NGR91300, I'm not sure if you're the only guy in here, but we're happy to have you. It's nice to get a guys view on this, instead of us rambling girls that don't know how guys work. Since you're a guy maybe you see things we don't. I'm with you on being more like Janto, but I don’t see that ever happening, but we'll still get the flirting because they can't help it.
I'd like to thank everyone that read my fic and liked it. Thanks, it means a lot to me. I got the idea for it from all of you, my office inspiration. It was my first Greg/Nick fic and first time I let strangers read it. It's still on my slash message board if anyone else is interested and I might put it on my LJ.
I agree, it's always good to have a man's perspective.
I would love to read your fic...how do pms work here? I can't parse it...and I'm not a message board newbie. Just IM? Edited cause I forgot about the 50 post thing, whoops. I'd better get cracking.

And a few posts back there was a discussion about Nick and Greg's gay moments and that Greg didn't have many, well I found this:
And here are some other adorable ones:
N thinking,That's my boyfriend:
Ahh-sweet
Beautiful pictures and beautiful boys
I love the subtext and even though I do see their ship on screen(you'd have to be blind not to!!!) I still prefer it covert. However, in the final episode of the final season.(a long way off in the future)I'd love to see a
fanon canon moment between them both
and we all get to see it and say Ahh yeah, there it is..Nick and Greg for real.
I have a silly vision in my head of the team (whoever that might be at the time) eating breakfast, then everyone splitting...cut to one of the boys (this changes depending on my mood) waiting outside for the other...then taking each others hands and walking off, with a 'let's go home' statement or something. I also can hear Greg saying 'let's get a puppy' and Nick vetoing that right away.
Ahh, it's fanciful and silly, but something very subtle like that would be all we'd need, yk?

Exactly. Since when brothers flirt and check out each other's butt?
That is so true. I have three brothers, and while they touch each other and rough-house, it is nothing at all like the way Nick touches Greg. Ever.
And that's not even getting into the looks, the smiles, the flirting, etc...also, Nick defends Greg and mentions him a lot. For example, when the Lead CSI position was cut and Nick was okay with that cause 'Greg will be happy.' So much Love.

Some people on the CBS board must be really grasping at straws! If it just were a "southern thing", why Nick NEVER touched Warrick like that?
I mean, they were best friends...and last time I checked Nick was still a Southern guy, right? Why, in nine years, Nick has NEVER touched ANYONE like he touches Greg?
You know, I've been watching closely, and Nick doesn't often touch, full stop. And, as far as I can recall, he rarely if ever touches the women. I mean, a few pats for Warrick, and the odd handshake, back pat with outside people, (men, only...hmmm) but nothing like how he touches Greg. He never puts both hands on anyone else at the same time, especially in the manner of the neck and the chest touch, which is always accompanied by that flirty smile, he rarely gets into anyone's personal space outside of necessity, and he brushes off flirtation from all sides.
Hmm, what on earth can this mean?
But The Love is not only based in the way Nick touches Greg (although his thumb brushing Greg's neck speaks volumes). All the Southerner men use to check out another man's butt? *points to her icon* Or only the gay ones do it? :guffaw:
Among many other things, Nick/Greg is also based in looks like this:
And in flirting moments like this:
The Love is much more than boytouching and in this post,
Aquila perfectly explained it:

It's a classic gay!Nicky moment and the fact that it's with Greg is even better.
But I love how Nick is always brushing aside comments like that, questions about the type he likes and commentary on women. He also brushes aside flirtation with practiced ease. Come on CSI peeps, you can't deny it! Nicky is as bent as a paperclip.
*bent as a paper clip* :guffaw: Very true. And since many people have said that they love Nick's "gay moments...
And it's not just a Southern thing. Touching like Nick touches Greg (with his flat palm on chest, invading his personal space, smiling like that) is a GAY thing!
So true. Straight men don't touch each other this way.
And yeah, bent as a paperclip is my favorite little analogy. :guffaw:
So, I've been watching more, and this is what I've come up with...just little things, but it's there...watching Viva Las Vegas, when the guy asks is Sara and Nick are married, the look on his face...man. It's a completely bemused he's all 'no, no, no...' and it seems to me he's thinking 'as if I would marry a girl.' lol Also, his face when the 'reverend' gives him the card and pats his shoulder is equally is saying the same thing. 'yeah...no.'
Also, I was watching Crow's Feet...and the Dr. Malaga is flirting with Catherine, he says; she has 'Venus de Milo esthetics,' and Nick turns and looks at her critically and all I can think is that he hasn't really noticed. Now, why would that be?
Also, I'm watching 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape' I know it's really insignificant, but Nick is able to identify the 'erotic boutique' from part of a sign and the guy behind the counter is clearly gay. It's these little ways my mind works, lol. Just a little chuckle in my own head.
