The photos of the day!

ok, trying this for the first time!

Amy

+ the moth is very crisp and clear, and the black and white moth against the colourful flowers makes for great contrast
- a large portion of the background leaves are out of focus, maybe moving to cut them out or have something similar in the other corner to make a similar background throughout the picture

i took this one in the garden of our hotel in costa rica:

+ The simplicity of the flower and leaves work well. The white Lilly really stands out against the dark leaves.
- The over all photo isn't sharp. The edges of the flower blend in.

Another random still life.

+ A nicely done almost abstract photo. Very Interesting to look at.
- Quite noisy and I think I'd prefer a more panoramic crop (it gets a little redundant).

Can we do a self critique?
+ I think it's a pretty funny picture and that the close up/cut off adds to that.
- Too soft and obvious hotspots by the eyebrows and on/beside the nose. The halo also sort of annoys me.

Showtime
+I like how unique it is.and funny in a way
-The cut off is rather distracting.

Mine for today I actually took while on one of my bike riding trips.

+ I love the colours involved and the light source really makes the picture stand out.
- The picture isn't very sharp.

Here's mine:

+ I like how the duck just pops out at you.
- Maybe you could have made it so behind the duck was a tad lighter because it's hard to make out what it's in front of.

Mine for today.
Because painting trees clearly wasn't enough for me.

+ Creative idea, Interesting three layer texture of the white background, the shadow, and then the subject.
- There is a shiny thing just proximal to the wrist that is kind of distracting.

Mine for today, I know I said no more tulips but I just had to slip one in. Oh and by the way the last picture was of a Zebra Swallowtail Butterfly not a moth.

really? its sitting with its wings open and has a fuzzy body, so i just assumed it was a moth. oh well, maybe that one doesnt feel like following the rules of telling the difference between moths and butterflies

+ I really like how the Tulips pop against the dark green.
- The white Tulips and Daffidols blend unto themselves making it hard to see the petals.

A random photo from a recent party.

wolfesgamergirl

+ The color quality is really good and that just looks about yummy!
- It seems off-angle. Maybe getting the shape of the baking dish would have been the solution.

Okay my first time posting a picture here.

Wolfsgamergirl
+ Good clear picture, a definite focal point, not blurry! I like the ingenuity that you bring to your subjects.
- The large about of empty pan is kind of detracting from the ?brownie?

I am glad you decided to join us.
+ Interesting idea, many dimensions to the overall look of the photo
- The picture is slightly blurry throughout.

Mine for today. Here is an interesting one I took last year at the zoo. I can't wait for spring, I am so missing the flowers.

+ I like how the bee still stands out from the flower despite it being the same color.
- The flower is a bit cut off at the bottom.

My better side :p

+ Interesting subject.
- The light chain and shade are detracting from the X Ray. Also the light source is bright at two points and some of the X Ray is lost.

Another random photo, I really like taking photos that are out of the norm.

+ I love how random the photo is. A composition one wouldn't usually think about.
- Picture's a little blurry, and a little difficult to identify at first glance.

Here's mine for today:

wolfesgamergirl just so you know I see in the corner where the x-ray is lost but the other part that looks lost actually looks that way. For some reason it's a lot darker. I don't know why... maybe it's my face :p
