopping in.
"But you on the other hand, I could touch you all night." Eric said leaning in and kissing her. His hands found her waist and pulled her closer.
"Yea, I can see that." Natalia said smiling up at him.
"I love you so much. I never want to let you go." Eric said running his fingers through her hair.
"I love you too." Natalia said as she rested her head on his chest. He could hear that her breathing became steady and he knew she was asleep.
The next day.....
"Ok, daddy is going to work and he'll be back home tonight." Eric said as he kissed his 3 favorite people and left.
At work.....
"Eric we got a scene." Horatio said as Eric followed him to the Hummer. When they got to the crime scene they cleared it so they could start the investigation. As they started towards the house they heard a gun lock in.
"Eric, get down." Horatio said as he heard the gun shot fire.
Eric moved and the guy shot him in the leg. He immediately fell to the ground and started moaning in pain.
"Eric?"
"I'm good H."
Horatio shot at the guy till he fell down. He turned around to Eric and slowly pulled his sunglasses off. They exchanged smiles until they heard another gun shot and Eric fell to the ground. Horatio ran over to his side.
"Eric, Eric." Horatio said as he shook him.
"Hold on."
Horatio called 911.
"Hello?"
"Natalia?"
"Yea H?"
"Listen something has happened."
"Ok, like what?"
"Eric...."
"Horatio? What happened to Eric?"
"He, he's been shot."
"Where at?"
"In the leg..."
"H? There's something else you're not telling me."
"He was shot in the head as well."
"Oh, God." Natalia said as she held her stomach.
"He's still alive right?"
"He's been rushed to Miami Dade Hopsital Emergency. I think you should meet us there."
"Ok."
Chapter 22
"Oh how I've missed the sound of a baby's cry at 3 in the morning." Natalia said as she groaned and got out of bed.
Natalia walked into the nursery and picked her little girl up and carried her back into their room.
"Shhhhh..." Natalia said as she bounced her little girl up and down as her baby stopped crying.
"What a great touch you have." Eric said smiling at her.
"I know. It must be a mother thing." Natalia said placing their daughter down in her crib in their room.
"Daddy has the same touch." Eric said getting up and walking over to the crib.
"If you make her cry I sware you gonna stay up with her." Natalia said hopping in bed.
"I'm not gonna touch her, chill out." Eric said running back to the bed and hopping in.
"But you on the other hand, I could touch you all night." Eric said leaning in and kissing her. His hands found her waist and pulled her closer.
"Yea, I can see that." Natalia said smiling up at him.
"I love you so much. I never want to let you go." Eric said running his fingers through her hair.
"I love you too." Natalia said as she rested her head on his chest. He could hear that her breathing became steady and he knew she was asleep.
The next day.....
"Ok, daddy is going to work and he'll be back home tonight." Eric said as he kissed his 3 favorite people and left.
At work.....
"Eric we got a scene." Horatio said as Eric followed him to the Hummer. When they got to the crime scene they cleared it so they could start the investigation. As they started towards the house they heard a gun lock in.
"Eric, get down." Horatio said as he heard the gun shot fire.
Eric moved and the guy shot him in the leg. He immediately fell to the ground and started moaning in pain.
"Eric?"
"I'm good H."
Horatio shot at the guy till he fell down. He turned around to Eric and slowly pulled his sunglasses off. They exchanged smiles until they heard another gun shot and Eric fell to the ground. Horatio ran over to his side.
"Eric, Eric." Horatio said as he shook him.
"Hold on."
Horatio called 911.
"Hello?"
"Natalia?"
"Yea H?"
"Listen something has happened."
"Ok, like what?"
"Eric...."
"Horatio? What happened to Eric?"
"He, he's been shot."
"Where at?"
"In the leg..."
"H? There's something else you're not telling me."
"He was shot in the head as well."
"Oh, God." Natalia said as she held her stomach.
"He's still alive right?"
"He's been rushed to Miami Dade Hopsital Emergency. I think you should meet us there."
"Ok."

Chapter 23
At the hospital....
"Nat." Calleigh said as Natalia came running down the hall.
"Where is he? I want to see him." Natalia said trying to push past Horatio.
"Natalia." Horatio said smooth and calm. Natalia kept fighting against him.
"Natalia, I think it's..."
"No, no, no. I want to see him." Natalia said as the tears fell and she finally gave up and she collapsed in Horatio's arms. He held her and rubbed her head. He hated seeing her like this.
"He's gonna be ok." Horatio said kissing her forhead and rubbing her back. The rest of the team came over and rubbed her back as well. 2 hours passed and they still had heard nothing. Natalia was sitting in a chair leaning forward, with her arms resting on her legs and her hand clasped together. She kept her focus on the tile floor. Natalia saw someone in a white coat walking towards them.
"Who here is part of the Delko family?" The doctor said as he walked up. Everyone stood up but Natalia.
"Ok, I know ya'll aren't all part of the Delko family."
"Sir, he is part of our team, and our team is family." Horatio said fiddling with his sunglasses looking up at the doctor.
"Ok. Well who here is named Talia? He keeps saying Talia, where's Talia?"
Everyone looked at Natalia who still was in the same position.
"Nat." Calleigh said shaking her friend.
"That's you."
"What?" Natalia said finally taking her focus off the floor and looking up at her.
"Eric keeps saying your name." Calleigh said smiling at her. Natalia looked at the doctor with tired, red eyes. He motioned for her to follow him and she did. As she reached his room, all she saw were machines. Some making noises the others helping him breathe. She took a deep breath in before walking into his room. She walked inside and walked along the side of his bed. When she reached his hand she laced hers into his. The sight of him killed her. A tear fell as she sat down.
"Eric..." Natalia said looking at him. He opened his eyes and a smile immediately krept onto his face.
"Talia." Eric said trying to still catch his breath. Talia was he all he could get out but she didn't care.
"I love you." Natalia said smiling at him. He smiled back and took in a deep breath.
"I love you too." Eric said as Natalia flew over to him and her lips found his. He let one hand wrap around her neck and pull her closer to him as the other still held her hand.
"I wanna go home." Eric said as he rolled his eyes as they separated.
"Ha, I think you have awhile till then. I know what you mean though, I hate hospitals." Natalia said laughing.
"I meant to be with you and the kids."
"Well, your health is more important. I would rather have a healthy boyfriend at home then a hurt one to take care of. I mean we do have a 3 year old and a 2 week old. I don't need another one to take care of."
"Well, when I get healthy don't think for one second I'm not gonna make love to you. I mean after being in this bed in this room for God knows how long...."
"Well, we'll discuss that when it comes to it. Now get some rest." Natalia said kissing him again.
"Sleep with me." Eric said more as a command than a question as he pulled her onto the bed.
"I don't think these beds were made for two people Eric." Natalia said as the finally got comfortable.
"They're not, but we can manage." Eric said wrapping an arm around her lower half, pulling her close. They fell asleep and when the team came down to see him, all they could do was watch.
