Hooray for Lucy.
Thanks ever so that that pic of DC in glasses Lucy.I have even saved it to my USB to take to show a friend.
It proves just about everything about his squint I've been saying and makes a girl feel good about her theories. He looks good in them specs, and comfortable with them too. I'm just suprised he doesn't have ones which darken with the sunlight, they would be a lot easier on the eyes for reading scripts in bright light. I had reading glasses like that for a bit and they were very helpful - until it was decided the lenses were making my squint worse and it was time I got operated on so they could set my eyes for using a computer! Lord only knows what they'll do when I really do need reading glasses and get old.
we'll have to see!
And yes the things we are seeing in that pic are reading glasses, you can see that from the way he has them perched on his nose and he's grinning over them. That's what my mother does - they tend to mess up your distance vision and if you want to look at something/someone in the distance you have to get round that. She has a fun job playing the double bass in orchestras - what with having to read the music AND watch the conductor.
I spent a lot of time looking at DC's normal on screen shades trying to find out if they were actual prescription lenses, but they aren't of course and shouldn't be. When I thought about it that would be past the point as he uses them for distance and he has no need for lenses for that.
Thanks again ... off to look at the sites you mentioned now!
{edit} p.s. I've been hunting around and found that baby pic of him, when he as still a kid. He's certainly got the eyes straight in that one, and is using the head dip to do it rather well. Reminds me of my parents when I was small, the usual cry was: "Ruth, your eyes are at ten to two" and then I had to either re-focus to bring then together or pull my head up.
Poor kid, actually, he could still have played sports so it wouldn't have affected him that much at school. Hope he didn't get too much stick for having reading glasses though.
