Ok, this doesn't nessicarily (sp?) apply to this particular thread but.. didn't last night's episode remind you of
The Mermaid Chair? Was it just me?

I wanted to add something here
because I haven't been here for a while

I wanted to mention that in writing my fic about these two
how comfortable they are around each other and they interact well on the job and most likely 'off the clock' as well
and I realized that she is older than he is
what do you think their age difference is?
I peg Vartann late 30's to possibly 40
and Catherine at 43
do you think that will make a difference in their relationship?

I don't see any difference that age would make in this situation. Cath was with Chris Bezich, who was probably only early 30s or so. Vartann seems to be a bit more mature than that. I think Cath needs someone who's a bit younger than her, who can make her still feel sexy on her "bad" days.

I agree she needs someone slightly younger, not too young, to make her feel sexy ( I think being with him would make her feel sexy anyway )
and I don't think it makes a difference in their situation either, he does seem more mature and she probably appreciates that

again thanks to kaylyne,
that Vartann has a wry sense of humor and a critical mind
you know Catherine does also
which brings me to the "Vigara" comment in Viva Las Vegas
and in Crows Feet when she asked him..
"So, what do we have here?" and he replies
"A dead body." his wry sense of humor coming out probably just for her

I think I'm needing a Catherine and Vartann fix about now
this season we don't see much of her love life (so far) but since everything that has happened, it's a good thing and I'm sure she would tell him about everything and he would be there to comfort her (especially Lindsey's kidnapping and loosing Sam)
I see him being very supportive and caring and letting her deal with things in her own way

Just my opinion

It's just a shame that our cute little detective has chosen to go AWOL - just when he was starting to get more involved in the show and a few more storylines.

I love your VW stories, Heather. It helps to make up for his absence on the show.

totally agreed about going AWOL
yes he was starting to get more involved and better cases and more screen time than just a line or two
and for most of the latter part of his time on CSI, his cases were with Catherine
Bang Bang comes to mind.

And Viva Las Vegas as well. His viagra comment was probably the one that really made me take notice of him as more than just your standard run-of-the-mill detective that they normally had on, like Vega or Cavaliere. They usually saved the witty quips for Brass, and now Sofia. I'm thinking in this episode they paired the two together and allowed him to play off Cath's witty personality.

I brought this up for Erica to see too how well they play off each other and how well they work together
and his quick and witty remarks probably were just for her because in other episodes that he was in I didn't notice them as much
(except for 11 Angry Jurors with Nick)

Hehe I heard there was an invitation waiting for me in this thread. So here I come. *waves* Hey ya!

I've always thought Catherine and Vartann look hot together, and they work well together too. They seem to always get one another's witty comments. I loved their scenes in Viva Las Vegas, especially when Catherine was processing the toilet in the bathroom. :lol: Their scenes in Bang Bang were cool, too. Oh and I just read a couple C/V fics written by Heather and dang they were hot. You're really good at writing those scenes, Heather. :devil: Now I can't wait for more. :lol:

I miss Vartann. I hope he'll return this season.
