Re: Wallpaper Challenge #5: Women of CSI - Winners Up!

^ Well if someone needs to apologize it's me, since I was the first who misunderstood.

That "only three women"-phrase makes a lot more sense now. :D

So, I'm very sorry and my apologies to csi_fan_uk, Wyoming and of course Hestia :) (and csi_fan_uk is right, don't put yourself down!)

Re: Wallpaper Challenge #6: Truth

I think this is the first time I've had trouble deciding what to do. I've got a whole list of ideas... I just didn't know which one to choose. At long last, I've made up my mind. In keeping with the alternating of 'concrete' and abstract, I give you...

Wallpaper Challenge #6: Truth
Yes, that's all you get. One word. Consider it a prompt. Whatever it makes you think of, that's what you can do.

Rules:
[1] The deadline will be Thursday, March 8th, 2007
[2] You may enter up to 3 wallpapers.
[3] Please PM your entries to me, DragonflyDreamer. Do not post them here, or anywhere else, as this is an anonymous contest. I will let you know when I get them.
[4] There are two levels that you can enter, Beginner or Advanced. Let me know when you send in your entry which level you wish to be in. Please note that I will not choose for you.
[5] I have not set a size restriction at this point. 800x600 is a good size, though.
[6] All three shows are acceptable. You can even mix them, if you so desire.
[7] Everyone is welcome. I know you're out there.
[8] I am going to ask that you don't include animation/motion in your wallpapers. Not everyone has the capability on their computer to do this, which gives an advantage to those who do.
[9] One wallpaper in each category will recieve a Recognition Award. This will go to an entry that didn't win, but I feel deserves some recognition. Someone who has placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd in this challenge is not elegable to recieve this.

Happy Wallpapering!

dutch_treat - I have snagged your wall as I love it!
You really like that one? But it is such a rainbow mish-mash and it only has three of the CSI women (not even all from the same series!)
csi_fan_uk txs that's a huge compliment!

Hestia  I don't quite understand what you mean with "it only has three of the CSI women (not even all from the same series!)" since it has all the main female characters from all three shows who have their own profile on the CBS site (that's where I got the pic's from). And I'm well aware that I tend to go a bit overboard with colors and layers :p, but I like it a lot and apparently so do others. I appreciate the honest opinion though  that only proves: different people, different tastes. :)

Can't wait to find out what the next challenge will be!
Alrighty guys, just poppin in to remind all of you the difference between constructive critisism and a flame.

Constructive critisism is given from a viewers standpoint, and is unbiased, reguardless of what series it is, or who the maker of the fanart is. Constructive critisism is encouraged here, but there are some statements above that are not encouraged.

In the wallpaper challenge, it is the artist's freedom to interpret the theme the way they want. There were some entries where there was only one female from one series, which is perfectly fine.

I'm sure it was not intended, but to some, it can sound like a flame, it bordered being one to me, but the artist is taking it lightly. I'm just here to remind you guys to think before your post. Put yourself in the artists shoes, and think how they would feel about what you are saying before you post it. Avoiding statements like "you really like that one?" or "poster X's wp was so much better!" would be in the best interest in everyone. Saying things like that is almost like a codename for "I think that wallpaper sucks." Doing this will make it less confusing, and less frustrating for all of us :D.

Dutch_treat was exactly right. Different people have different tastes, so if it's not your tatse, bite your tongue please. :D

I've always wanted to do a pyramid quote like this... :D
I didn't realize I'd cause a commotion! But yeah, I'll bite my tongue and I won't put myself down, and I'll be more clear next time! ;) Thanks for the compliments and encouragement! (love you, csi_fan_uk and dutch_treat!

And because I forgot the last time, congratulations to all the winners from the last contest and I look forward to how people interpret this new theme!

Hmmm... 'truth'. So broad and open to interpretation...

Re: Wallpaper Challenge #5: Women of CSI - Winners Up!

I'm most definately in for this challenge. Truth can be so interpreted though. It's going to be interesting. I already have some ideas in the back of my mind.
