I can cook a few things. Give me a recipe and I can follow it, no problem, but in my family, I've learned that most things are better after you tweak the recipe a bit. I'm more of a baker, though. Cookies, brownies, cake, that kind of stuff. It's very hard to loose weight in my house!

Oh, I love cooking. I'm think I'm not too bad at it, once my friend told me she loved it when I invited her for dinner as she always knew she would be in for a great feast. That was a nice compliment. I'm pretty sure I have made things in the past that were inedible, but hopefully not many. My husband has made three inedible meals since we got married, but I still gave him points for effort though!

Cooking can be a great destresser, I find it very relaxing. It is true, kneading dough is relaxing. Try it! :)

Just out of interest, what is kraft dinner?

'Kraft' is a company, a brand name. They make everything. Food wise. Kraft Dinner, or KD, is their version of Mac and cheese. You buy it in a box, boil the noodles, and add milk, butter, and the cheese mix that they put in the package. It't very inexpensive, and very easy. Anyone can make it. Well, except for my one friend. She's hopeless in the kitchen. It's very sad. I think she has some sort of mental block against anything even slightly 'domestic'.

I LOVE to cook! Three ingrediants that I almost always use are olive oil from Kalamata, juice from a ripe lemon & fresh garlic. According to my family my speciality is pasta. My goal is to learn how to make roast lamb with a side of lemon potatoes.

That's Maura Tierney's favorite dinner!

Well, cooking. I'm not really bad at it, but I'm not a great cook either. I like to bake chocolate cakes (which I did yesterday), but I also love to make Greek Salad or Macaroni. I love mediterrannean food. <3

^ I love horiataki/Greek sald too. It tastes best with lots of olive oil, lemon juice, peppers & feta cheese. It's probably the best & one of the healthiest salads out there. The only bad thing is that there is never enough olives :(.

I like cooking. Enjoy it most when I'm with a friend or my sister. It's more fun then. Cooking alone tends to get a little boring, especially when you have to wait ages for something to get done. You have to constantly stir the pots so you can't really move too far from the kitchen but at the same time there isn't much else to do...
And olives? Noo.

Love baking too. Just hate the cleaning up afterwards.

Whoa people. I asked what do you think of guys who cook and you talk about how much you love to cook!? Ahh, you ladies make me hungry. Either way, I guess you proved my theory wrong. That most women do like to cook..'cept Ducky maybe but baking works for me too :p.

But cooking can be really frustrating sometimes. For me, it's hard to work under pressure and mum always comes and breathe down my back. I get all jumpy!

I also love to watch Jamie Oliver. He's so bloody talented! There is also another show called 'Made to Order' of two brothers who have many restaurants all over the big cities like NY and LA. Hate to say this but I think there are more male professional cooks than females!

uh-oh.. *runs!*

*Remembers to read more carefully in the future*
Guys who cook? I don't care who cooks my meals, girls, guys, my granny...as long as it tastes good ;)
(Guess that's not what you meant though...)

As for cooking shows on TV: I don't like them, there's too much talking going on, at least on the few that I've seen. And I don't like how they try to sell all these meals as "easy to do" but really have everything prepared already. In the end it does look good but they fail to say how much work actually goes into it to have it look that way. And when they're done you still don't know whether it really tastes good or they're just putting on a show. I believe there is a reason they always wash it down with wine in the end :p

I want some salad.

and that tuna sandwich they sell at Illy's.

Dude, you can cook all you want. Like miacharlize said, who cares who cooks it. I'll eat it anyway.

I love guys that can cook. It's just really awesome to me. But I really love to cook, so he'd have to be willing to take turns cooking dinner with me. :D

I'm hungry. But I have a World History paper due and can't eat anything until it's done... Blah.

Maybe when I finish my paper I'll make some penne noodles and alfredo sauce..... *stomach growls at the thought*

Roka, I like your icon. That's hilarious!!

Me too! It's great! Um... I don't really have anything else to say. But I guess since this is the off-topic thread, that's okay :p

I like Catherinesmyidol's signature quote! "We all knew they were hiding one somewhere."
I find cooking shows to be interesting, not because I learn how to cook anything in particular, but the talking and stories are pretty entertaining. :)
Entertainment obviously sells - just look at Rachel Ray, she has four shows (I think... maybe more. And she has a ton of books as well as a magazine)!
